Pleased this was found to be working as it should.....looks like a great bit of kit. Just wish a supplier would do a hub with a decent remote :-) Thanks mike and kath.
yeah it would be nice to find a hub that is a bit better in that department or just clear on what the buttons actually do, we will find the perfect hub one day
Always good to take a break, bit of time and look at an issue with fresh eyes at a later date.Good vid man.Btw mike, those new Arctic MAX fans are really NICE superb airflow, cheap + good build quality-be worth a look.
I bought set of gamemax vista white case, six gamemax fans and a hub. And I was trying to figure out where to insert this 3 pin from the hub, but it turns out its to gigabyte, damn they provided everything, thank you very much, if it wasnt for your video, I would have inserted this thing into 4 pins and burned down the house. Also, thank you for helping me figure out the amd wraith prism cooler. Very good videos, even though I dont know english well, its really better than russian tech bloggers.
7:00 Lol, love those cheap manuals. Press the red key until the red. / Press the greey key until the green. It is also sold under other brand names like TZMRIT. (try to say that 10 times) Thx for the nice review.
What a good idea for controlling both speeds and colours! I agree I would keep cpu fan separate in case unit failed, unlikely but safeguards cpu imo. If you mixed 120 and 140mm fans do you mean if the fan linked in red port with mb control was at 40% then all the other connected fans would also be at 40%? irrespective of each fans ability? Still a bargain in my view and my F15 hub as never had any issues after 3 years use! Thanks Mike and Kath👍
yes that is right, PWM values are based on the fans RPM range so a fan at 500 - 2000rpm at 10% pwm speed would be around 650rpm , a cheaper fan with an rpm range of 800- 1500 rpm would be at around 950- 1000 rpm so it might be louder than its higher quality counterpart so ideally keeping the fans either exactly the same or very colse spec makes it easier to tune the system for noise and cooling
I gave my gamemax vortex fans (agrb) with the included pwm fan/argb hub to the other half. I recently plumbed for the coolermaster 3 pack argb fans gen2 rgb controller for £50 to go with the XG750 there is no need for mobo argb either since it's usb 2.0 and masterplus software for some sweet individual LED control.
Thanks for the video! if my mobo is old and doesn't have 3v argb header, then this hub is connected only via SATA cable (and controlled using controller) right?
what about daisy chaining? is each of those header the full fledged 5V 2or3A and 12V 5A or do they come with just enough 0.5Amps for 1 fan? the aio i have uses magnetic daisy chained fans, is it safe to connect those 3 to 1 single header on this hub and not burn the hub header?
Can i use this just to use ARGB? I do not have a ARGB connector on my mobo, so i need something to make my pump and radiator fan led work. I don't really want to connect the fan on the hub, I only need it for my Argb fan. And it seems that this controller preset are actually argb, so the rainbow effect should look good
do you only set the header that the hub is plugged into? the 4 pin chassis header right? sorry im new to pc building and i just recently built my pc and my gpu and fan hub are coming in tomorrow and i got 6 fans in total with only 3 headers, 4 including my air cooler header.also if i know what header im pluggin the hub into, can i preset it in the bios or do i have to do it for every header?
I have my chassis fan header set to pwm in bios and the controller connected but the remote still controls the speeds (rpm). Is there anything else I’m missing?

You did actually say in the stream, you thought the bios was in DC mode..
Great vid Mike & Kath..
that is the problem with BIOS flashing all the time, you have to change the settings after ever flash, and i usually do, which is why it caught me out
@@mikesunboxing That's strange on Asus boards it's set to Auto when the bios is flashed..

thanks for watching
I bought my Aigo fans from Aliexpress and they came with a hub and a remote control exactly like the one you showed
Can even be used in a retro build. and have RGB too 😛
yes that is a good use case

@@mikesunboxing Thanks for explaining Mike, I assumed all same brand but diff sizes, never thought mixed brands and quality. 👌

i do like the option of running separate rgb software. the Thermaltake RGB is pretty good
This is one of the few hubs that has proper PWM control, many hubs claim it but never deliver.
yes this is a winner as far as i am concerned
Thanks for the video! if my mobo is old and doesn't have 3v argb header, then this hub is connected only via SATA cable (and controlled using controller) right?
Nice. Perhaps just clearer instruction set up guide was needed. But thanks for the clarification.
No worries!
what about daisy chaining?
is each of those header the full fledged 5V 2or3A and 12V 5A or do they come with just enough 0.5Amps for 1 fan?

that should be okay, but i don't know for sure
Ethics 💪
without them we are done for as a society and community
Does it come with the little sata power cable? Or do I have to buy the small Sata-controller cable?
the sata power cable will come from your PC power supply
@@mikesunboxing i'm talking about the one that goes into the hub itself. The power cable that comes out of the hub :D

Yes that is a good way to do it
Do I need seperate pwm fan hubs if intake and exhaust are different size and speed, intake (3 x Arctic Bionix A120), exhaust (2 x Arctic P14 Max).
ideally yes but not entirely necessary
Where do you put this in the pc? And how would i fit fan cables from the top to the pc to i assume the bottom
put it wherever you like or are able to. most PC fans come with a reasonable amount of wire, but cable extensions are available if needed
Would i just put it next to the power supply?
I tried this but the pin slot in the box is very tight. it is so easy to bend the pins because of how the pins are set up
yes the tolerace is very slim

it is probably a good idea to set all the headers to PWM, it is quite rare to get a 3 pin fan power plug these days
@@mikesunboxing thank you
can u control/see the rpm?
the PWM pass through is totally done by the motherboard fan header, the remote control PWM has 4 speeds off low medium and 100%
I have my chassis fan header set to pwm in bios and the controller connected but the remote still controls the speeds (rpm). Is there anything else I’m missing?
is the fan connected to the primary port on the hub?
It has pwm?
yes PWM only no DC fans can be used
@@mikesunboxing And can I connect it to the sys fan or only to the cpu fan?
i swear you pc guys and fan noise ...its always so sad when childrens ears are stronger then an adults
i am really sensitive to fan noise for some reason, what can i say :-)
I clicked S- i think several times, now my fans stopped spinning. Please someone help me how to fix that.
not quite sure what you have done there. i don't have a set here with me at the moment to check it, maybe try the auto or mb buttons
@@mikesunboxing Is there any way like to fix it in BIOS or mobo software?
Or like to reset the fans to default so it spin again.
