Right!! I’m so excited to make some Waves integration videos with the WING soon. Some of the plugins I can see right away would be L2 and SSL Buss Compressor for the Main LR, Feedback Hunter or X-FDBK for floor monitor sends. Vocal tuning and compression stuff, all of it!! Let me know if there are any plugin chains you want me to cover!!
@@DrewBrashler btw I enjoyed seeing you at ChurchFront! I'm curious your thoughts on how this console with the waves card compares with the brand new LV1 Classic we got to see. The LV1 looks awesome, but this seems like an incredible value
Hey Drew. Thank you for doing this video. May I ask a couple of questions please? I'm thinking about using this console to run my studio with Logic. I often send audio out for processing and return and I'd like to know the time this round trip takes please? Also, when sending a live signal arriving at the mixer to an aux output, does it go through a A/D D/A conversion, or is it direct out? Thanks in advance, Alexander
In watching this video I start to realize that the architecture functionality is similar to the X air somewhat in term of the basic access for input and bus and effects on the right side of the board. Sometimes you just have to let logic take over and you will see where similar process apply to systems with a few miner steps here and there.
Yeah! What type of content would you want me to focus on with a mixing series? Specific settings for different channels or more of how I set up the console for a show?
Hi Drew, thanks for the video! Is it possible to change the Main 1 fader in the USER page on the right to any other bus? I'd love to put my vocal FX bus fader there for quick adjustments.
I would like to acquire the Behringer Wing and Compact. I would like to know if it is possible to extend the Wing with its Compact. Make it as if it were a single console. Used in the studio as a single console input insert plus DAW mode ???
Is there a possible setup with a Full Wing for live and maybe a compact wing for Web? Individual gains? Should Dante be considered or I’m I mixing things up?
@Drew: I know the audio interface specs are 24/48k, but the WING will still playback and mix stems (tracks) pre-recorded at 96k from the SD card without downsampling at all, correct?. I'm asking because the A/D Resolution on Sweetwater appears to be 24/192k. This must mean the 48k sample rate only comes into play when you use the USB port for conversion.
I have never tried that and my understanding is that the SD card reader will only play sessions at 24 bit and the sample rate of the console. Hope this helps!
I have been having problems with our church x32, and i did not know if it has ran its course it is 8-9 years old and if i should ask the church to go up to this behringer wing. Can you help me decide
Does this wing console connect or interface to the original S32 digital snake that mated with the X32 and allowed you to connect everything remote and Ethernet it back to the console? Or do you need to buy a whole new setup for this functionality as well for remote input😢
Yup! You can use the S32 or the X32 via AES50 to use them as inputs and outputs for the WING! Any AES50 stage boxes that worked with the X32, you can use with the WING.
Thank you soo much Drew , but is it possible to do a deeper dive into this mixer at later time.( IEMs, broadcast connections & Subs & Matrix routing options & Effects)
Yes! I’ll be planning on making a full IEM setup video for the WING Rack in the next few months. What specifically would you want to see in a video like that? WING Rack walkthrough video posts tomorrow on my channel, so check it out!
@@DrewBrashler Thanks for your reply. Im more interested in the Wing Compact as that what I intend to by soon. So the same points I asked in previous msg .
The WING does have inserts, just you would need to utilize any of the ports on the WING that you have. For instance the XLR outputs and the combo jacks, or the USB, etc.
Nice with 24 Mic Ins almost nice Outputs count. But they are attractive Out expansion options. Monitors (up to inmersive) + fills and so on is a today rider need.
Excellent video as always. When placing an order, do I need to emphasize that I need the Waves module installed or its shipped preinstalled? I don't seem to find info anywhere else. Whats the approximate extra cost?
what top rack U can you use with a Behringer wing compact? 12u or 13u? cause I want to put it in rack with some wireless mics for on the go. I'd use the wing rack but I like the faders :)
@1m30s Why didn’t Beringer make the outputs combo outputs (like the inputs)? The huge wing is probably going to have different use cases than the compact wing, so the lack of TRS could be a bigger deal for the compact version. Seems like a missed opportunity to cover bases, especially when the form factor has changed significantly.
@@jjax633 It’s not the end of the world, but it’s a lose (small L). But since they used combo for all the inputs, why didn’t they finish the job combos on the inputs. Frustrating and weird. Also the logic to use them seems off.
Yup! Build quality on mine is great, I’m really impressed by this console. The 24 preamps on the new series of WING’s are true MIDAS Pro Series preamps, so audio quality is great! Faders feel awesome too!
Can Scenes, Ques, etc. be downloaded from Wing, and transferred to X32? Most places still have x32, would like to transfer this function to other pre-existing units. An option?
no 96kHz using Dante or Sound Grid card expansion, means these have higher latency in comparison to Yamaha DM3-D which operates utilizing Dante at 96kHz, correct?
Correct, only 48k or 44.1k sample rate. Honesty, latency using WSG is not a problem even at 48kHz. Depending on your Dante devices same situation. But there is no SRC on the WING-Dante card, so you would not be able to integrate with a 96kHz Dante network. Only 48kHz.
So if I want the waves module inside my wing full size i have to make a special order from Behringer ? So I can use both waves and Dante at the same time ?
Well you have your 16 mixbusses that are all stereo on top of the 8 stereo matrix, and the 4 stereo busses. So you really can do a lot with those. But if you wanted to stick to only using the mixbusses for FX and IEM, then you would have 12 stereo IEM’s.
There is not an external screen port on the console. The tilt of the WING screen is a real help to be honest. But you could always use WING-Edit on a computer to the side as an extra interface to the console.
I have question, for usb multitrack recording to pc (daw), is coming from CONTROL / AUDIO NETWORK USB in back panel (beside power electric cable cord) ?
I keep seeing that in all the promo videos that "Waves Internal Card Avalible" but I can not for the life off me find it online anywhere, any idea where I could find this? or is it being released at a later date?
Yes, just pick up a WING-Dante card or the AoiP Dante module. The AES/EBU is two channels over one XLR and there is an input and an output jack on the wing, so keep that in mind.

Right, but if they’re on par with the DL32 that’s amazing. I pre ordered a wing rack today. I’ve already got multiple DL32s in inventory, so this will interface well with those. The DL251 still has the very best preamps I’ve ever heard when I mixed on a Pro2 years ago. As far as the Wing goes, frankly, I don’t know who can beat them at these price points and feature sets. It’s pretty insane. It rivals desks that cost 5-10x what this costs and is only limited really by the sample rate. And a PSE 5045 plugin to boot. Omg lol. Can’t wait to dive into it.
@@DrewBrashler Thank you. Does the stage box used matter, for example can i get the Behringer S32 and it does the job or do i need the MIDAS DL32, will there be any difference between those two stage boxes in a live church situation, will the preamps make any difference?
Depends on if the preamp sound really matters in your situation. I would say that if your speaker system is 10+ years old, or is not a super high quality system, go with the S32. If you have a really good PA, or the tonality of the preamp really matters for you, go with the DL32!
