I always found you can't kill a Midland radio. Maybe plain looking, but they always worked when you hooked them up.

I have a 77-857 which keys at 5.5w and pushed around 25-30 PEP. i want to put a RFX95HD on the back. I've talked over 6 miles through dense woods and hills it sounds great. super clear.

I have a Midland 77-856 made in 1977. It’s in great condition and seems to work fine, but I know electrolytic caps have a relatively short lifespan. How do you know when the caps need to be replaced?
