For me, the pace was not too slow at all. Just got back from an out-of-state wedding and have to jump back in to my busy work schedule today. Today is full of back-to-back jobs, and I just sat down to eat some lunch. Watching your video was relaxing. And I can relate to so much of what you said. ☺
Perfect pace! ( Music a bit too loud...not horrible...but your voice is so soothing that I don't feel you need the music. In editing, you can turn it down to 10% and then it's a hint of music). ❤😊
I think it's just right. Because it's you. I've been pondering the same thing about the challenge. I have so many thoughts that you have inspired. Thank you for this.
Oh my! Writing in real time...i have tears in my eyes! Thank you, Bev. I wish we were in the same continent becasie id love to sit and have a cup of tea with you. ❤
I would have LOVED to be on this walk with you! I'm so distracted by all the things in nature. In my last video, I couldn't concentrate on what I was saying because everything was so beautiful. I have found managing my weight terribly difficult post menopause bc despite all the changes I've made, in diet and movement, there's all the hormonal changes that have to be managed. Stress management, sleep, estrogen...all have to be in check. Along with sunlight Vitamin D. It's just more work. I want to be my healthiest...and as soon as I get one thing under control, I learn that i need to now take care of another. This would be a great topic for another LIVE. I'd be thrilled to participate in that talk!
@BevThorogood I found out I'm capable of doing anything I set my mind to. Also, my amazing subs did it with me and I've built this incredible walking community. (At 56)
It also really motivated me also. I did it for Lifeline to support mental health in Australia but it got me into really good routines. Just like you said ‘you realised you can do anything if you set your mind on it’
I did one of those - zero results unfortunately but I think that's down to my niche maybe? I benefited more from setting myself a challenge to focus me more for a couple of weeks :)
You are perrrrfectly paced. So comforting. So real. So wonderful to enjoy you being you. Thank you! Just do you. Quality over quantity. When I watch you, I feel like you’re a friend that I truly admire. For me it’s refreshing to just enjoy and not fall in to the feel/need/curse to compare myself. It is just nice to slow down. Well done, you. Have a lovely day and month. See you when I see you :)
@bridquet thank you for your lovely feedback. I appreciate that so much. That’s exactly what I want viewers to feel - like friends who’ve not yet met 🙏💜
I sure loved this intro and seeing you out and about in nature. The music is so nice too. One day at a time is always a great plan. Gosh I love a good red lipstick. We seem very similar. I sat in the woods and spoke on how I’m also the heaviest I’ve been in my life. I can sure relate. Same! The wine and chocolate are my downfall. I’ve decided a 90/10 earring plan may work and would love to move more. Our weather is finally cooling off for walks. I hope to see you one day at a time⚡️ I’ve been making my little dailies nice and short to keep it simple. So far so good. Sure do LOVE Jen and I loved her journal read.
I'm so glad I found you today! I'm binge watching you! Ha! I love seeing my fellow GenX creators out here doing this. ❤ I DID do a 30 day challenge - but it was a gratitude challenge with a twist. I'm like ALWAYS home, so I wanted to show that you can find gratitude even in the smallest of things. It was really for ME...right? I wanted to remind myself to be grateful - and it worked! Glad to meet you here today, Bev! Hope to see you again soon!
I’m with you. Not doing it. I’ll just set myself up for disappointment. I’m a teacher so maybe I’ll do one in the summer. Good luck on your weight loss journey. It’s not easy. I just lost 30 lbs this year.
For me, a 30-day challenge of posting a video a day is an invitation to failure. I know there is no way with my life and my responsibilities that I could do it. And then I'd feel bad about failing. It takes everything I have to make 2 a week. Health and fitness however, that I need to do. But I did a 30-day walking challenge last year, and it took 6 weeks. Lol. And then when it was over, I stopped and haven't walked consistently since. So I'm not sure the challenge mentality works for me. Because it ends.
@@BevThorogood I didn’t mean anything bad in my initial comment. But as you asked, habit disruption is all about breaking routines by changing the cues that lead to a habit. For example, instead of grabbing a snack in the evening while watching TV, you might take a moment to make a cup of tea or do some stretches (I did that; the stiffness is real!). By shifting what triggers the habit-like the time of day or activity-you make it easier to change the behaviour itself. Sometimes, life naturally disrupts habits, but we can also make intentional changes to break habits that no longer serve us. All the best.
Oh no I didn’t think you meant anything bad at all. I was genuinely interested. It sounds like breaking the habit loop of trigger/cue, action/routine and reward. It’s a good reminder for me to think about which bit of the loop I can change. Xx
Do it for yourself. I think combining health and fitness with the 30 day challenge is a great idea. I’m about to make day 5 of the video challenge and two of them my days has been walking and showing where I walked. But the adhd brain has made mine too complicated but making them too long for editing. So trying to scale back and do it for 5 mins videos. I will subscribe and see your walking vlogs
I started to do the challenge but then after 6 days quit it. I was like, "why am I doing this?" lol So for me I stopped because I could not answer why I was.
@@BevThorogood just to clarify I was talking about the TH-cam daily challenging not the exercise lol I do walk everyday. I actually have been doing that since 2019

That sounds very sensible x

I did the 30 day 10,000 steps a day challenge. It was life changing.

A health challenge. Find a happy weight. No pressure there either. 💕
I enjoyed taking this walk with you. I also like the idea of challenging myself. I wrote that down in my journal to visit.
