Tanzania collects a record revenue worth $5 million from global tech giants

As Tanzania tries to grow its digital economy, the government says it's determined to ensure that tech companies pay their fair share. Tanzania's tax authority says it has collected a record revenue worth 5 million U.S. dollars from global tech companies. The funds were collected between July 2023 and March 2024, following the implementation of the Digital Service Tax last July.
