The Wildcats are now 7-5 with small margin losses, which goes to show that this game was a legitimate win for NDSU. With a 7-3 FBS record so far, and an average win spread of over 20 points a game, this 2013 team could give any of the biggest names in college football a run for their money.
Chris Klieman, recently named the new coach at KSU was an NDSU assistant for this game. When Craig Bohl went to Wyoming following the 2013 season Chris Klieman took over as the Bison head coach. Interestingly the back up Bison qb for this game was Carson Wentz.
I've been watching both Craig bolh, & Chris Klieman this season & both are having seasons so far. The last BISON football show that Craig bolh was on, he stated, " The Program" is in place, if NDSU continues to follow The Program I expect them to keep winning! & They have. +Jack V We have an excellent DB that was injured that game. We are much more solid in pass D now. Still not as good as the last few years, but much better than the UM game.
This isn't anywhere near the team KSU had 10 months ago. No Collin Klein and the defense lost all of its studs including Arthur Brown, Meshak Williams, etc.
@Derek Johansen TiDom So are you saying Jake Waters is better than Collin Klein? And then you're trashing Collin Klein. Are you fucking kidding me? Was Jake Waters ever in any consideration for Heisman or Big 12 Player of the Year? Take a look at Klein's collegiate achievement. And this was Water's first game btw. Michael Bishop, Collin Klein, Ell Roberson, all better in college than any NDSU QB. I assume you're referring to the guy that Nick Foles has carried. But we're talking college careers here. And who the fuck was the other NFL caliber WR besides Lockett? You seriously have no idea what you're talking about. Not to mention K-State's defense lost a ton of significant players. They were one bad night in Waco from playing for a national title in 2012. Nowhere close to that in 2013. Your argument that those teams were even close to the same caliber is laughable.
@@TheAiDaN2110 The only K State QB I've ever heard of was Chad May and he was a chubby little turd who ran like my grandma. Face it, only people in Manhattan know or care about your team.

NDSU lost their athletic director and a football coach to KState because of that game. Your greatest drive was a blessing for KState and not so much for you!
terrible 3rd down defense.....NDSU got nothing on 1st down while they were in their territory. 1st 3 3rd downs KSU defense should of got off the field and forced a punt. Terrible D
@Derek Johansen TiDom Easy there wildman, K-State started this season like 2-5 because we lost one of the best players and leaders to ever walk on a football field to graduation and we had a quarterback debacle on our hands. I'm not shitting on NDSU by any means however if we had played in mid November I think the results would have been different. Thanks for the coach by the way!
@Derek Johansen TiDom Keep your fantasies if you must, your head coach is moving on to bigger and better things as will many of his assistants and probably even a few of his players. I guess we will have to see if he can transition to real football, and how NDSU will fare without him. Bye bye now, take care.
@Derek Johansen TiDom Obviously your former coach thinks it's bigger and better things or he wouldn't have taken the job. I hope he builds off of our hall of fame coach and bring us some Big 12 championships like his predecessor did. That of course is better than winning any number of FCS Nattys seeing as how NDSU wouldn't sniff a Big 12 championship with any team they've ever had.
@Derek Johansen TiDom I don't call beating a rebuilding team early in the season by 3 points on a long drive that was in danger of stalling several times "roasting" them. I don't think you should lean too much on the Sagarin rating as its very, very theoretical and besides two Big 12 teams are ahead of you in the ratings. So go by that if you want to but you still wouldn't be close to a Big 12 championship, hell you wouldn't have even been in the game. Again keep your delusions if that's what makes you feel better about yourself but the fact remains that NDSU is a big fish in a small pond, and if they had to play a P5 schedule they probably would be at best a 6-6 team.
Greatest Drive? But there were so many stupid plays, sacks, no gain runs etc. the result was wonderful as a result of terrific big plays, but the entire drive? Don’t think so. The runs are horrible, They need to pass on every down, use deception, that should open up a few nice runs when they get close. If you add up the positive gain plays it’s not a decent percentage. I’m a huge fan of the North and South Dakota teams I love upsets. The clock management is excellent. I remember the score of this game but it wasn’t on in my area.
Not every play on a successful drive is going to gain yards. The fact they called some stupid plays, had plays for no gain, and still managed to control the clock and run 19 plays against the defending Big 12 champs to do so is EXACTLY why it was a great drive.
Tyler McComb Stop making excuses. You keep trying to downplay what NDSU has done because you are just mad that NDSU beat your almighty FBS team. A smart fan regardless of team knows when to give credit where its due. Dumb fans try to make excuses and downplay the achievement of a team.
ruen125 im not making excuses... you guys beat us. fair and square. I'm just saying it would have been a very different game if it was played in the 2012 season. we were a pretty terrible team in 2013.
That "pile of shit team" had a number 2 overall pick in the NFL on the bench in this game. Carson Wentz was an early favorite for MVP in his second year in the league before blowing out a knee. The guy only started for 2 years at NDSU. His career was bookended by two guys who BOTH ended their careers as the winningest QBs in FCS history. Texas hasn't scared anyone for the better part of a decade and only beat this K State team by a TD more than NDSU...AT HOME. Besides the year they beat USC, you have to go back to the days of Earl Campbell to remember when Texas was a dominant team. All this on an athletic budget that could bankroll a number of small nations.

NDSU has most all of their opponents defense with their hands on their hips and gasping for air by the 3rd quarter.
They weren't ready for the first game. The way they play now is completely different and it would be fun to see how the game would go now that K-State has gotten their act together.
just cause we lost to Montana doesn't mean we're bad lol, they're a good team js. but we need some DBs like fr
+Jack V We have an excellent DB that was injured that game. We are much more solid in pass D now. Still not as good as the last few years, but much better than the UM game.
You look like this guy I met in San Diego
We probably met in Hebron when I brought some XBOXs over to your brother's house. Could be a case of mistaken identity though.
Of course he was just an assistant coach then... and he also beat you as a player (at Northern Iowa)!
Let's just get rid of the FCS and FBS subdivisions and make it all D1
Hot and humid in Kansas you say ? .... get outta town...
Oh no. An FCS team at home! 🙄
Meatgrinderrrrr
Need a reminder of how bad KSU? Watch this video.
+AmericanMetalhead100 Dude lay off. Do you realize how bad that football program was in 1989? They were considering dropping football altogether. In the world of college football coaching, Bill Snyder is a man amongst men.
This is coming from a dyed in the wool lifetime NU fan btw.
when replying to someone you should hit reply so they know what your talking about but im guessing your on your phone so you cant
So that's why they beat K state this year?
NDSU lost their athletic director and a football coach to KState because of that game. Your greatest drive was a blessing for KState and not so much for you!
Lol ask Pete Carroll about our fan base
Please do not say that NDSU could beat most Big12 teams. It gives SEC plus Pac 12 reason to put themselves as the almighty race when they aren't.
@Derek Johansen or something The Big Ten and Big 12 have learned their lessons, and starting next year we'll see the Pac 12 start learning theirs.
Finish 8-4 if d1 unless there in the sec
terrible 3rd down defense.....NDSU got nothing on 1st down while they were in their territory. 1st 3 3rd downs KSU defense should of got off the field and forced a punt. Terrible D
+lukkyluciano lol umad?
no not at all. Just commenting. I'm a Pitt fan.
+TheSquishey ya he mad tho
ndsu would destroy pitt
Why even play a fcs team there's no benefit if you win, if you lose you will fall out of the top 25
Haha K-State got its revenge.
Not really
If you can't beat the coach, buy him.
greatest drive in "history"? Lol
The whitest team in CFB
NDSU had to enjoy that win because they know it will never happen again!! GO CATS!! #EMAW
@Derek Johansen TiDom Lol jealousy doesn't become you my friend.
4 tackles for a loss in the span of 20 yards? Pretty far from great.
Fpk Hk416 That's what you gleaned from this?
And yet, despite the setbacks, NDSU didn't wilt under the pressure and kept moving forward.
good game, too bad they played us in a rebuilding season, if it was 2012 season we wouldve killed em.
Excuses won't change the fact that K State still lost to NDSU. Bison has won 25 straight games in a row (most in college football ever) for a reason.
ruen125 not to mention they just won again today against Iowa State, 5 in a row now vs FBS, bring them up already, they're too good for FCS
iowa state is the worst team in the big 12...
Too bad the weather is so shitting in North Dakota.
hah, please bro. I know texas has had a rough year, but they would never lose to a pile of shit FCS team at home like K State would
That "pile of shit team" had a number 2 overall pick in the NFL on the bench in this game.
Iowa football
what about iowa fb?
Iowa sucks
