Im only half way though the video but i have to thank you for putting stuff like these up on yt. theres not a lot of lenghty, thoroughly researched videos with no visuals focused solely on the subject. i dont know how many people are interested, but i would assume youd have to be pretty interested to go all the way through all the parts, it's not like a school of life video, and for as of now the few of us that are thank you!
I'm a grad student who, even though not a philosophy student, has to work with a lot of philosophers. I just finished your series on Heidegger, and I absolutely love how you are able to narrate these extremely complex and daunting ideas in an approachable manner. Just starting this one on Kant, and super-excited about it! Thank you for your hard work.
Good stuff! I got your point about squandering the asset of young eager minds, ruining their interest in a subject (though it could have been done without comparing bad teachers with Hitler). Keep doing what you are doing!
14:01 this is the same reason I gave up on computer stuff. I got comfortable modding games and then started looking for resources on how to do some of it myself and it was like trying to learn a lesson in another language. for beginners, 5+ years experience preferred.
I downloaded a book on Kant's philosophy on Kindle, and I couldn't even understand the introduction. An arrogant and abstruse erudition spewed from the pages, and it was clear this guy cared nothing about the people who would read the book. It frustrated me because Kant seems like one of the most fascinating philosophers, and I was basically just slapped in the face for even trying to learn about him.
I don't know why but I was trying to listen to this podcast on Spotify but for some reason it didn't play, and then I went back to the others and none of them are also playing

Beautiful intro. Necessary criticism toward lazy, egoic professors! Thumbs up for you and your way to share philosophy

Love you Stephen, you’re so right about education and trust me you are one of the best teachers I’ve ever met
The way some people present philosophy makes it so that other people Kant understand it.

Timeless pieces
Everyone went through the 'Kant is nonsense' phase, it passes with time.

Who the hell is down-voting this?
I love the show(!) but I can explain this. 2 people thought he spent too much time on the middle half part of the 26 minutes.
bad philosophy teachers
People who hate Kant for his white supremacist theories

Love your work, but why is the uploads out of sequence?
Did Kant take LSD?
