  • Today, I was able to catch The Silver Star shoving back towards Tampa Union Station and then going forward through the historic neighborhood of Ybor City. Since the Tampa station is at the end of a spur track, the Star has to retrace its 40 mile journey back to the mainline at Lakeland, FL. At least we get to hear the conductor's whistle in one direction and the main train horn in the other.
The two railroad crossings shown here still feature mechanical bells, something that seems rare to me these days. If you look closely, you might be able to see the signal aspect changing as the Amtrak train passes into the diamond block.
At the end of the first clip, you can see Tampa's streetcar, the TECO Line Streetcar continue on its journey toward Ybor City stations after patiently waiting for the Amtrak train to clear the diamond.
The locomotives pulling (or pushing) today are units 157 and 326. AMTK 326, a Siemens Charger, is new to me, but I caught AMTK 157 once before back in August of 2022 pulling a Northeast Regional train in Norfolk, VA: • Northeast Regional 158... .
