There’s a few misconceptions about modern city Filipina, we will generally try in the first instance to be independent as were being taught to stand on our own two feet. This will embolden us to help others and be a proactive member of society. Of course we are yearning for our life partner to settle with and have a family, this is still the dream of a every Filipina and we would give up our careers to have the “ ideal family” . As for partners..you’ll try to date up, I personally always found western guys attractive. I was a corporate banker for Citi and Wells, and while your working your with friends/work mates and a family..your potential of meeting foreign guy is limited as most are not really serious and I would continue a relationship if the guy is not serious. So a nice guy can certainly find a modern city Filipina..we are just more work ..charrr. God bless.

love your videos and topics. In this one it is my understanding that we cannot generalize too much in life because all cases are different. One thing to consider indeed is that most American expats here are not at the same level of understanding emotionally and financially, but mostly emotionally. Love is everywhere available for the right people and right understanding even in different "classes". Yes, it is good to warn many dummy expats because many women here are beauties, emotionally and in terms of giving unconditional love. I found a very classy women, very busy with her job 16 hours per day taking care of a family and their children. Thank you Joe, in a month or so I will be again in BGC and hope to have a cup of coffee with you and learn from your experience. Take care

I think "high class" generally means affluent (read rich). If I were to expatriate to the Philippines or Taiwan or Thailand or ... I would want to meet a professional (lawyer, teacher, nurse, etc.) working or retired woman who has her own money, whose kids (if any) are grown and gone, and who wants companionship with a western man. Young women from affluent families in their 20s or 30s would be very hard to meet let alone establish a relationship. There are more unattached attractive Filipinas in their 40s to 50s than one might think. Location is important but a satisfying relationship with a high character lady can be found if one is careful and patient. I spent about ten years visiting, working, and living all over the Pacific and they do exist.

YOu are very very correct! Highly educated and middle to higher class Filipinas also date yuppies, professionals, who are young, most of the time , their colleagues. Somebody who keeps up with their lifestyle. So, in cities like Baguio, Manila, etc, you rarely see old, western men dating or living with young women. An exception to being with people of own kind is if that foreigner ( desirably) speaks the local language and is assimilated into the local culture both economically and socially. Then, there are fewer problems entering those families. If he is now a Filipino citizen, even better.
If you went to school there, and networked and went native, then, OK. Much easier. An FOB tourist or a retiree is not really that type.
Plus, young successful men outside of the PH rarely go to the PH to assimilate, integrate, start businesses, go to school there, etc.

@@Joeysgonerogue I am now fluent in Tagalog and it is night and day. I am pretty much treated as a local. I also rarely get ripped off now.
One needs to keep in mind that Filipinos are not Japanese or Koreans. They are way, way less xenophobic. Still not Brazilians, by all means, but things become way easier when you become a speaker of the local language. But you need to speak it well.
Not just " mahal kita" and "kamusta ka".
My goddaughter once told me, "I always thought you were a pure White Filipino ".
Your fluency, though may be a minus if there is a girl who specifically looks for a
" porener" to practice English, show him off to her friends and eventually to emigrate to " the States".
Those are not interested in Pinoy Hilaw and Pinoy-Pinoyan.

The run of the mill foreigners generally will not cut it with the modern city Filipina, guys that come here really have no idea about the professional Filipino and the society. The quality Filipina know there worth so whether Filipino or it be a western guy they will need to be on point to attract the true unicorns. Filipina are no different from other women …they will want the best mate they can get ..looks and security. And if your a guy that’s dated plethora of Filipina ..you’ll find your level, whether it be province or city modern, but for sure it’s easier to date the province girls as they are in rich supply. Can I answer? I both enjoy and do not enjoy. My last visit I was at a very big resort in Cavite. A great place, but they had no credit card terminal. I had to pay cash. So, that means I had to carry 12,000 pesos in cash on me. Who does that? They told me to go to an ATM. I took a long, long ride on the back of the motorcycle to the ATM, and had to pay for it, but the ATM was out of order. Had to go to another ATM very, very far.
Still wondering why in 2024, a huge resort would not take credit cards.
Then, I went to a cafe there and asked for a coke and they answered,
      " We have no coke".
It is experiences like this that make me rethink actual living in the PH 365 days a year.
So, I visit, stay maybe 3 months at a time and then go.
I want to ask a proud Filipino why in countries around the PH, there is no such problem. They are also " poor" but they have credit card machines, their ATMs work, their products are not "out of stock". Same people with the same economy and the same face as Filipinos.
Don't get me wrong, I love the PH but I cannot live there all the time. I need to get out.
If I have to stay in the PH, I will stay in Angeles City. They have better services.

Those cost a lot of money, and it shouldnt be a surprise why there are hundreds and thousands of those expensive vehicles on the roads. Wealth has quadrupled in the Philippines over the past 10 years alone. I am now earning 8x more now than when i entered the workforce 6 years ago.
Of course, I wouldnt expect an expat to know these things if the only reliable source they've had is a filipina on the dating site who hasnt had a day of college or high school education. College education rates have grown significantly over the past decade, and currently, tertiary education rates are higher in the PH than america. 45% of Filipinos go to college, only 37% for great old America.
