The German in this was pretty shoddy - the English lines came out a lot better. Here's a slightly more faithful translation, based on the original Japanese script: Stage 1 Beginning of stage: "Der Feldversuch mit dem VKL503 wird nun beginnen. (The VKL503 will now begin field testing.) After defeating boss: "Das Ziel wurde zerstört. Test abgeschlossen." (The target was destroyed. Test completed.) Stage 2 After defeating boss: "Der Einsatz war ein Erfolg. Wir kehren nach Hause zurück." (The operation was a success. We will now return.) Stage 3 Beginning of stage: "In dieser Schlacht entscheidet sich der Aufstieg und Fall des Imperiums! Alle Mann, strengt euch an!" (This battle will decide the rise and fall of the Empire! Everyone, put your backs into it!) Before encountering boss: "Wir werden einen anderen Weg finden. Sie jagen dem Angreifer nach." (We'll find another way. You go after the Attacker.) "Jawohl." (Affirmative.) After defeating boss: "Das Ziel wurde zerstört. Warten Sie auf weitere Instruktionen." (The target was destroyed. Await further instructions.) Stage 4 Beginning of stage: "Wir haben alles vorbereitet." (We're all set here.) "Verstanden. Wir starten jetzt einen Überraschungsangriff." (Copy that. We will now launch a surprise attack.) After defeating boss: "Das Ziel wurde zerstört. Zurückziehen." (The target was destroyed. Retreat.)
If I recall correctly, the first boss is "Winchester", the second mid-boss is "Kalashnikov", the second boss is "Mauser", the third mid-boss is "Bren", the third boss is "Springfield", the fourth mid-boss is "Right Arm (?)", the fourth boss is just "Fire Control Tower (I think, doesn't really have a real name)", the fifth mid-bosses are "Arsenal (?)", Enfield", and "Neostead" respectively, and the fifth boss is "Browning". I couldn't translate the vehicle designations to save my life though.
Bren->Bredo, from Breda Meccanica Bresciana, an Italian arms manufacturer. Right Arm->Litearm, from ArmaLite, Inc., a US arms manufacturer Arsenal, from Arsenal AD, a Bulgarian arms manufacturer I translated the vehicle designations quite literally. Tank can be substituted with armour if you wish. Also VKL5.03 (P) means Versuchskonstruktion (lit. experimental design), Luft (flight-capable, lit. sky), 5 tons, unit 03, produced by Porsche. Naming convention taken from WW2 tank prototypes.
Shnikov-class battleship Avka and Mauser-class Bolt Dreadnought eh. I like the way they name the bosses after gun manufacturers, but it really only makes sense in katakana. The first boss is like, what, Weechester? The third being Spreefield? I suppose the second miniboss could be named Shpagin-class (from Degtyarev-Shpagin DShK machinegun) or Shipunov-class (from Gryazev-Shipunov GSh series of autocannons). Anyway I will check; I don't think that dialogue exists since radio is part of the BGM.
Man , great play through !!! 🤩🤩🤩👍👍👍 I am sure it took you about 1 year to play the way you play , every day practice ! Game is sooo fun that no matter how many time you die , you still want to try again !! But as I can see there are some slowdowns sometimes. On Dreamcast a bit different
Supposedly, the dialogue stated when they fly away is "Thanks for letting me off of this thing!" in German or something. See, you alone didn't sink Mauser - apparently a bunch of Empire sabotage teams planted bombs on the thing to make it...well, sink better. Which explains why the battlecruiser Kalashnikov didn't crack in two when you destroyed everything on it. Unfortunately, in this video you so happened to destroy their only way off. It's okay though, presumably they got hailed as martyrs.
@06:06: Looks like the sabotage crew was... *sunglasses* ...Sabotaged. Sorry, I had to. (For those of you who don't get the joke, try not destroying those aircraft and seeing what happens later)
Ikaruga's not really that great of a shmup, honestly. Cave's offerings like Mushihimesama Futari, Akai Katana and Espgaluda are more fun, and their scoring mechanics don't require nearly as fiddly chaining ("oops I shot exactly one enemy I shouldn't have, stage score's screwed"). They're also not as demanding in terms of exact memorization as you've got bombs that can be used as needed for spots you're having trouble with (not that they're by any means easy, especially if in Maniac or 2nd loop).

We need a Under Defeat 2 , it's really badass.
1-1: Airborne Tank "Winchester"
2-1: Shnikov-class Battlecruiser "Avka"
2-2: Mauser-class Battleship "Bolt"
3-1: Super-Heavy Self-Propelled Artillery "Breda"
3-2: New-type Airborne Heavy Tank "Springfield"
4-1: Heavy Armored Train "Litearm"
4-2: Artillery Control Tower
5-1: Prototype Multi-turret Super-heavy Tank "Arsenal"
5-2: Prototype Airborne Heavy Tank "Enfield"
5-3: Prototype High-Maneuverability Tank "Neostead"
5-4: Mobile Fortress "Browning"
Moving and deadly fortress, can beat godzilla
the final boss destroyed me on my first playthrough, his bullets that came back from behind with the wind are hard to dodge
Wow they really fucked up the special effects in this version, the nice real time shadows aside, the Dreamcast version is much nicer to look at.

To reach the second loop, you have to have an average of 95% contribution or more throughout all five stages.

Merci Beaucoup et encore Bravo tu es tres fort, tu es sur PS3 ?
