I am 71 years old and I had a Mr. Machine when I was a kid. 1960 sounds about right. The one I had could be dissembled. The ratchet in the winding mechanism broke so I took it apart and fixed it by bending up the edge of some brass tabs. It took me a while to put it back together because I had thrown away the instructions on Christmas morning along with the box. I would take it apart and ask male guest to help me put it back together. When they gave up I would quickly put it back together. After I pulled this trick a few times my parents got annoyed and it disappeared. I bought another one a few years ago but like the one in your video it is riveted together. I think it is a later reproduction.
I'm on a mission to collect as many bipedal modern humanoid robot toys, merchandise, art prints etc. as possible, glad to see someone else like me. Except he doesn't have as many concerning mental issues as myself- Cool video :]
