You're so right, I rushed to phase 3, with a spaghetti setup and overcloak + sloops to rush the components, but I have to learn how to chill and enjoy the game for what it is, + it's so satisfying to see a CLEAN factory.... Really nice vid !
I took my time and built all my factories and production lines. I only stopped to produce elevator parts when I absolutely had to to progress. This resulted in me building full and beautiful factories before I ever even looked at phase 5. By the time I did I was able to complete phase 5 in about an hour because I already had 100s of every single item in game.
its called Z-Fighting from every direction because its based on the Z-Buffer used when rendering a 3D scene. In this case. X and Y are left-right and up-down on the screen, and Z is toward the camera (your eyeballs). The Z-buffer is used to determine which objects pixels would be closer to you, only the closer object should be drawn to the screen. When surfaces overlap, they have the same Z value (distance to the camera) and so the renderer can't consistently choose which objects pixels to draw.
You can actually fix Z-Fighting for foundations by placing a pillar centered on the middle of the problematic foundation and then removing the foundation and re-placing it by snapping it to the bottom of the pillar. This results in the height of the replaced foundation being slightly off from the one it was fighting and completely fixes Z-Fighting.
Hey man. Just stumbled across your videos as I just started playing satisfactory myself. Got to phase 3 and just getting ready for a turbo fuel factory. My builds are bare bones and seeing builds like yours are so cool. My save has 90 hour into it and a build like yours would take so long for me to build. lol keep up the awesome work!
1:30 Quick tip, you can Shift-Click on Dimensional Depot items to grab a stack at a time :) 4:30 Also, you can drag items to anywhere on the left panel to upload them
You are damn a source of inspiration ! I'm gonna suspend some factories with this kind of chains ;) ! I do not know if there is a possibility to use those chains as actual pipes and make them carrying some liquids or gaz
you should try to make one of these but implementing the pipeline coil in the middle so their aren’t any gaps ( 52:32 ) (edit: it’s also good to see a youtuber compliment another youtuber on the same game)
true. i could make it more compact, but the plan was not full set when i started. and thank you, i love how others build and what amazing ideas they come up with, building in a vacuum is not as fun as seeing what your friends make.
I like to see what others build too, and what others build, may inspire me to build something like it, but not completely ripping the idea off of them. (i’m also glad to have stumbled upon your channel, because your content really started to get me back into satisfactory, and also inspired me to build a proper, but good looking factory)
@@unncanny awe thank you, and i feel the same way about watching others play. that is why the sub reddit for satisfactory is so good, lots of creative individuals.
@@DrawingXaos i’ve never really used reddit, and i don’t plan to use until it has been a year or two, as i want to stay away from any social media, asides from youtube or twitch
That windows technique is a bug, that's only present on that new style of Window. The technique you show (14:30) works on all other windows... Great work BTW! Keep the vids coming.
very nice dude. very nice. i love the chains. If you would like to fly to show it off but dont want to use mods or adv setting just save it as something else and load settings in that save. make sure to undo settings before logging out so when you open the real save you dont mark it as modded. I love that we are on the same phase. 250hrs in i haven even starting elevator factories. slow and steady.
While it’s a nice idea, the term z-fighting refers to coordinates in screen space, not world space, where the z-axis is the distance of the given pixel from the camera. Z-fighting happens when 2 objects have the same (or extremely similar) z-coordinate in screen space, so the renderer doesn’t know which object to draw on top, and essentially picks at random each frame, which in real time results in ugly flickering.
the hexagonial windows can be turned by 180° to make the fighting stop - at least how it worked pre-1.0 don't know if they've changed it but I guess worth a try given a lot of things are directional
Makes sense, actually. The best way to avoid the flicker is to make the model slightly off grid (outside of the specialised solutions they have to blend things), so rotating 180 would put it somewhere else.
I'm mostly rushing for the alt recipes so I don't have to work with screws 😂 Went through Stage 3 on 30x coal power to wait for blender diluted fuel. Stage 9 for the first time in 3 years, made my 80 fuel generators go into battery, almost died. Also, PA stages are now too easy with Somersloops. Still making the base pretty now, I already spent more time after PA finished than before in my new 1.0 save and I'm not restarting. Currently working on 10x Portal consumption, after that NUCULAR
Why not use Liquid Biofuel when doing architecture work? it doesn't have the same lift power, but it lasts a lot longer, giving you more time to analyze things.
I made a small fully slooped liqbiofuel factory near a node to make the metal canisters. I drop all my materials to get the solid, it processes everything then dumps it into the depot, i literally never run out. Lbf is my go to for building and most exploring puposes. Maybe when i leave phase 3 i'll use something else.
@@DrawingXaoswow you work fast! I tried to make one Factory pretty(before I had hover pack), and it took me like 8-10 hours on just design stuff before I gave up and moved forward hahah
If you just use the flight mode to showcase / get some cinematic shots it‘s okay. Just don‘t build or plan with it as that would be cheating. Atleast thats what my moral says lol

But imo it's best to have most things unlocked so you can build nice forever factories. Doing earl nice just means tear down and rebuild
@@toddblankenship7164 True this. Spent way too long on a factory's aesthetic and hit phase 2 and realized it was pretty much all for nothing

well the DBZ fighting is annoying me lol. i wish if i had fixed it in the BP it would stay for each one.
that chain idea went straight in my bank! thank you so much it looks so good!!!
lol thank you.
The pipe decor on the front looks awesome, it reminds me of a giant nobelisk tho
oh yeah it does. its one of my fav parts of the build.

With your chain:
Half of the link should be solid and the other half have the indicator to mimick a weld. It'll look more realistic.
