Love it! My main concern is winning games THIS SEASON, not which number a young man chooses to wear on his jersey. Heritage and history is exactly what's been holding this program back the past decade. DC played 44 years ago…I understand as fans and ex-players get older there’s the desire to desperately grasp at relevancy. Getting old sucks.
44 is a retired football number not basketball…give it a rest. However, Lambkin potentially could be gracious and decide not to request this number. For many it’s a “sacred” number which should only be used for a high quality football Floyd Little back. Let the athletic department decide and take responsibility for the back lash.
I would say no he might be a talented player but he has not proven himself worthy of it in the eyes of a lot of the #ORANGENATION fanbase having not yet played a game actually.
No. Just no. Lampkin has yet to play a game. Bring home the trophy first, then find something else nice to do for him. Then what? What will we give away next, we gave up the Garden. Now give away our heritage our history away.

Isn’t the number 22 in Syracuse Lacrosse being worn? Let him wear it!
Yes! Great guy. Great player. Does all the dirty work. And hes prob the most important player on the team this year.
What’s your take?
SU retires jerseys for basketball NOT numbers. The jersey in the rafters says Coleman on it. They did that for a reason

Full career for freeman will probably be one year but second year yes.
The old tradition was to pass the number on not retire the number at all in football
As Jim Brown did to Ernie Davis then to Floid Little. Plus it helped recruiting.
I do have a question ? Is number 44 on the basketball rafters with John Wallace's jersey . Seems like it should be if no.
Absolutely not!!!!!!
