Watching Cine breakdowns are like therapy to me and its super inspiring because I can carry the things you mention on to projects I work. You articulate the vision and purpose of every shot so well along with the lighting motivation, it makes it easy to take notes and learn from every breakdown you post. Great work!
Haha, that's awesome! Glad you're enjoying these breakdowns and that you're getting helpful information out of it. Did you like the long form, or prefer to go shorter (10-16 minute)?
@@TenfoldProduction I'm not particularly biased because in all the breakdowns you guys have done its engaging because theres a lot to learn for me so regardless of 10-16 or 32 min Im locked in the whole time. Guess it depends on the project and how much you feel needs to be said about it but all of it was valuable.
I'm just starting off on my cinematography journey and I've learned a lot watching your videos. What I was keen to notice was your frame-within-a-frame shot at 7:37. Of course the entire video is a frame in itself but the door acts as a frame to the court and then there's the rectangular frame separating the seating area from the court, all showing depth. hope I got that right 😅
You got it! We always look for frames within a frame if we can. It adds depth and makes the image more interesting. It helps create focal points for the eyes and really helps draw the viewers in. Great eye noticing that, and thanks for watching, it means a lot!
@@TenfoldProduction any time ! before you go what's your favourite project you've ever worked on? and the main thing you love to focus on in your personal process? all the best - Cleo Tallumen
@@TenfoldProduction I mean that could be grand! I'm a mix media artist with my main for being in music but I've fallen in love with David Lynch and Wes Anderson so im learning to be more of a film maker while creating my photography and videography business together so I can fund my work.
@@Tallumen my favourite is probably the Adidem Asterisks - Sophisticated Fun project. Personally my favourite part of the process is the creative ideation and the post production - Jason
Awesome work as usual, thank you for inspiring us! Keep crushing it. P.S. how are you drawing these on-screen annotations while the video is still playing?
the narrative of this commercial is just bad, sorry to tell but the cinematography is okish - compared to your other work it is way weaker... From this example you can see if the directors vision / treatment is not driving you can´t fix it with the other departments. Sorry to be harsh but it is no against the cinematography. There is like no surprise within the story telling tbh. But your breakdown is amazing, you seem like a humble prof. dop. And I totally see the challenge not to have a human cast.
Love that closing sentiment. Thanks for sharing, super insightful
Thanks for watching the entire thing! We really appreciate you and your time.
