+Nick Johnston Hi Nick, I first saw you on a Chappers video at namm and then found this. Congrats it's rather phenomenal and wonderful...Am a huge fan now thx and God bless!
Hey guys - you can also get the complete guitar transcription for this album (PDF and Guitar Pro files included :) ) - nickjohnstonmusic.com/tablature Thanks for the support!
DUDE, I never felt such a strong connection to a musician's style such as I do to yours, seriously, I listened to Remarkably Human by chance and loved it, and now this simply blew my mind. You're incredible Nick, best wishes.
I love your songwriting nick, you can tell you are playing from the heart, definitely some of the most soulful and emotional shredding I have come across. Keep up the great work man!
I think this album tells a story of a man that's not particularly good not bad. He does bad things, and he does good things. He hangs out with bad people, he helps good people. And the whole time, he's trying to figure out who he really is, and which side he's really on. But in the end, he just knows he's himself, and that's good enough for him.
Whenever I come back to this album it makes me smile, like a lot of guitarists out there I listen to heaps of instrumental albums, and this one stands out to me melodically. Just awesome Nick!
Thank you, what a treat just seen your interview with Captain Lee and came over for a listen. I love your sympathy for what you are playing, I'm new to guitar but was a professional musician for over 15 years and I am inspired by what you play. Again, thank you.
+Martin Newsome I agree 100%, it was a great interview, Nick you're a well spoken guy an inspirational guitar player like Martin said, it was a pleasure to have watched.
Having never heard this album before, I could tell it was Nick Johnston by the first listen as it popped in my TH-cam playlist, without looking at the screen. Such a stand-out artist.
After some time listening to Remarkably Human, I've put on Atomic Mind as family supper music. My daughter, 15 years old who enjoys heavy music, after few minutes of listening, said: is this the Johnston guy? So, good sir, if this was Your life dream, You've achieved it :) Godspeed
Definitely one of the best albums I've ever heard..absolutely amazing !! Flawless technique, stunning melodic solos and...a little Govanish touch, couldn't ask for more !! Thank you for this ear candy Nick !!!
Such an amazing album. Last Deals of Dead Men gives me goosebumps every time and by the end of it tears are always forming. Something very emotional about that song that hits me very hard.
Some of the sweetest blues licks I've ever heard around 42:00 I thought I was going to cry but it was just the onions. well on your way to greatness Nick.
"Last Deals Of Dead Men" I guess i never heard a song who's making me travel so far, you are a real source of inspiration for me tho... Keep on rockin' !! I love your album
1 0 Atomic Mind 2 4:30 Ghost of the Robot Graveyards 3 9:52 Last Deals of Dead Men 4 16:12 Silver Tongued Devil 5 24:28 Out of the Wasteland 6 28:00 Wonderful Madness 7 33:08 Ultra-Force 8 37:56 Scoundrel’s Lounge 9 44:26 Lost in a Dream 10 48:35 My Final Days on a Doomed Planet some truly great music - I was always a Joe Satriani fan and now a Johnston fan as well!!
I absolutely adore Nick's playing! A rare and unique talent for sure! Can't stop listening. As a matter of fact I will not stop listening. Thank you Mr. Johnston!
Every day many people force me again and again to lose faith in humanity, many people are dedicated only to take advantage of others, many people are determined to continue destroying the world, many others live completely focused on themselves and In the material world full of glamor, unfortunately very few inspire other people, despite all the above, your Nick, this record, your way of sharing and your disinterest in worldly things, make me regain faith in humanity. Thank you for your music, I am absolutely sure that it comes out of your heart, so it is heard, brilliant!
It was hard to write this comment. Had to do it with one hand since my other one was holding my jaw from hitting the floor. RAW TALENT!!! Love the groove man!
Hey Nick, que gran trabajo, no te conocia, ahora te escucho y haces que tu guitarra sea un poema que nunca se cansa uno de recitar. Alberto from Barranquilla, Colombia.
A return to good Strat-Marshall tone with medium gain, including song-writing/composition, where technique and shred-flash serve the purpose of providing a structural or climactic function for the song. Refreshing and compelling.
Out of the Wasteland really sealed this one in the 'like' column for me. The first 15 seconds sound so similar to Final Fantasy 7's Electric de Chocobo! Every time I hear it I feel good.
I found you because I clicked on Remarkably Human after it popped up in my recommended from Petrucci's solo album Suspended Animation. You rock Nick, got some great records. I am now a fan. From one aspiring musician to an actual professional musician, keep rockin
When I listened to Remarkably Human, I was like "oh I have to buy it when I'm off work!" and then I listened to Atomic Mind and went all "screw work, I'm buying this right now!" ... yeah and so I did. Totally bought the two albums from my workstation, because I couldn't contain myself :D
Atomic Mind has blown my mind! Very few guitar instrumentalists can make an album that is more than repetitive shred (which becomes boring). Your stuff is easily in the league of the greats, great tasty licks, very inventive chord textures and changes, and melody! Songs that truly sing.
Instrumental of the year! Ladies and gentemen, Mr. Nick Johnston. You're one of my biggest inspirations, I jam with this all the time. Congragulations. Greetings from México.
From the first time I heard Nick, I thought that, somehow, he knew the Aristocrats. But to have worked with them....wow I love all things Nick Johnston Thank you for your contribution to modern day music. You and Guthrie are, for me, the top two, today ! Cheers ^_^
There is a sound at around 8:01 which sounds exactly like the facebook website message alert (it's quite quiet). Every time I get to this point in the album, I find myself checking if I have a facebook tab open. Anyone else?
You are amazing man. Thanks for giving this out for free for people to listen to. I've been a student up till now. Cant wait for my first salary just so that I can buy your music and support artists like you!!!
Love the off-pitch slides and shifts - intentional 'bum notes' that miraculously heal themselves, key-shifts that transport one even further, with melodic schredding all over the scale. Awesome.... Then back home for tea and sitcky buns!; back to solid, dependable rhythmn and melodies... RIffs that we all wish we'd thought of first...lol.
damn dude Last Deals of Dead men gives me the feels. well done on a fantastic album. as a fledgling guitar player it is people like you that keep me from giving up :)
Olá Nick , sou um admirador do seu trabalhado , gosto de seus álbuns em geral , atomic mind , wide eyes in the dark , remarkably human , Young language parabéns pelas composições e pelo seu trabalho 👏🎸

+Nick Johnston Still bought on itunes :). Man, you've got to make a video playing Ultraforce!!!
I suggest to release a backing track album. Many players might need it.
Jesus ... ''Last deals of dead men''.....STRAIGHT FROM THE SOUL BROTHER...GOD BLESS YOU MAN!
I second that backing track
The last two full albums were just what i needed. First paycheck from a new job and i'm paying for them.
DUDE, I never felt such a strong connection to a musician's style such as I do to yours, seriously, I listened to Remarkably Human by chance and loved it, and now this simply blew my mind. You're incredible Nick, best wishes.
I just discovered this guy and feel like I have been living under a rock because of it. Incredible guitar player and musician in general.
Mild Menace when you're high af xD
Atomic mind, baby.. :D
My story exactly
I think any music that can evoke such imagery in one's mind is a success. Very cool.
Isn't that basically the story of every single man who ever lived?
Ghost of the Robot Graveyard is so catchy!
Whenever I come back to this album it makes me smile, like a lot of guitarists out there I listen to heaps of instrumental albums, and this one stands out to me melodically. Just awesome Nick!
a friend turned me on to Atomic Mind and now it is almost all I can listen too. Wonderful guitarist.
Thank you, what a treat just seen your interview with Captain Lee and came over for a listen. I love your sympathy for what you are playing, I'm new to guitar but was a professional musician for over 15 years and I am inspired by what you play. Again, thank you.

keith merrow brought me here too. and now my dad is a huge fan lol
Its so hard to find speedy and articulate guitar players that are also approachable. Kudos to you bossman, you're a rare breed.
My new favorite guitarist 🎸
Atomic Mind really feels like something Opeth would write I really dig the vibe.
I got the same feeling as well!
Last Deals Of Dead Men - definitely one of the most beautiful and cozy guitar instrumentals ever to be made!
Having never heard this album before, I could tell it was Nick Johnston by the first listen as it popped in my TH-cam playlist, without looking at the screen. Such a stand-out artist.
Silver Tongued Devil: Nick Johnston meets The Aristocrats! Just spectacular.
Bryan Beller sent me here, so glad he did. This is a beautiful body of work, can't even pick a favourite. Good on you.
Nick Johnston feat. The Aristocrats
After some time listening to Remarkably Human, I've put on Atomic Mind as family supper music. My daughter, 15 years old who enjoys heavy music, after few minutes of listening, said: is this the Johnston guy?
So, good sir, if this was Your life dream, You've achieved it :)
Godspeed
Haha that’s funny! Thanks for the kind words
Fell in love with 'Ghost Of The Robot Graveyard'... Such cool playful melody and amazing soloing!! Really superb
Lovely, wonderful melodies. I also like how Marco and Bryan collaborate in a way that makes the songs get more lively.
Definitely one of the best albums I've ever heard..absolutely amazing !! Flawless technique, stunning melodic solos and...a little Govanish touch, couldn't ask for more !! Thank you for this ear candy Nick !!!
Atomic Mind reminds me of the Opeth´s song 'Harvest'
yes u are right. but harvest more faster
Such an amazing album.
Last Deals of Dead Men gives me goosebumps every time and by the end of it tears are always forming.
Something very emotional about that song that hits me very hard.
Some of the sweetest blues licks I've ever heard around 42:00
I thought I was going to cry but it was just the onions.
well on your way to greatness Nick.
"Last Deals Of Dead Men" I guess i never heard a song who's making me travel so far, you are a real source of inspiration for me tho... Keep on rockin' !! I love your album

The opening of My Final Days On A Doomed Planet screams James Bond at me, LOVE IT!
I hate social media and all that shit. The only reason why I love it is because you can find phenomenal music without even looking for it
Ghost of the robot graveyard reminds me pink panter theme, cool

Every day many people force me again and again to lose faith in humanity, many people are dedicated only to take advantage of others, many people are determined to continue destroying the world, many others live completely focused on themselves and In the material world full of glamor, unfortunately very few inspire other people, despite all the above, your Nick, this record, your way of sharing and your disinterest in worldly things, make me regain faith in humanity.

Very unique sound, Nick. Can't get enough of it. Especially your 'Remarkably Human' album...
Ghost of the robot surprised me and hit the right spot.
How it's possible..57 dislike. this is not a Trump video or car death compilation. it's just relaxing and enjoyable music. No words..
