Minecraft is a processor-based game. So no matter you have 2 or 4 gb ram, you should have a good processor

it's also kind of weird that a laptop with 2gb ram is very laggy on Minecraft but my phone with slower 2gb ram runs Minecraft at 30fps and in rare cases, 45fps and that is inside a world
I just realized that the laptop was using Java Edition and Bedrock Edition is a lot more optimized for devices that are a lot weaker than an average laptop
And Pocket Edition is basically Bedrock Edition but ported to mobile

Yeah,plus try reducing the version to 1.12-1.16 this greatly improves performance and minecraft is cpu based so an i3 9th is enough ig,and minecraft on 8-16 chunkc barely uses much ram.i played it on my ryzen 5 5500u 16gb ram build and it barely took 3gb ram while playing 16-24 chunks.
I was able to play minecraft 1.16 with 50+ fps on my old intel i3 5th gen intel HD graphics 5500 4.5 gb ram with some lag spikes.i put the graphics to medium and ran pretty good

Yes, but my laptop with AMD Ryzen 3 5300U and AMD Radeon Vega 6 can get up to like 400 FPS at best with Sodium or Rubidium.

Bro... Lower the resolution... Play in 640×480 and use 1.13 release instead of 1.16... and if you can use 1.13 optifine and also lower every graphics settings and you're good to go... I used to get over 300fps with these settings... Laptop specifications are :- 2gb ram, no gpu, intel core i3 2.53ghz, windows 10
