Kenneth is actively trying to break Joey. Half of this band is purposefully trying to sabotage the performance, and it's just the best thing I've ever seen.
@@giovanna722 Sure! In the second song Joey is trying very hard to keep up with Kenneth, guitar-wise. Kenneth delights in pushing the song faster and playing his part as creatively and unpredictably as possible. It all plays into the bit they're doing in the banter about Kenneth being a better guitar player. 'Purposfuly sabotage ' is a bit of hyperbole, but Kenneth is really very gleefully challenging Joey. And it's all payback for all the silly jokes Joey makes at Kenneth's expense. I just love seeing Joey try so hard to play his (supporting) part, while also trying to keep up his deadpan quips and composure. It's all part of the antagonistic comedy that these guys do, which is so entertaining to me!
@@ljm792 LOL I love the Milk Carton Kids' antagonistic solos. There's a video somewhere where Kenneth trolls Joey in the solo to their song "Heaven" and Joey has the biggest grin when he gets to sing "Go to hell!" at the end of it.

Kenneth is a walking solo. I don't think his hands allow him to play rhythm.
Actually Joey has to do a real effort to follow Kenneth's rubato.
Not like S&G to me. Joey reminds me of Gene Clark or Gram Parsons, sounds of the Byrds....
