Dodgers are a good example of a well-built team that lacks the intangibles. While I like analytics and believe it is the key to success in the regular season, the postseason is all about getting hot at the right time. I think the Dodgers lack the type of player to fire up the squad, like Harper for the Phillies. So many times we’ve seen LAD unable to flip games when momentum is not in their favor (2021 vs Braves, 2022 vs Padres), and when they are on the verge of flipping the script, they ruin it by some boneheaded play or bad managerial decision (2018 WS Game 4, 2019 NLDS Game 5). It doesn’t help when their best batter and pitcher, the ones who should motivate the clubhouse, are constant postseason underachievers. Yes, the Dodgers need to refill their starting rotation, but more than that, I think they need a presence who can pick up the atmosphere when things don’t go right.
You hit the nail on the head. And Roberts time is up. Even in the NFL games, the Eagles fans outnumbered the Rams fans, in Los. Angeles! It’s such a joke if anyone takes the time to see through all the fluff. Unfortunately Betts and Freeman also fell into that trap, Kershaw was already long in it, and you can’t blame the rookies or up and comers like Outman, B. miller, or Sheehan. It’s the organization. Magic Johnson can come all he wants, it’s not going to change anything. (Similar to the Lakers which suffered when they peeved off Jerry West and let him go). Very nice to watch these D-backs. Start the fire the very first inning: bunt to get on base, bunt to advance a runner, squeeze the starting pitcher. As an Astros fan, I hope for some of this today.
Weirdly 2 of their 3 RBIs were not clutch hits with runners in scoring position. Moreno was a Fielder's choice RBI and Gurriel hit a solo homer. and went 1 for 2 with RISP. But it was enough when Gallen pitched as well as he did.

Kelly and Gallen are better than the Kershaw and Miller. D'backs have a great shot to eliminate the "big game" whiffers who win division titles but can't win in October when it's showtime.
The Dodgers were barely in the hunt to win the division part of the year. "How much money do we need to spend to get the title?" 😂
Are they tho? Still very much in series tho.
Cowboys and Notre dame of baseball
Very nice to watch these D-backs. Start the fire the very first inning: bunt to get on base, bunt to advance a runner, squeeze the starting pitcher. As an Astros fan, I hope for some of this today.
That's what I love about baseball. You can legit just sit their and analyze every single thing that is happening. Very fun lol.
Dodgers are like a expensive sports car with Hellen Keller driving
it'll be nice to see Roberts fired very soon, more enjoyable than winning a WS at this point. Geren is our true leader
🤣I wonder how many people reading your statement are gonna say,
"..uh.....who's Helen Keller?"
Gotta love the old school references.
I laughed harder at this comment than I have in a long time.
2023 and someone’s still doing Helen Keller jokes 😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
As a Jays fan, I really miss Gurriel and Moreno.
See Jays, thats what clutch hitting with runners and scoring position looks like
Weirdly 2 of their 3 RBIs were not clutch hits with runners in scoring position. Moreno was a Fielder's choice RBI and Gurriel hit a solo homer. and went 1 for 2 with RISP. But it was enough when Gallen pitched as well as he did.
This trade alone warrants the GM should be fired. Keeping fatass Kirk over Moreno is more like sabotaging from within.
@@MadarakiFran the reasoning is that Kirk was meant to be Manoah’s primary catcher, and he had a good showing with the bat the last year but fell off and no amount of analytics can help him with his base running issue unless he suddenly becomes Ortiz level of Big Boi Dinger Hitter…. It hasn’t manifested and Manoah yeah… I’ll be nice and say I hope he finds his form, I don’t want him on my team tho.
love seeing this 😊
Let's go D-Backs!

Great job on producing this game , what a difference from yesterday. Thank You!

“Jobs not finished”
Scary hours! 🎉
Let’s ride Diamondbacks 🥇
Dbacks are too much for the Dodgers!
Kelly and Gallen are better than the Kershaw and Miller. D'backs have a great shot to eliminate the "big game" whiffers who win division titles but can't win in October when it's showtime.
yet they lost to the cheating astros

Bob Costas was so sad. It was great.
Awesome. Way to go D-Backs. Impressed w/ Gurriel.
Dodgers should have a manager for the regular season and a different one for playoffs 😅
Curse-shaw set the tone for the entire playoffs- short as it may be for them.

@@Zarkmoneybags😂😂😂 wrong
@@parisbeech2180 dodgers not even the 3rd best team in there division
The talent gap just isn't as big as the media wants it to be. Most expensive teams in baseball not getting it done.
The Dodgers were barely in the hunt to win the division part of the year. They got hot in July while the D backs got cold but as a consequence they basically played playoff baseball for two months while the Dodgers coasted that has definitely helped them mentally along with some savvy trades at the trade deadline
@@nicholaskatsikas4904dodgers also needed a pitcher or two and they didn’t even bother
Sewald’s feelin’ pretty good about getting traded right about now 😂
Lets go D-Backs!!!starting to feel like 2001!!
This dodger team makes me feel like watching the 90's Braves.
It’s painful to see them not just lose in the postseason, but being upset by lesser teams who won 10-20 less games in the regular season. It really is reminiscent of the 90s Braves how they choke constantly.
At least the 90’s Braves could make it to the NLCS 8 times in a row
@@Mahoot and they ran into the Yankees dynasty twice and the worst umpire in MLB history in 97 NLCS
@@johnblze667yeah 90’s Braves weren’t as much of a failure as people make them out to be. Heck at least their World Series win was in a real season. Now early 2000s Braves…that’s a different story
@@Mahoot now that is a fun fact.
*I'd kill to see a Diamondbacks v. Orioles World Series.*
That would be the ultimate chaos right there, even more chaotic than Rangers vs. Diamondbacks.
With the way the Rangers series is going the Orioles are gonna need a miracle to advance lol. Though I definitely see the Diamondbacks making the World Series if they keep playing like this, probably will be against one of the Texas teams
@@Mahoot Not unless Minnesota keeps things up, they almost were up 2-0 on the Astros. I don’t think they have it in them to make it to the World Series but with the chaos that’s happened this season (and really this year in sports), anything is very much possible.
@@lakerskid2013 Every Astros postseason run is about how people always beat them, but for all the hatred their team gets, they don't quit and over the last decades have been one of the grittiest teams when they are behind in a game. Hate them for cheating deservedly so (except Altuve who was clean) but they never get up which is why their fans love them so much.
@@robertdouth8979 I’m a Braves fan but I’ve seen how much Houston went on the rise starting in 2015 and then after missing the playoffs the following year them winning the World Series in 2017, I just knew from there they were around to stay. I was so happy and relieved seeing Atlanta win it all a couple years ago, especially from what they dealt with in years past (that 2020 NLCS 3-1 blown lead was quite the stinger considering they won their first playoff series in 19 years right before that) and of course mid-season where they lost Acuña but rallied to still win it all
Betts is the personification of "all sizzle, no steak"
As a dbacks fan for over 16 years, I can't be too comfortable. While we are up 2-0, the series hits home where at times the dbacks had big crowds, and didn't play well. Were up 2-0, but 2-0 can be 2-2 in a blink. Job's not finished, and I've seen an arizona sports team up 2-0 before, it doesn't end well.
The Dodgers have not won a World Series since 1988 when there is a 162-game regular-season being a world champion playing 162 games including playoffs
Incredible how a team with over 100 losses a couple years ago are now on their way to end the dodgers' postseason. I feel bad for every dodgers fan that has to go through this type of betrayal. It's like the dodgers are stuck in the regular season phase.
Do not feel bad for them. They’re fan base is toxic af

@@michaellatko1639 No, but 2010, 2012, and 2014 will hold off any true pain for another decade or two. Which baseball superstar do you think the Dodgers will buy for next year’s disappointing run?

Coming from a Nationals fan, lol as an NL team if there's one team you want to play in October it's the Dodgers. Idk what it is, they just always seem to burn out. They'll have an insane regular season but in October they'll just look like a completely different team. Shoutout to the Dbacks, they look scary this Halloween season. Actually kind of reminding me of my 2019 Nats, so I wouldn't be shocked if they go deep in these playoffs. Corbin is already a monster, and he's gonna be a problem for years to come.

Rooting for AZ as they can actually bunt the baseball.
Orioles and Dodger are both having a bad time. That was my WS prediction, but that's down the toilet now.
Never count in the Dodgers to do anything of note in October, they are the Green Bay Packers of MLB. They always choke in the playoffs
I would say they are the San Jose Sharks of the MLB. The Sharks were the best regular season team for over a decade from the 2000s to mid 2010s. But always choked in the playoffs.
@@jenniferhamels1176The Sharks only had that one Stanley Cup Final appearance in 2016 to show for everything. I’m a Lightning fan in hockey, but they were starting to have that narrative for a while after they had some rough years after winning their first title up until 2015 where at least they made it back and then finally got things rolling starting in 2020 where they made the Stanley Cup Final for 3 years in a row and did repeat, now arguably they have a dynasty in the making.
Orioles are inexperienced, but depending on what happens in Arlington Tuesday, they'll have that "dawg" mentality if we get back next season

As a Braves guy, the 2021 LA Dodgers roster was much more lethal than LA’s current roster and 2022 is too. I’ve always liked Seager and felt that he was more dangerous than Freddie. Letting Seager, Bellinger, and Turner go was the wrong move for LA even though it seemed good at the time.
