His pick looks super thin and flexible. I thought it would be more comfortable to play with a thick pick for more control.

Jonas Charif it's a preference thing, like choosing between hiking boots or hiking shoes. Whatever fits your fancy.

Well it definitely works for him. I wanna be able to play like him.

A thicker pick would get stuck between the strings, also consider he always plays at the end of the hole, in the area near the bridge where strings are a lot more tense and easier to get stuck into with a thicker pick. And yeah, also preference.

there's no correct pick, whatever suits his needs, as seen from how he plays, he plays just fine
