I have watched the earlier video on weight transfer for the forehand stroke, now this one for the backhand stroke is equally good. She is a real good coach and I have benefited from watching her videos. Thanks a lot

Hi Yangyan, this is great video. But I want to call out a bit regarding the advanced form. We actually still want to hop a little bit (although extremely small) before going forehand or backhand. It is not lean on the left leg or right leg, and then directly go to the forehand and backhand. In the video from 6:03 to 6:09, in your free hand demonstration, you just lean and immediately go forehand or backhand. Obviously, you want to show the viewers to transition using the lean. But it also gives the viewers the impression that they can skip the small hop BEFORE they perform the transition into forehand or backhand position.
Your advanced form demonstration with single ball, from 6:09 to 7:13, is well done. The viewers can see that you did a slight hop (almost not noticeable but it is there, if you use slow motion play speed) before you transition to forehand or backhand. Great demonstration! Thank you!

A very important point in table tennis footwork is to do a little hop after completing the weight transfer at the end of a stroke. This is like hitting the reset button, (or returning to neutral position) which is essential for regaining balance and preparing for the next stroke. At the end of the little hop, the weight should be on the back leg and the arm in neutral position, i.e., at the center since the next stroke may be a FH or BH stroke. All top players perform this reset, but it happens very quickly that it often goes unnoticed.

You are very enthusiastic girl, and you definitely know your stuff. Suggestion: try covering the topic about modern defenders, especially know, with topspin machines like Fan or Ma Long

Another effective demonstation with easy to understand explanation. Thnx Yangyang 🙏. Do you also work out extra for your legs, such as, leg press, squat, leg extension etc with some weights?

thanks this helped me a lot! do you change your grip when you change from backhand to forhand or do you hold the racket exactly the same?

The grip remains the same, but if you notice her backhand, you'll see that her wrist is bent more towards the ground.

@@yangyangTT , honor , you own all our support , seems easy but teaching/videoing/playing need a lot of work and endurance + passion for our sport. A request : how to create a TT club with little finance ?
