There is no way a 24 hour train trip is worth 4600 dollars. That is crazy but thanks for doing it and showing the rest of us peasants your journey
Especially compared to the same time from Brisbane to Cairns, at a fraction of tge price plus sleeper pods!!! Watch his video.
A gold class solo fare on The Indian Pacific is AUD$800 to $1200 (low to high season) which is around US$540 to $800. Still a lot but the Gold Class is just about as good as the Platinum class only they don't tuck you in and read you a bedtime story.
Yeah, as much as I love trains, I would take the plane and spend a night in a 5 star hotel and eat at some Michelin stared restaurants. And it would still be cheaper!
You often say "the only thing not fitting in is me". Kuga, I think you fit in just fine 😄 You're a seasoned traveller who loves adventure, so you can fit in anywhere! It takes a lot of courage to do it all solo as well.
Thanks for another wonderful journey!🎉
I love how you don’t converse with people on the trip yet you are via TH-cam with hundreds of thousands of us sharing along with your experience. Thank you.
Moreton Bay, QLD AUSTRALIA
I love your videos. You have a wonderful sense of humor. You actually make me laugh out loud when I'm by myself. Thank you❤
Those little blue chocolates they give you are exclusive and very yummy - and so they should be, it is the most expensive chocolate in the world given the cabin cost 😂. With the nightcap - when I travelled Perth to Sydney, the attendant asked if I would like Baileys or Port. My response - yes. So I was duly left one of each for the 3 nights..
Somebody buy this guy some socks that don’t cost $3000 US…
Expensive but perfect relaxation and the menu was fantastic including the great nightcap choice. Loved the style on the train.
Thanks for taking one for the team Kuga. Welcome to Australia - land of high prices and low value. Back in the 90's there used to be a thing called the Caper fare on the Indian Pacific - we would get that from Perth to Sydney. All you got was the seat for 4 days. Really helped to smuggle on a lot of booze to make the time pass. I think it was even cheaper than getting the bus across. Anyway, thanks again. Always wanted to see what was inside the fancy bit. Lol.
Love your videos your commentary is hilarious so funny I have been binge watching all of your videos they are wonderful the food looks amazing and you display the rooms and show every aspect of the trip ⭐️⭐️
Thankyou Kuga, Ive been a Driver on that train some years back...next time your over let me know...their is a lot of Japaneese history in Cowra NSW( you werent far from that) and a memorial garden too the POWs and their famous escape..thanks for sharing regards Doc
Top quality subtitles with first class humour - as always
yes
With THAT accent ......and you make fun of "Australian pronunciation"????🤨
Thank you once again Kuga, you always take us on the most amazing and scenic train journeys, that cabin looked very luxurious, and that food looked incredible.
Kuga this is one of the best trains i have ever seen!
I’d rather eat alone and enjoy the food than to be distracted by conversation lol
This was great. Thank you 🦘
Two different worlds watching you fill your meal card I had a flashback to your Amtrak meal card & experience.
I cannot fathom affording nonstop travel costs. But hey to each their own right.🙋🏻♀️🇨🇦🌱🐘🌱🐘🌱🐘🌱
Lol at your Australian dialect for captioning “A boddle of whader” 😂
Thanks for the videos and Sydney is still beautiful as it was when I was there last time (so long ago). I miss it so much and will get back at some day.
Amazing train, food and accommodations. Wickedly expensive!
Beautiful .Thank you Kuga❤🎉
As a comparison, I spent the same money on a 9 night cruise on Celebrity Edge from Sydney to Melbourne, Adelaide, Kangaro Island and Hobart, all inclusive of drinks and food and shore excursions! 😀
Biggest advantage is seeing the $4600 disappear more slowly. Better value for money is a Business Class (its better than 1st class) high speed train in China, only 10% the cost or Beijing to Urumqi soft sleeper for around AUD200 for the 3100km trip..
Enjoy how you thank the cow, the crew and everything else in between ;-)
To answer your question, soba is becoming more and more popular as a salad base because it's gluten free, delicious, and an alternative to pasta, bread or rice.
I'm glad you enjoyed your trip. 😊 If possible I want to catch The Great Southern for my 50th in 2026.
Thanks for the video. The cabin is quite big and the big windows are very nice. I do not understand why there would be a see through to the toilet and shower. Even travelling as a couple would be challenging.
With the whiskey maybe try an ice block, that will make it smoother
Ice in single malt?? That's just barbaric 😱
Great videos! Kuga-kun! I love how you always say ごちそうさまでした after every meal 🎉😊
The chocolate looked so lovely!
very beautiful. thank you for the video. liked it.🥰🥰
Thank you for a very enjoyable train trip…..
As an Australian the price is ridiculous, I could do 14 days in Japan for nearly the same price. Thank you Kuga great video as usual
Ashfaq from (INDIA) we feel very happy to see this journey.
Thanks for the ride. Are you the same person as the Solo solo traveler. You and he have the same comments and the same type of humor.
Thanks for the videos Kuga. From Australia :)
Thank you!🤝
Indian Pacific is really nice and we are big fans of u from india
I have a recommendation for your next trip to Australia: take the train from Sydney to Dubbo and visit the zoo at Dubbo.
I guess this would be what it would be like if Via Rail in Canada sold off their transcontinental route "The Canadian" to a private company.
Very expensive trip, you can fly many times from Adelaide to Sydney for that price, the cabin did look very spacious and comfortable and the food looked nice and Great video it’s interesting to see what’s it’s like but I couldn’t afford it and couldn’t justify it
Delightful train and trip. Thank you 🙏
US$3000 just from Adelaide to Sydney? That's very pricey!
He said it's a luxury train, of course it will gonna be expensive. It's cloose to Orient Express. Look how big that couchette is , how it looks and what bathroom it has. That's not your ordinary train.
Adelaide to Sydney...can be as low as $ 800 Aus....did it last year in gold single...
@@noway5347 well he said he did that before and now was in the platinum room
@@loredanadincu7930 It still isn't remotely $3000 worth. You thinking it is shows you've been brainwashed by capitalism, which is exactly why these companies do shit like this.
@@loredanadincu7930It would be the same price for two. Because he was a solo traveller, he would have paid a single supplement for occupying a twin cabin.
I thought $460.00 .oh my lord, I ain't going nowhere fast..I'm just keep watching this video...thank you for sharing your video ❤
27:22-27:28 stunning! This is in the horseshoe curve east of Sodwell.
No its in Australia yank
So the bathroom's clean? For $4600 I'd expect it to be goldplated.😁
伙食十分........高級,火車上的米其林😮車廂十分高貴是高級飯店...感謝分享
The train announcer had an Indian accent 😃
You should have gone to the Blue Mountains. Also a full train tour would be nice.
Kugo is number 1 traveler in Japon , thank you for every vedio , one of the ship sundue is bought by Thailand.
“Thank you cow for your sacrifice” 🥺💔🥰
Thanks!
Thank you!🤝
Hi Kuga.
Thanks for the video, and your sense of humour. I am sorry you felt alone while dining. The sad fact is that, although it's a wonderful journey, on an amazing train, it's price is by far too extravagant for many Aussies. So the travellers on it tend to be old, retired people , spending their children's inheritance (😂) ...or international tourists.and mostly they travel as couples.
I live on the East coast of Australia, and have family in Perth . I would prefer to travel by train, but the reality is flying is cheaper ( depending of course, on class of travel, and the airline).
There is sadly no " public" train service from the East to the West , so if a person cannot fly, this train is the only option, and can often be booked out at least 12-18 months into the future 🤯😮
I love your presentations that gorgeous 😊
the cost could have included another passenger or not. I rhink Orient express charges you the same if it is one or two people in a cabin
Only Adelaide to Sydney? Haven't you done the whole trip? 🤔
He did do it, was awhile ago though
@@ianpilkington2037 I'll have to go back and see. 👍🇦🇺
@@downunderrob I think it was relatively recent if I remember right, somewhere in the last year maybe?
He did just in bits😁
Thank You, it was so interesting)
$3000 for a day and a night-wow. To that, I'd have to add the cost of airfare from the US East Coast to Oz. Double wow.
Great video
Very entertaining as usual!
Thank you!🤝
Yes, let's give even more money to someone who can afford to spend $3000 for this. I think he's doing fine financially.
@@englishatheart A little bitter, one thinks. His socks betrayed his wealth?
Excellent thank you
You weren’t eating solo we were all eating with you and more people in the future will join.
F*********************K $4,600.00. Do yourself a huge favour and ride the train from Oslo to Bergen in Norway. Do it in the dead of winter. Now that is an amazing train ride believe me, it will blow your mind. Thanks for sharing.
If I get sea sick and car sick would I get train sick? This looks so peaceful but that's my fear.
There's a rocking motion so, probably.
At least you didn’t cough the whiskey out your nose. …commenting for a friend! 😂
Another great video. I have two questions: 1) Is tipping expected? 2) What do people who take the Blue Mountains excursion do with their luggage? I hope to take the entire route in 2025.
Tipping is not necessary or expected in Australia. I would think they have a connecting tour bus or van that would store their luggage and take them from the station to the Blue Mountains and back.
Must be nice to be able to afford that kind of luxury in this financial climate! Yes I am jealous, but curious as to how these people can afford to do such expensive one way trips!!
4000 from Adelaide to Sydney? I thought it was 4000 odd for the whole trip Perth to Sydney? But damn!
❤❤❤
Kuga, you are Japanese, right? What do you think of Indian Pacific in comparison to Japan's luxury train Shiki-shima?
Great video! 👍
Nice
If just one night (SYS-ADL) is $4600, then what's the whole trip from Sydney to Perth? 4 times that? I mean, yes, there's luxury travel, but at some point - unless you have a *massive* fear of flying - you can just fly first class. Heck for that money, you can probably fly on a Netjet private luxury jet! Of course you see more of the landscape from the ground - but half of that is going to be in pitch black night anyway. Maybe if I totally had that money to burn, for the "been there, done that".
a limo with restaurant stops would cost less
Wasn't 'The Road Warrior' filmed in Broken Hill?
That was great thanks. Did you go on the Ghan?
Yes😉
th-cam.com/video/oKSaFLq2fGs/w-d-xo.html
@@kugastravel5180 I watched it. Thanks. Really informative. You are funny.
I wish we have a business where you have a simulation room that give us 99% experience of this kind of ride, which might only cost few hundreds bucks. I mean with techs like motion simulator and a good TV as 'window' it's not impossible to achieve that, I guess😅
I enjoyed the video kuga! I noticed you wear that black shirt on your trips, is that a sponsor or is that for work? something else?
For $4600 I'd want Dom Perignon at least
How are your black/black Vans holding up on your travels?
With all the good food you eat, it's a wonder you don't weigh 150 kilos!
Why 4600 for one night? I thought you were taking 4 days! Yikes!!!!
💛💛💛
9:41 - Exactly what is that odd blue and white thing your cord is plugged into? I've never seen anything like it.
"the only thing not fitting is me" kuga san T__T daijoubu desu !!
More money then sense just to hear clickly clack clickly clack all the way across 😂
I could never afford to do this, maybe 10 years of TH-cam income may cover the cost. So for me to look over this as a video it's always going to be out of the question. I have heard Kangaroo meat makes you jump higher. Considering how many Roo's there are in Oz it should be a totally free meal.
It must be my overly gluttonous American Appetite im assuming, but for over $4,000, im sorry, but im going to want more generous portions of food than what they apparently offered you in this video. Looked tasty though. 😌
Was it worth the price?
I don't understand why the windows are slightly frosted. I'm sure they could have much more see-through windows.
Did you have to produce your Digital Identification before they would sell you a ticket.
/waves back
Sorry, I could not have eaten grilled Skippy
You can get good quality Skippy meat in a lot of places in the world nowadays. I had it (weirdly enough) in The Netherlands and it was very nice actually.
Were there any kind of trips to the third world trains. If not, requesting ones indian trains, bangladeshbtrains, russian trains, mongolian trains etc.
I'm not sure if I would pay that much on a 1 day train ride but maybe once in your life time you can say you did it hahaa.
27:23 is that Barossa valley?
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Interesting watching God munching mini universe chocolate 🌌🪐🍫 😅
Very nice, but $4600 for 24 hours??
Nice scenery but what a rattley bumpy train journey.
The window in the train room is really too small to see the view outside 😢
OMG Adelaide looks like some Australian cattle station
