Can-Am is building a turbo for it called the aerocharger. In the video they said the rzr is faster which is false. Its quicker not faster. Top "speed" goes to the maverick. Out of the gate, the rzr takes the cake. Overall performance the rzr wins. But the Maverick is much sexier and more power for mudding etc. Good luck
It appears the Can-Am has a more rigid suspension, which is better for the type of testing you were doing. The Polaris suspension can, and should be, adjusted at the shock to be stiffer for a better performance comparison on that terrain. The Polaris driver also appears to really yank on the wheel, which may also give the appearance the vehicle is not performing as well.
My buddy owns the rzr and I own the can am. I have had way less issues overall than him, I’ve only had wheel issues, and exhaust falling off issues. He’s blown his motor twice now, and had an a arm snap coming out of his driveway. Can am is the way to go
@@LiiveRosiin 2013, 2 weeks after this comment i blew up the motor with 3500 miles on it, put one with 500 into it and that one blew up with 2000. Can am not it cheif
I just bought a 2013 mavrick first side x side I've ever owned I like it a lot. My nephew just bought a 2021 razor xp it's nicer but im happy with my mavrick it's bought and paid my nephew owes $26,000 lol 😆
Your best bet is to talk to other Maverick owners. Try one of the forums and see what other owners are doing. There are plenty of exhaust options, but I'm not positive who's doing good engine work.
you mentioned performance parts and turbos for the rzr. any suggestions on who build/mods rotax motors. i'm looking for performance improvements for the maverick
1:53 This is inaccurate. The RZR uses a parallel twin motor, not a vtwin. You should really get your facts straight before you do a comparison or review.
Be sure to get the extended warrenty the cam will go bad in the made in Mexico engine ! Brakes will make noise diffentials will wear the tires faster lots of funny noises with a rzr
I'm a BRP guy but if you want seats that stay in place during a roll over buy a Polaris. The Mavericks are not built well, you can run it hard a month before everything falls apart. But at least they still build good sleds.
If the units were climbing (or rock crawling, I would go with the Wildcat. It has a much softer suspension, better ground clearance, better AWD (with lockers), and better stability when the machines need to backup, or end up sliding sideways.
You don’t need 12k. I’m telling you this from experience. I started off with a $150 atv I got from a friend a few years ago and traded up, no cash on top of any trade, now I’m sitting on a $15,000 Polaris rzr 800 custom built from the ground up.
Did a ride through north east pa last weekend, the only thing that made it through the day was the razr, and we kicked the crap out of all the side by sides. 2 mavericks , 2 razors, and 2 commanders. The tie rods are shit on the Can ams we snapped 4 tie rods and bent the commander tie rods like pretzels, slipped a belt in one can am maverick and broke one on the other. Flat out if I was going to buy one it would be a razr all day long. Take it for what it's worth. Don't pick what looks cool it won't get you home.
Yeah, buy a rzr 900 if you don't mind your engine blowing once a year. 2 buddies lost their engines after only a few rides. Then, COUNTLESS other problems with reverse and transmission issues, etc.
@@Rossithebull87 never had one issue, and it was flogged every time it was out. It was well maintained. I had that machine 8 years ago!! So who knows what's going on with build quality now.
Can't take this seriously because he says that the RZR had a v-twin....sorry but polaris doesn't even make one of those. Check your stuff or maybe even look under the bed....some people...
+davidpaulin Last time that Canned Ham released a new SXS, Polaris was already making a more powerful one. Polaris has always and always will dominate the SXS segment of the market. They constantly strive to be class leaders in every segment and none more apparent than the SXS segment. Can Am does try very hard to keep up, but Polaris just has all those years under the belt that other manufacturers simply don't have
God, you people are the worst channel for your bias! The Maverick is CLEARLY a better machine and 7 seconds faster when you're not secretly wanting the polaris to win!
I bought this machine for $17,500 CAD. plus tax more issues than ride time belt grenades and takes out the bolt under recall and the plastic casing the rim cleaners pinch rocks into the aluminum rims causing them to deflate and make a nasty sound the bushings squeaks like crazy in a month or two the rear diff fails in a year or two first oil change $280 2nd service for oil and diffs $500 warranty work is done if the dealer feels Iike it then you have to get it past the French BRP office with a $ 50 deductible after 3 months look it up to your homework
Maybe the can am is better maybe not, but the rzr has been around for years and can am have been studying it under a microscope in order to even create the maverick (Japanese style copycating).
Polaris with an 875cc V-twin???? next time you want to "bust out some stats" you better make sure they're correct. Polaris uses a parallel twin not a V-twin. hope you guys don't do this show for a living. it sounds as though you are trying to educate the general public about these machines. if so, you should have your facts straight.
Great Review! I am looking at a used 2013 Maverick right now and this review helped a ton.
These guys are so extreme that I almost fell asleep watching this.

Wonder if the cam went bad in the RZR mine did at 950 miles ! Looking at getting a Can Am more bang for the buck !

It’s a wonder the Polaris held together long enough to get the testing done
can am + Rotax = King !

finally an unbiased review . thanks
you mentioned performance parts and turbos for the rzr. any suggestions on who build/mods rotax motors. i'm looking for performance improvements for the maverick
good review..i like reviews where there is no bias
Can You guys make a video of the new can-am commander max xt
Thanks
Great review! Looking at a used 2013 Maverick XRS and this was very helpful
you didn't explane sport mode or how big the mavericks fuel tank is.
Great review guys~*
Good review, very honest. Thanks for the video
Can am is better and also the guy at the end still didn't pick a winner he started saying want this pick rzr want this pick maverick
New Polaris turbo with 144hp is unrivaled
Go can Am
I also look at RZR and they look like they are 5yrs behind on design
I only know the arctic cat an can am and rzr and poleris eny more?
Canam ALL the way!
The 900 is an inline twin not a vtwin.

ohhhh how times have changed here in 2024....
I'm getting the Polaris RZR 900 EPI 2013.

you can now get them for $16k in canada for the cheapest one

I second that
Sorry But the Can-Am is better than RZR XP"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's not going to get much better. The new RZR XP 1000 retails for $20K in the US and $22.7 in Canada. The biggest and best toys are always pricey.
More like 16k

900
it's 38K in israel...
All I have to say is, Polaris now dominates the SXS segument with the new RZR 1000K putting out 107 hp.
Simple as that people!
its junk, the whole thing falls apart. plus can am is killing it in all the big races, new turbo has 121 hp, only gonna get worse for popo.
+Aaron G If you want to talk numbers, the XP1K Turbo is 144hp.
+Joshua Taylor can am is soon coming with something much more powerful

the rim cleaners pinch rocks into the aluminum rims causing them to deflate and make a nasty sound

the rear diff fails in a year or two
first oil change $280
2nd service for oil and diffs $500

The guy explaining the maverick is very boring!
these guys talk like they hate there job, plz get different people
ooky badookie you have to learn people, theyr just their style theyr not bad
these are normal people giving an honest review.....unfortunately you are used to smiling bubbly fake people who give hype with no substance
Why do these channels hire old people who know nothing for reviews!?!?!
someones a little can-am biased lmao, wonder if they were "compensated" by can-am like weve discovered in past instances.
