I love NYC and go at least once a year. I’m tempted to stay there for a month this summer. So glad you guys had the opportunity to do this.

As someone from the Western US, NYC has always seemed like this incomprehensible metropolis. Thank you for breaking down the concept of distinct neighborhoods, this makes it seem more approachable with so much variety to explore. Great job on the composition of your videos!

I come alive in Manhattan and especially in the NYU area - West Village - and in the museums, galleries, so many places - like no other city even at home in Vancouver! I have friends who live in Greenwich Village and they say after awhile there is a grind that develops to living day in and day out in NYC. In part it’s the high work pace just to afford a nice home there! There can be little down time. Also it’s incredibly expensive for friends with children who live right in Manhattan. Children add on a lot of expenses regardless of where we might live but especially so in a city like Manhattan! It’s great that you lived there for one month to see if it was possible and to get a more realistic sense of what’s best! Awesome video!! Cheers!

I've been here over 40 years and still feel like I haven't seen everything I want to see. It's an amazingly diverse place and NY changes all the time.

As a tourist who lives near London and goes to London every week, so is used to another big global city, my NYC takeaways:
    Pros:
    - Mad energy levels. A city, like London, that literally energizes you when you're there. Crazy people, cultures, all walks of life, love that in a major city.
    - Tonnes of things to do, different vibes of areas.
    - I'd move there just to eat NYC Pizza slices, I wish they were common here in the UK.
    - Price of things wasn't actually quite as much as I expected.
    Cons:
    - That smell of cannabis everywhere, they should do something about that.
    - Stuff like driving or food shopping if you live there compared to a town (I live 30 miles east of London and convenience is so much better), but that's the same for any major city really.
    - Crime is a bit high of course, but again fine if you don't watch the news.
All in all, the pros massively outweighed the cons, and I came away from the place wanting to immediately return. What a wonderful city.

Drop the Mic! Nothing else to say! You covered this very well! One point that you didn't mention that I asked in one of your videos, "Did You Guys Feel Safe?" You answered yes but be aware of your surroundings! That goes for any big city.... I'll be moving in about 90 days. You summoned it well. Couldn't have said it better!!!! Look forward to more of your videos...Enjoy the weekend. 🗽🗽🗽🙂

Great call out on safety!! You summed up that answer great 😊Being aware of your surroundings is totally key when it comes to safety in New York! So glad you enjoyed 😊and that's so exciting about your move to NYC!!!! Congrats!!! 🎉

Born and raised in Queens. I lived there for 30 years and I always envied people who live out of state. I couldn't wait to leave NY and planned my exit for a long time. I do have the childhood memories but from seeing what's going on over there now I wouldn't go back. I wouldn't feel safe living there now that I have a family with two kids. But I guess it's all about perspective as well. I'm much happier living in sunny AZ.

Erin, excellent Vido! Drop the Mic! Nothing left say! The only thing that you left out was safety. I asked you in one of your videos did guys feel safe, and you said yes. Just be aware of your surroundings. Sad you guys aren't moving. I'll be there in 90 days! Yes, the sticker shock is real. Just closed on my condo and I'm in investment banking and usually don't get sticker shock, but it's real! Real Estate there is total madness......but I chose to be in the madness and look forward to it!!!! Enjoy the weekend!😃🗽🗽🗽

New Yorkers are very much like Londoners. Always talking about leaving. Then regretting it once they do.

    • @1525boy
      @1525boy 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

I can’t speak for London but I don’t know anyone who has regretted leaving New York. People have been fleeing the city for decades.

Whenever i check things happening in NY in Instagram or X, i see people looting stores, or those black kids pushing people in subway or homeless people shouting and harassing people inside metro etc.. Are things this bad in NY for everyday/normal people or it is not that bad?
