I thought I recognized your Pinky Schooner Glad Tidings and Le Cerf ?? The steamboat diorama is simply amazing. Thank you for this beautiful presentation!
My pleasure! Yes - there was my schooner))) and 2 more hulls Le_Cerf and Carrack (in the background, because for some reason I always forget to take pictures of my own models at such events) ...
Now I’m doubly sad I missed this year’s event; many, many incredible models, and having recently discovered your channel and picked up a few neat tricks, it would have been nice to pick up a few more on photographing models in person. Thanks for letting me see what I missed.
Thank you so much for sharing this Olha. Absolutely enjoyed this presentation. Would have been a little far for me to go there. But thanks to your great work I have been able to admire the nice ships on show there.
Looks like the show runs the gamut of nautical concerns. Even the least in displacements and draft appear to be presented here. The Stern Wheeler River boat Diorama is off the hook for sure. Did enjoy the more modern ships as well. My thanks for sharing.
Being from New Bedford mass i have i particular fondness for the whalers, also your ships are absolutely the best and i eagerly await your newest videos !
Hello from Dublin Ireland olha love your channel thanks you for the inspiration and uploads .I’m working on something different after doing many ships ? I thought a ship wreck. It’s cool trying to achieve different stages of weathering and decay on different materials? I might plan a trip to vasa museum.
I will make an announcement on the channel next time, because many people wanted to visit it and just did not know that this conference was resumed after COVID-19...
Wow, I definetly would have loved being there... And I think I saw two models of the Vasa-ship (one painted red and one blue). You should absolutely try building it some day Olha.
Vasa is a very special ship for me - I was aboard her when I photographed for the museum hers details of the running rigging for the next volume. Therefore, I would like to gain even more experience in wood carving before I dare to build her...
No puedo creer que exista una mujer que construya modelos navales como los que hace Olga...Nunca imaginé que a una mujer le pudieran interesar los barcos!!!!!
Stunning models, showing much variety in this timeless subject. I have a few to build myself which I'm about to start. I wish I could show a model I have - which is a bit different in that it was made in around 1810! It measures just over 3 feet in length from the tip of the bowsprit to the stern. It is of an early 19th century Royal Navy Second Rate 94 gun warship. It was made in Scotland back then by an ancestor of my wife, he was a ship builder of full size vessels, but had nothing to do with RN contracts - so as to why he made this model is a bit of a mystery. It is beautifully detailed with crew figures, officers & Capt. on the quarter deck with Royal Marine sharp shooters in the rigging. The stern castle is delicately carved in ivory and the pale yellow strakes along the hull sides to which the cannon protrude are also in ivory with the wooden hull in black (timber). The figure head is of an 'officer' possibly a Capt. brandishing a sabre in his right extended arm towards the horizon whilst clutching a small telescope to his breast with his left hand.
At the end of the video, the models of OREGON, PERRY, and the cross section of CHARLES MORGAN are display models of the kits I developed for BlueJacket Shipcrafters.
Lots of hard work there beautiful. I wonder how long it takes for the pros to build a rev war ship from scratch? Me it is over a year for sure. I still have to kits from 1962 and one from 1969 maybe some day I’ll get to build them.
I am only a third of the way through the video and blown away by the craftsmanship. Are these hand made wooden ships or plastic kits or a bit of both? Phenomenal work and very good videography work showing this presentation

I exhibited three of my models! Only one for the competition as the rest are not yet complete. But there is no rating of all models, only the first three places receive commemorative plaques... P.S. I use a full frame Canon camera.
Yes, it really was a wonderful event! This conference is held annually at Ocean Beach Park in New London. Usually the first weekend in April, but due to the virus it did not happen in 2020, and then moved to October 2021. But I hope that next spring everything will be on schedule. I think it's sponsored by clubs, but I'm not sure - I'm still researching how it works in the United States. And I like this format more than the European one.

Yes, there really were a lot of incredible models! And believe me, it was the best soundtrack among truly acid and devilish music. I spend half a day sorting through all that audio library with royalty free music...
