i've been listening to her for 4 years, and i can still say with complete confidence that i'd listen to her sing every minute of every day for the rest of my life if i could
She has a great one-on-one rapport with the audience, many who are the same age and desperately want to relate to her. It’s like we are having a conversation with her while she sings and entertains us. This is not manufactured but it’s a true side of her personality, charm and appeal. Yes, she is so appealing and beautiful.
OK. I'm curious. I started seeing these videos pop into my recommendations in the last week. If there's anything more odd than a young talent who can actually sing, play 3 instruments (cello, piano, guitar, maybe more) and write her own complex, non-pop material and seems to be hitting on all cylinders in the media, it's the crowds. They are obviously very into her but every crowd in every live performance is very vocal when they're supposed to be, then DEAD QUIET and polite during her performance. Like at 7:17 in this clip, the song stops and all you can hear are AIR HANDLERS in the background. Not a cough or peep from the crowd. Is this truly what every performance of hers is like? Did her entire audience make a pact online beforehand to behave like adults just for this artist?
hey, I attended this concert, and I would like to think that after the first song we all silently agreed to be very respectful to not only Laufey/the symphony but toward the people seated next to us. I believe the presence of the orchestral made us quiet down a bit more. For me personally I have attended a concert performed by them and there's just a classical concert etiquette side to this. Though I will say I did want to scream out "Blah blah blah" during "From the start". I'm sure a few of her other concerts will have people screaming a bit more.
Yeah, mostly. All of her performances are quiet like this, theres only some exceptions, like im from the start, mostly when she plays that one theres this one part where she lets the audience say "blah, blah, blah" While She's just quiet, other than that, most of her concerts are like this, to not say all of them
i noticed this when i was at her surprise show on a Very Laufey Day in LA. it was dead quiet as she sang. i thought it had something to do with the respectful audience & the fact that the speakers were quiet that day. 'twas very nice to be able to hear her, which was only possible since people were silent silent silent.
thank you so much for posting this!! i really hope to be able to experience this kind of concert of laufey's one day (with an orchestra!) :") i loveeee orchestral concert etiquettes, being able to purely listen to laufey's angelic voice accompanied by the beautiful orchestra must've been amazing! hope you had a great time! :)
I discover Laufey during an interview on NPR. I've been an absolute lover of the American Song Book and thrilled there is someone who will introduce this great music to a new generation. But also a talented song writer . . .absolutely obsessed with her song From The Start . . .love everything about it. I tried to buy tickets to see her in Phoenix in November but the "standing only" tickets start at $292 but if you want a seat it's over $350. So thank you for sharing😍💗❤
Her 2 concerts at the end of the tour springtime 2024 are already sold out in Iceland. She did a fabulous concert with SINFÓ, The Symphonic Orchestra of Iceland last autumn and the whole concert is an official product of SINFÓ and is there for free on their TH-cam plus on the channel of Laufey too and on Spotify. in great quality. Icelandic evergreens too.Took some minutes to sell out in Iceland. Hopefully they will be with Sinfó and she will add 1 or 2 more in Reykjavík because Harpa concert hall isn't that big. I want a ticket.❤
Tysm for posting this, one of my college assignments was to watch a 45+ minute live concert and review it, and I really wanted to do Laufey so THIS WAS PERFECT!!!
Thank you for sharing this to us.. not at my best the past months and watching this has been a good reminder that there is still beauty in this world.. all the best mate :)
Thank you for this video of a great concert by the best romantic singer today. Wish I had been there. Great job shooting under very difficult circumstances. Hope your arms survived without lasting injury!
haha, it's because of the orchestral concert etiquette with the LA Phil being there. It was so interesting seeing the mix of demographics in the crowd, with some older folk and zoomers. But for the most part, since the LA Phil was there, most people were treating it more on the classical concert etiquette side. It was honestly very refreshing to just be able to hear Laufey and the LA Phil and zero in their talent. Very different experience from her usual concerts and I loved every moment of it!

god bless u and ur dog and ur bed and ur family for recording this
Hahaa best comment
yes indeed
Ur hilarious 👍
dreamer with a full orchestra has me convinced that we NEED a musical with songs written by her
Idk why but I have a hunch that it will happen. Maybe someday...
What a brilliant idea! It would be an epic endeavor for her but I have no doubt she could pull it off.
YESSSSS
I love that she puts in extra effort in the arrangement for her songs live. The orchestra just makes her songs even better.
Yes, agree as you are so right and a true Laufey fan!
Seeing that cello standing behind her tells me there will be more great music to come. One great concert!
i've been listening to her for 4 years, and i can still say with complete confidence that i'd listen to her sing every minute of every day for the rest of my life if i could
You can be sure i do the same ❤️🌹🍒🍒🍒
Dreamer is so charming and perfect jazz 😭💗
Laufey is everything about love ❤️❤️❤️
That helicopter doesn't know how much damage it's causing
Wonderful voice, wonderful songs, wonderful music. I would love to have been at that concert

The voice that freezes me. Angelic voice.
Her voice is angelical!
My god I will never get over how angelic her vocals are 🥹
A new romantic voice. So welcomed.

during her tour shows, people are usually singing along, but for performances with an orchestra, they’re quiet
It’s the classical nature of her music, I think. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a rowdy crowd at an orchestra after all.
I come here every once in a while to remember this night. Honestly best day of my life, seeing Laufey in concert it's such a special memory to me

Thank you so much for posting this. That version of Promise with the orchestra is absolutely heart achingly sublime 😢❤
I WANNA GO THERE a night at the symphony

Where can I play the score?
55:18
Wonderful performance - BUT what venue is this that has helicopters flying over every few minutes? Does the LA Phil actually play there??
26:08 i don't get what she's saying can someone tell me "biggest goals and ...... at the top "
“My team was like shoot for the moon, write down your biggest goals. And I kid you not, at the top of the list was sing with the LA Phil.”
ooh i didn't know this "i kid you not" first time im hearing this xd@@gabpasia
Tqm
Is this recording from your phone?
Anybody know if she scored the whole orchestra part? I know she could do it but that's a ton of work.
It's almost never the case that artists do that themselves. This is the job of the arranger or orchestrator.
@@honestkeysOh, I know - but given her orchestral experience I just wondered how much of a role she played in that.
Epic play when she draws her sword to play the cielo
Is something happening to pop music? I can actually hear the words and her musicality is reminiscent of the 1940's.
Why are the audience so quite😭😭

Because her talent has them in the palm of her hand. They are drawn in and listening.
@@mpgski9598 I see don’t get me wrong. I LOVE LAUFEY!! I would personally start singing along to any of her songs lol
@@gabpasia that’s very interesting! Thank you so much for recording the experience

A wonderful concert. Thank you. Could you put all the parts of the concert together into a whole concert?
Thank you so much for posting this! I was having a really bad day and this helped me turn it around. 🙏🏾🫶🏾
