So wonderful to hear "The Crawfish Kid" again! I attended GIT ( as it was known then) in '79 and '80. Ron Eschete was one of the principal instructors along with Joe Diorio, Don Mock and Les Wise. Ron's unfailing generosity, patience, and staggering knowledge are still an inspiration for me all these years later. From developing flowing single note lines to chord voicings, reharmonization, and creating chord melody arrangements, Ron's expertise was/is unsurpassed. Even more, he imparted his wisdom with a grace and humility that befitted his southern gentleman's roots. My ears are still ringing from hearing Ron and Joe play duets at the Baked Potato in North Hollywood! I tell people here in Canada that i was taught by the best in the world, and this video is a testimony. Thanks to the folks at MIT for making this available. .

One of the Greats!! Shamefully underrated by the general public……. But not by knowledgeable jazz musicians.

Just watching this takes me back to my MI days back in 95! Thanks! Great stuff and so under rated. The musicianship of the teachers there were on such a high caliber and inspiring to watch. Even after 25 years, these were the best days of my youth!
