    Hi great video and very informative but when carrying out a high current Ze test with this tester then it should be configured in two lead configuration as per the manual with the blue lead piggy backed into the green lead, which gives you a true impedance of the LOOP measurement.

    Your videos are so informative and easy to follow.
    Especially the earthing arrangements 1 was good and clear.
    Thanks and can’t wait for next 1

    I wish we had videos like this in Australia. Here in Australia are regulations are so strict that there is very little on line information on doing virtually any electrical work, for example replacing an existing power point is illegal. By the way in Australia we do not have ring circuits. I do not know if they are even legal here. I am puzzled about how these testers actually do the test. They must sample a few cycles of the sine wave drawing no current and then place known load that draws a known current for say one cycle 20msec then get the voltage change and the using the definition of resistance come up with a measure of impedance.
    No wonder these testers are expensive you would need some clever software to do this and sturdy hardware.

    Why do you have to connect 3 leads to check Ze or PFC does it measure PSC as well at the same time?

    • @UniversalSkillsGroup
      @UniversalSkillsGroup  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      There are 2 tests that you do, there's the PEFC and your PSCC, dependent on your multifunction tester, some will do a 2 lead test and some have to be 3 lead tests.

      This type of MFT can carry out a PFC or PSC without having to brake into the CU. You can just use the plug and set the switch to non trip. Great bit of kit.

    When earth loop impedance test?

    • @UniversalSkillsGroup
      @UniversalSkillsGroup  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Your Earth Loop Impedance test should be done after your polarity live test. Think about the acronym CRIPPER. The Earth Tests are the E within the acronym.

    I dont believe thats how you do a Ze test on the kt63, its a 2 wire test on high current.
