I completely forgot to mention, but the Jessicatrice culprit theory, also known as Moon-chan, was pretty big back when the visual novel was still releasing. It’s popularity can be attributed to an old character description on Ryukishi’s website (which you can still find btw) where Jessica was waiting for someone “on a white horse” to save her from Rokkenjima. The name “Moon-chan” comes from Jessica’s tarot being the moon. And in some interpretations of tarots the moon represents deception. There’s so much that has been 404d but you may be able to find some leads in waruso. Jessica is a school of red herrings with the website + symbolism/dialogue in EP2, plus all of the rewrites from 2 onwards, it makes you wonder if there was more to her than what we got. Although, according to Ryukishi, the culprit is the one thing he kept constant throughout the process of writing Umineko. (I think my other comment got deleted)
Anyone remember Brokkenjima? It was first mentioned during episode 2 i believe and it was supposedly Kinzo's second secret island. I remember it being a huge part of the plot and no one knowing if it was real or not. There was even a whole part of episode 4 where Battler, George, Jessica and Maria try sailing towards it before the typhoon starts and they get stuck there yet still die which was honestly one of the biggest mysteries in the story and it was the main reason why i stuck with my Jessicatrice theory until ep 8. However, on my recent re-read i found out that Brokkenjima never existed and it was actually replaced by a mansion called Kuwadorian??? Also the whole ep 4 is really different from what i remember. Really weird stuff.
George always seemed like an unnecessary character to me, so to mention his younger brother made me even more annoyed, but if they really did remove him completely(should have done George as well, lol) I remember something about him dying his hair blonde because Jessica had blonde hair and this being disapproved of. Not sure if he still had his hair dyed up until he was removed or if it was something he did in the past but there you go.
as soon as i saw John with his brother i felt this horrible pounding sensation in my head and i started crying and i don't know why

1:53 wow, Ryukishi can't even make a Lovecraft reference without being accused of racism.

nah you're thinking of Twowadorian, the other Kuwadorian. that's where Beatrice the Elder lives
This is clearly just Ryukishi retconning things like he's JK Rowling... just like he retconned the solution.
4:08 mom, I'm famous
Anyway. Wasn't Gaap confirmed to be Ayumu? When she sang "DeadAnge" that was a huge revelation. Made me cry.
