Great video Drew. I'm just confused about the differences between the internal audio-over-ip card and the expansion cards and how they can both do 64 channels bidirectionally and even simultaneously. Would love to know more about that because this is an underrated digital mixing console.
Not suitable for working in a quiet studio, the internal fan noise is very loud. I bought a brand new console a couple of weeks ago but the fan noise was so loud that, at first, I thought it was defective so I sent it back. Today I got a new one but it has exactly the same issue, when the board gets hot and the internal fan kicks in, the fan noise is very loud, it literally sounds like a refrigerator, which makes it impossible to record in the same room without geting the fan noise in all the recordings. I'm very dissapointed because the idea behind this console is very good and I love the mixing workflow and behringer's approach, but if you are going to use it in a quiet studio without a separate control room, just forget about it.
Could I run out of the Wing AES50 with shielded cat6 75 feet to broadcast audio and INTO our Midas m32 to create a separate broadcast mix? No Dante needed?
@@RylandRussell Yeah man! The technical folks will say it needs to be shielded cat5e with Ethercons, to be safe. But yes, the WING and X/M32 series’ AES50 are both 48k, totally compatible with each other. Just run AES50 to AES50. And the X/M32 can mix 40 channels (32+8 auxes) from AES50, so it’s even better than you can do via Dante with X/M32 (limited to 32 channels).
@@antnips Well for AES50 the "official" type is cat5e STP shielded with Ethercons. SuperCAT cable by soundtools / rat sound would be a premium example. In other more typical use cases, certainly, cat6 should be the least you install at this point.
I’m having trouble with our Wing. In the middle of rehearsal the board (without anyone tending it) sliders glitch out. Flying to the top, then to the bottom, and finally settling back to where it was originally. Also, with no one there, the set up button lights up, & the screen displays, “ready to shut down?”. We’ve done all updates. Can you PLEASE help?
I wonder if this with a DL32 handle over 100m of cat5e? If you were to upgrade from a m32r - dl32 to a wing compact you’d want more stability with cat5e over 75m
Please elaborate on 6:40 to 7:18. What is the "internal module," and how would it physically connect to a PC/Peripheral? You still only have 64/64 via Dante unless there is a second physical connection?
There is an internal slot inside the console (has to be opened up to access) which can be populated with a Dante or WSG module. It's not really considered "user serviceable" and instead it's recommended to send the console to an authorised service provider to be installed. Means you'd free up the external card slot for something else if you otherwise needed Dante or WSG! :)
This is called expansion slot. You can order Wing with Dante card. By default they come with Live card. So, The Behringer WING-DANTE is a Dante card that can be installed in place of the WING-LIVE card that comes pre-installed. It supports mixed sample rates and bit-depth that coexist on a shared network, and offers 24-bit signal transmission, low-latency performance, and sample-accurate synchronization. It also includes a secondary input for establishing a redundant network
Behringer, can you start a trade-in program, please!! Like what is done with some phone companies. I'll send you my X32 and pay the difference, you send me a new WING.
Good afternoon, how are you? I need some information, can you help me, about the Behringer Wing console, it doesn't work with LR when we put it in subgroups, thank you in advance
I keep seeing that in all the promo videos that "Waves Internal Card Avalible" but I can not for the life off me find it online anywhere, any idea where I could find this? or is it being released at a later date?
Drew please fight the case for source automation for wing musicians who want to feed daw audio and do the the automation on the board while mixing and mastering the automation data can be stored on the usb if there is no more space on the wing memory. The live mixers do not need this but studio musicals and producers do. It will also be handy for Behringer to put on the 2 track recording the Tc Finaliser to offer Ai mastering.
Pretty minor, and there are several reasonable options-you can have absolutely full processable returns if you just send them to channels (and as stereo channels, doesn’t eat many) or aux channels. Or just send them directly to masters from the bus; returns are not always necessary. Or use busses 1-8 if you need to route bus to bus. Lots of ways to solve for your specific need.
@@theokaenzig9549 The last time I wanted to do this, it was impossible: you can’t select the FX processor output as an input source for a regular channel. Checkmate. Maybe they’ve released an update since then and fixed it, but a year ago, that’s how it was.
@@jethri can you route the FX outs to the regular channels now? It was impossible. Of course, there are many ways to get out of the situation. However, I think it’s better not to end up in it in the first place.

@@ThatDevOpsKid hahaha 😂 I knw what you mean bro, but for small studio sessions it will really come in handy to route directly from the board without the need for Stage box.
Behringer made huge steps this year !! - loving it !!
Impressive, This man knows many numbers and a plethora of things.
This is one of the best Beringer Wing over view I have seen. Thank you Drew
Great to use Drew for this. He is very good at explaining these things
Good you got the Behringer Gig, please do some on the Wing use for musicians with home studios. Some demos using Pop, Rnb and Rock music.
nice!!! love Drew's videos!!
Got my wing a few months ago from Amazon UK for £1920 new !! what a bargain 🎉❤
This is by far your best video 🎉

Hooray!

can probably replace the fan with a PC Noctua fan, that makes like no noise lol.
Can Behringer just add an Ultranet port to the wing to make is easy for users to directly connect P16s to the board?

Yes, definitely go with shielded cat6. Much faster speeds, less crosstalk, and better protection than shielded cat5e.

It’s time for a dual preamp Behringer stagebox for true gain split.
