The clean amp was doing that because you have the bright cap on and the treble on 6 so its pushing too much treble, try lowering the treble or turning the bright switch off and it doesn't do it
I've been really sceptical about the whole plugin idea in the QC, after all, most of not all of the amps and effects that the plugins bring are already in the unit or available as capture. I think it's mostly a new business model for Neural and not so much a must have for the users. If you're willing to put in the effort. I rather see Neural finally implementing full midi functionality... Nice vid, thanks.
it's too bad you skipped the mods and pitch fx on Gojira; that's where you'll hear the biggest differences from the factory models on the QC. The Goj Octaver is more like a Boss OC2, unlike any other QC octaver- it has 2 lower octaves. The phaser and chorus sound radically different than the factory models. Definitely worth digging a little deeper for the real bang-for-buck features on the PCOM ports.
Wow I really didn't expect the difference to be so subtle. I think you also own the plini one, could you maybe also do a comparison between that and default models on the QC? If the pattern holds then the only real value benefit of getting the plugin for a QC user might just be for those with unique weird effects like the Rabea one that might be hard to replicate. Thanks!
Good idea. I'm also thinking of getting the trial off the Soldano plugin and comparing to the models already on the QC since that plugin is next up for compatability.
The Gojira clean amp does not sound very good to my ears either. It does not sound good as a clean amp nor as an EOB amp. Even as a pedal platform, it would never be my first choice there either. I'd much rather use a clean amp for that. I think the RST amp sounds much better with the pedals than the clean amp. The RST amp on its own is the best of the 3 Gojira amps IMO, but you can get decent sounds out of the HOT model as well if you turn down the gain a bit. As you mention, The RST is very close to the stock QC EVH Blue version. I have the "real" EVH 5150 III 50-watt combo with 6L6's, and I get much better "crunch" sounds from the real amp than I can from the QC versions which has too much distortion and "flubbyness" to me vs. the real amp. I think the Amalgam captures sound better because I feel that I can hear every string and not as flubby. Especially the balanced version Thanks for doing this comparison, I need to check out the Gojira more myself.
@@davlavmusic7070 I really like the demo of the Tone King Imperial. I kind of wished I’d of took that and maybe it may go X? I wonder if Neural would let us swap it out?
Wow. That cab usage is crazy
I know. I wonder why. The only thing I can think is that the IRs for the cabs are different.
@@davlavmusic7070 Probably longer IRs who knows.
Amalgam Rules!

or at least putting in a metronome lol

Yeah, I'll likely do that, I just wanted to start with the amps. I'm not a huge user of different effects other than the ambient stuff.
the Gojira amp is based on the EVH red EL34 , which is a bit different than the 6l6 version
Yeah, I did compare the blue el34 model, but not the red. It's always hard to find the details on the plugins sometimes.

Weird about IR usage. I also liked Gojira HOT way more than stock

I’m glad I didn’t go for that plugin. So far from my personal tone preference .
Same, but I already had the Plini and Nolly and many of the others are far down the list for getting QC compatibility.

Worth a try. I also really like that plugin, but it's nowhere near getting on the QC (or even an X update).
