I used to think Mark had the worst takes in RDC but it's definitely Dylan. Animation gets in his head too easily. Rock Lee's chunin exam speed vs Gaara was scaled to the kids/viewers. He's basically saying Black suit Sasuke after copying Lee is pressing Pain speed-wise. Mind you, Kisame was hanging with 6th gate Guy. No way Dyl and John think Part 1 Lee is up there with shippuden Guy in speed. Also the chat saying they're "jumping John" as if the take isn't insane....

I think he is, speed can come in many terms and I feel like in terms of reaction speed pain is faster and rock lee just generally moves faster. In the fight with gaara he breaks the sound barrier many times, putting him at a speed of sound or maybe even a little faster. I don’t really see the speed of pain through movement, but more so reaction.
Lee isn't anywhere close to Pain's speed, even with the gates it doesn't matter. A 30% Kisame clone was easily keeping up with 6th gate guy, meanwhile a non-clone Kisame got absolutely bodied by Naruto right after he got KCM. Since Pain kept up with around at least half of this same nine tails power (6 tails) there's no way you could say he's slower than 30% of Kisame. Meaning he is, at the very least, on par with 6th gate guy in speed. Part 1 Naruto and sasuke were faster than lee at final valley fight, and they ain't no where as close to freaking pain who was boxing with 6 tails kurama, 1 tail kid naruto was maxing sasuke thats faster than lee Sasuke had to use curse mark 2 (a 10x multiplier from base) to keep up with him so its not EVEN CLOSE@@nahh2878

I like to think speed is relative to the characters perception. Lee in the exams was so fast he was barely visible because the characters at the time (majority genin) couldn’t keep up visually.

Kurenai was known as a Specialized Jonin which is a fancy way of saying, she was an honorary promotion because of her dojutsu capabilities. Gaara was known to be stronger than all the sand Jonin but anyone who actually watched the show knows that’s a pretty low bar. The Leaf Jonin are pretty much undefeated until the appearance of the Akatsuki.

To put it simply, Sasuke copied Rock lee's speed during the chunin exams. Meaning he had this level of speed when he went up against Itachi. To say the least Itachi put him on a fucking stretcher, caught his attack easily (Chidori btw, probably even faster than Rock Lee)
Itachi is not blitzing pain, they are relative, meaning whatever happened there to sasuke, would happen to Rock Lee. He'd get his neck gripped by pain and slammed into a wall with 0 difficulty.

i just also thought it was natural to think as the story progressed that everyone was naturally faster Jiraiya for example they don’t show him being no damn speed demon but he’s overall so strong I just assumed bruh had to be some level of fast because no way you fight for that long and be so well known without having some type of relative high speed and I don’t think Jiraiya would see part one lee speed and be caught off guard like he hasn’t seen someone that fast before
the only way lee can keep up with pain in PART2 is IF he has 8 gates which is light speed. but he wont be able to keep up for long anyway due to longevity. Pain was literally on par with 7 or 8 tails kurama.

Bruh, Kurani is a Leaf Jonin The Leaf is confirmed to have the strongest Jonins of all the villages, so she's pretty strong if you don't have a Sharringan or Byakugan. Keep in mind to become a Jonin in the first place you have excel at all categories. Special Jonin means you only excel in 1 category. The thing is that they literally hard-countered the F out of her in her only canon fight. So everyone's impression of her is that she's weak cause she easily lost to the guy with the literal best genjutsu skills in the series and that's her specialty.

The argument kept changing till both sides finally understood what they were actually arguing about, even they didn't know "gates Lee" wasn't included. 1) When running, Pain can use Shinra Tensei and the Deva Path, which grants him the ability to manipulate gravity and repel or attract objects and people. Pain can propel himself and slow his opponent making him faster.
2) Pain doesn't need to run, he can fly, and flying is faster than running.
3) For a long run, Pain does not need to breathe, eat, or rest, and can endure more than normal humans.
Without opening any gates Pain is faster than Rock lee.
If Rock Lee can open the sixth gates, he will be faster than Pain, temporarily, because opening the gates causes Lee severe damage and pain, and he can only maintain it for a short time.

The issue with the power scaling within the Narutoverse is that Kishimoto gassed some of the characters up but we never really got to see what they were like in their prime (Sarutobi for example) nor did we see them in action in many cases (Fugaku, Shisui, a whole bunch of characters to be exact). Kishimoto set up an expansive world that he mainly concentrated on the main characters, the secondary characters got sidelined very early (in my mind this is what happened to Neiji until the 4th Great ninja war). In my opinion Kishimoto should have tried to expand on the stories within the Narutoverse how J.R.R Tolkien did with Lord of the Rings. Although he has done that with the Minato manga if you any of you haven't read that yet (first chapter is out).

Lee isn't anywhere close to Pain's speed, even with the gates it doesn't matter. A 30% Kisame clone was easily keeping up with 6th gate guy, meanwhile a non-clone Kisame got absolutely bodied by Naruto right after he got KCM. Since Pain kept up with around at least half of this same nine tails power (6 tails) there's no way you could say he's slower than 30% of Kisame. Meaning he is, at the very least, on par with 6th gate guy in speed. Part 1 Naruto and sasuke were faster than lee at final valley fight, and they ain't no where as close to freaking pain who was boxing with 6 tails kurama, 1 tail kid naruto was maxing sasuke thats faster than lee Sasuke had to use curse mark 2 (a 10x multiplier from base) to keep up with him so its not EVEN CLOSE@@ViltrumiteIsRite99

Logically if he could, the whole Leaf village attack should've been over in 30 minutes if every Jounin was far above Gaara level.
