  • This is a method of installing a shoot through hull transducer in the interior of a kayak hull. An inexpensive flip flop or sandal was used as the mounting "well." This tutorial was made using a Crescent Lite Tackle kayak and Lowrance transducer but this method can be used with most kayaks and transducers. I have included the link to an earlier tutorial that I made for this project that gives an overall view of the project.

    so no cutting of the kayak at all. basically you used the chancla to keep it still right? now the marine goo? was used for the chancla only. or did you put it on the whole bottom. pf the chancla an transducer?? like why couldnt you use supper glue or what not?? thanks

      You can't use super glue. The goop acts as a medium for the signal like water would. I put a thin film of goop on the bottom of the chancla and filled the well with goop.

    If the transducer ever pops off the hull is the marine goop soft enough to peel off and reapply?

      I have installed many this way and they have never popped off. You could peel off goop if you carefully warm and soften it up with a hair dryer...not a heat gun.

    Nice, did you try duct seal putty also?

      I have not but I know others have used it. This method allows me to install it and forget it...lol

    nice video. how filled out with the goop is the pad? only on the sides, or bottom? how thick is the layer inside the pad?

      Thanks. I filled the inside of the pad about 1/2 way so the excess would spill over the sides.

      hello friend. is there any way I can send you my installation? I believe I almost got it, but I think there's something funny with my transducer readings. I just would like to confirm it. thank you

    This works perfect for my Ascent FS10 Kayak. I now have a triple layer Old Town Loon Hull and it does not pass signal through the hull.. Anyone have suggestions?

      Glad to help. Are you getting any signal?

    • @quarterpanel
      @quarterpanel 6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@Aksmaniyak Unfortunately not. I found out this kayak has a triple layer hull where the middle thin layer is buoyancy foam that is blocking the signal.

    How would I know if it's not working right if there's air pocket in the containment

      Your signal/screen data will be really bad.
