HUAWEI would be at the top of the world if it doesn't get banned by Google
Strangely no mention of wireless charging and waterproofing of the Flip 3, not to mention the software additions related to the form factor 🤔.
True. For flip phones, the top 1 priority is the safety of the phone as it is more vulnerable to breakage compared to normal phones. So the Waterproofing alone is enough for the Flip 3 to win this battle for me. And if you combine it to the price, the Flip 3 becomes more unbeatable.

To be honest, who cares. Who drops their phone on the water, it's not an important feature. Look at the battery, you would need to charge it everyday.
The 5G, Google services, the Waterproofing and most importantly, the price on the Samsung Z Flip 3 took the win for me.

Even though there's other msia tech youtuber, it is good to have more opinion from other reviewers like you and technave and few others, keep up the good work.
Both phones really look good but it really depends now on your own preferences. For me, Z flip 3's cover screen is better because it is larger and more useable than that of P50P. Also, I noticed it in the video that it did not include z flip's waterproofing/resistance rating which is really important and winning piece of the phone. 5g capability on Z flip 3 which is good if you plan to use it for 2-3 years or more. Lastly, the price, which I think everyone know which is which..
Definitely ip rating should consider to buy a device in this price range

I'm a huge Huawei fan but tbh i quite didn't love the look of p50 pocket. One thing is the detached camera circle's. , they didn't look as cool as the regular p50 pro where that phone had attached camera circle and that doesn't look like an afterthought. The next thing is the back body design, that diamond circle's on the back doesn't look that good to me, honestly looks like a cheap skin applied. I have used the p50 pro and that one catches a lot of 👁️

The Samsung water resistance, better speakers, the flip camera option has zoom out, the 5G capabilities, the lower price, wireless charging, the better hinge mechanism, the better application options as a resultant of the software. Come on.

Have you tried the hinge angle capability? From what i’ve heard, huawei p50 pocket can not stay at the 45 degree folding angle, it would flop back to flat, unlike the z flip 3, also, does the huawei have an ip rating?

There's a vivid option on the Samsung Flip I think he's using the standard display instead for comparison. Cover screen camera of flip 3 doesn't crop your head either he was using a video mode so it makes it a bit more zoomed in but there's an option to zoom out as well. I have no issues with my flip 3 yet for 5 months of purchase and I can say if you just wanted to go for a phone that fits everywhere and is waterproof, buy Samsung flip 3. It's protected by gorilla glass and the speakers on it are bang on too 👌 and I think this video comparison is just hyping up the new Huawei pocket. Plus he forgot to mention that folding the flip 3 is better because it holds so much better unlike Huawei pocket folding mechanism isn't stable.
For me, yes, having a tight close for P50 pocket is nice to see. But I was wondering, if lets say some dust slip on the screen right before you flip it, then the dust can stay and stuck together until you unflip it. For Flip 3, the gap, yes to let the dust in but at least the dust not sticking and bum with each other screen. Only my 2 cents.

Samsung . no doubt.
Huawei is nice but the pricing is much steeper and it lacks 5G.. if Android services were back on it, I would still consider.. but with the overall value proposition, the P50 is still not as good as the Z Flip.. sadly
You use 5G on the Flip's tiny battery and good luck. The Pocket has 20% larger battery and 4G so consumes less energy. The reality is a device like this does not need all the bells and whistles and even no GMS is no big deal as it is a casual users phone.
Latest software update on my Z3 (February 2022) has increased battery life noticeably. The Z3 is an astonishing phone and I'm happy with mine.

None of those matter to me; for a casual device the 5G is not essential, GMS do not miss on my Huawei phone, and water-resistance, I have never dropped any phone in water and keep them away (the Pocket is resistant to drops and rain, not submersion.

It doesn't come with TH-cam, but you can install Vanced TH-cam which is similar to TH-cam Premium.

samsung ZFlip 3 is superior. 5G, waterproof, FLEX MODE and cover screen are better characteristics compared to Huawei P50 pocket

Nice review. Just little weird listening some people (and also you) pronouncing Market (markit.. Phoenix pronunciation) or Pocket different way. Thought I heard wrongly but after consult my UK customer, he smiles. People tried to pronounce slang but it is wrong. Can you check os that I can enjoy listening without weird pronunciations for Market and Pocket.

Sorry Lim but I have to disagree. There are more functions of the zflip3 that you did not mention. The IP rating is important also the gap in the center of the zflip make it less vulnerable to crack since if you have a dust on the screen and you fold it then goodluck. And also the design and look of the huawei looks very cheap to me not premium 😁

Samsung Z flip 3 supports 35watt charger, but you must buy it separately because Z flip 3 doesn't include any charger at all
Huawei won jut because Samsung made the Z flip in 2019 and released it febr 2020. Huawei team used Z flip and made some improvements and released their p50 pocket on Decemba 2021. Wait for samsung to release a new version

The P50 is definitely better crafted and built but the Flip 3 is more practical and logical choice for all the obvious reasons.

Just my two cents here. I really liked p50 pocket's camera quality and battery life over flip 3....BUT
No 5G, No Android, much smaller outside screen (1/4 to be exact).
We are in 2022 you know...your whole review is biased and I really hope you didnt change anybodys mind bu all this biased review.
P.S The look and style...up to a point is about personal preference but this two devices are day and night! Totally superior look for flip3

I love Huawei. I have Huawei p40 and battery life and quality is much better than iphone and the others. And much affordable!. I don't care about google services, don't need them . There are many apps you can download though apk and even no subscription.
So many people hating on Huawei in the comments because it's Chinese I'm sure they never tried one. It's a game changer.

korean reviewing vids always say Z Flip 3 is better than P50P because of its wireless charging, dust/waterproof, 5G, etc-
and other vids say P50P is better bc there are better cameras, full folding, and longer battery duration.
both of them do NOT have any mention of their best phone's disadvantages.
I am sorry but I don't really think this video has a fair comparison bc of these reasons, including other vids :(
and- to add some disadvantages of those phones, Z Flip 3's cameras are especially bad than other Samsung phones and P50P's no wireless charging came so badly to me ;(
There is no doubt that the P50 Pocket is the superior flip phone in nearly every regard. It is classy and with a far more useable design. Of course, the price reflects that, but I would def pay the extra for the Pocket and I have no issues with regard to GMS being absent.
Samsung really needs to step their game up. They have been sending out sub-par devices due to their monopoly and now we see new foldable's, we can see how far Samsung is behind with the fundamental concept of these form factors. So Samsung needs; a better aspect ratio when open (wider), needs a three wing hinge to enable no gap, and also reduce the crease and the stress on the plastic due to the poor hinge design. It also needs to look better, it def looks like a kids toy and at $999 is way to expensive. After six months Samsung only offers about £350 trade-in for the Flip3 showing how the secondhand market has bombed as people get over the initial honeymoon period.
Out of all the foldable's the OPPO Find N remains my de facto choice as it offers far less compromises. Followed by the Honor V and Huawei Mate X2. All these are keeping their value tremendously whilst the Flip and Fold are in freefall, so kudos to these Chinese OEMs, they took their time and got it right rather than trying for bragging rights.

I don't know why ppl cry over the android doesn't have in Huawei phone,Emui system way faster , I'm using Huawei p30 pro while my husband using Samsung Android system,I always feel it is slowly and annoying ,I used to use apple system but way easy adopt to Emui system than the android, I can also download Google store /goolge play do all the things other phones can do but you need go use your brain to download it 😑😑 regarding the flip phone what matter is the price coz there have a lot difference. But I would say definitely Huawei pocket,wound lasting for 5 years +
The Huawei copy Samsung game has started again. But I burst out laughing when he was pointing the Flip3 cover screen directly into his studio light and then just showing the P50P cover screen in normal light and says "the P50p is much clearer.... LOL dude!!!!

I can not believe the nerve of this guy telling us Huawei is running on emui12, not android. Dude, this phone (and every other Huawei phone) runs on Android 10, EMUI is just an interface. What Huawei has done with EMUI 12 is triying to make people forget about the fact that they dropped their Harmony OS and decided that they will be better off going with android 10 instead. The fact that all their new devices run on Android version which is 2+ years old is very embarrasing to them, so they try to hide it any way they can. For example, when you go to system info on your phone, it used to say that you are using Android10, and EMUI11. But, since Emui 12 has been introduced (in May 2022 for my P30pro, and in August 2022 for my Huawei mate 10 pro) it no longer say that. It only mentions EMUI12 now. You can not run a phone on user interface, it needs a system.
Being biased is one thing, but telling info which is not true is something else.
