Saw this video when it dropped and fell in love, finally got my hands on my own elite yesterday and cant wait to detail it and mob with the boys this summer!
What an amazing before-and-after! Your detail skills are first rate! It sits in a barn for 15 years. Change out the old fuel and battery and it starts right up. This just goes to show how good the Honda design is! The Honda GY6 motor is the one everyone copies (especially the Chinese). Enjoy your new toy...but you'll probably want to change out the tires based on age, even if there's lots of tread left.
Nicely done. Looks like new. Did you replace the air filter? I just resurrected my 49 cc 1987 Honda Elite SE50 2 cycle scooter that sat in my race car trailer since 1997. The foam filter crumbled into dust when removing it. Drained the fuel in the tank, installed a new air filter, added treated with Seafoam fresh fuel, new battery. I thought for certain I would have to rebuild the carb. A large dose of Seafoam motor cleaner and it cleaned up over several days running and cycling engine speeds. No plug change needed. 2800 miles on mine. Runs like a champ.
I scored a 1984 Elite 125 and 1985 Elite 150 a week ago and can't wait to get both running good. The 125 is already on the road but the 150 had no carb. They don't make them like they used to. Get one of these current scooters and park it a year and good luck getting it running.
I daily drive a 91’ Honda Lead in northern Germany (basically the same). They are some of the most reliable and good looking scooters. 👌🏼 mine has over 30,000km on it and still running and starting strong.
In exchange for work.. a friend gave me a 1985 elite 250.. complete. Looks nice.. from cal. Moved and Rode it here. Must have bumped a curb.. dented the right shock. We put in a battery.. everything lights up.. cranks good. Good spark.. the gas tank is empty but clean. I spray some starting fluid in air box.. crank a few times.. it runs. We change the fluids.. and take turns riding it. He wants to buy it. Last licensed in 1990.
You scare tf outta me with that gas pressure washer lol you need a small electric one and put a larger size orifice nozzle on it to dial it back to 8-1200 psi so you don’t risk damaging things by accident, no hate have just seen too many things go wrong. Great video as always tho man, I’ve got a old Honda Helix that hasn’t been touched in a few years I might have to clean that bitch up now lol
@@evannoriega-thomas371 I used to film everything by hand but now I just throw it on my tripod and tilt it! Some of the shots are still by hand though because the tripod can’t go as low as I need it too sometimes haha
How did you handle the licensing of this vehicle after it had been unregistered for so many years? What state are you in and did they try to charge you fees for each year that it was not registered?
Think I would have pressure washed it with the panels off first. Let it dry while you clean the panels off of the scooter, then when everything is good and dry reassemble it. Then a final detail after assembly.
Hey man. How much do you think these scooters are worth in the same condition as yours all original with manuals and original tools with only 1,500 miles? I recently purchased one that runs perfect and is the same exact model, color, and year as this one you have restored and I would like to know if I bought it for a good price and if it is worth allot.
My good neighbor just gifted me his 94 honda elite 80. It turns over but won't start. I am new to scooters and can not get the left rear side cover off. Your video is the best I have seem showing removal of panel but I still can not remove it. I would appreciate any help. Thanks
What is the fast correcting cream comparable to in say Meguiars brand? What pad were you using on the mini orbital polisher? It's pretty impressive what a little polishing can do to the finish.
@@AidanTemplin oh haha that’s funny, I was like damn them scoots 80cc beast! Yeah those landcruiser are awesome I have had a few of them. Your vids are dope dude keep it up.
Noooooooo.... don't waste that Griot's Garage Speedshine on anything other than paint! Also, power wash is a big no no for bikes, especially 80s honda electronic components.
sooo... lemme get this straight ... you just start it and it runs ?? ... no clugged carburator ... no new spark plug ... no swap fuel / vacuum hoses ? that gas looks more fresh than my gas from 1 day ago xD cmon man ... i have a gilera runner vx 125 2010 and its been sitting for 4 years ... the fuel lines were breaking into little pieces ... gas smelled and looked like old peoples piss ...just starts after 15 years .. yea right :))) hahahaha
The more Elites you and your friends get, the more I want one.
I highly recommend!
If you get an elite, get a 2 stroke elite they are the best ones ;)
@Alex Bahena that's too much they were 2200 new
3 of 4 of mine were stolen
Man this was so satisfying. Thanks Jimmy for getting us to know Aidan's channel. Amazing content, keep it up!
Big up’s yo thank you!!
We're restoring our college 1986 Honda 80 this summer, thanks for all the info and products used! Nice job!
I love these old designs of vehicles from this era. Mowers, cars, you name it. Flat geometry and square. I love it.
What Era? They made this scooter unchanged for 22 years 1985 -2007
Scooters! Do more bro! Honda!!! I remember my teenage times.
That final shot bro!!😭🤌 Imagine having friends that’s will spend a full day polishing your hog 😫
Still waiting to polish your hog 😳👉🏻👈🏻
Found this channel because of wheel restoration on E30, subscribed because of this video.
Man that scooter is gangster. !! Great job as always man
It drives as good as it looks! Thank you!

I am doing the same thing to a Yellow One. Only 1300 original miles in 22 years. Beautiful BIKES...
she cleaned up real good!
Agreed! I still can’t believe how good of shape it’s in!
Honda outdid itself with these little scooters. I'm rebuilding two as we speak.
Friend just gave me a 2002 with 1500 miles on it.. Looking forward to fixing it up. Thanks for the video
