At about the 4:06 mark, Jack states that "Magnesium" was used to make purple insulators. Actually it is manganese that does this. Magnesium is highly explosive when it comes in contact with water.
I couldn't have said it better. Jack was my original mentor as a young insulator collector 35+ years ago, and I'm not sure there was ever a nicer human being. Somehow TH-cam popped this into my suggestions and it was good to see my old friend once again.
