Instead of deleting the control rig, you can just go into it, scroll to the bottom to where the Full Body IK node is, and change the root from pelvis to animation root.

Thank you for this! MUCH simpler than what I was trying to do... question: Mixamo animations... if the metahuman skeleton is now the UE5 skele, will animations using said skele in Mixamo translate to the Metahuman?

hey great video, this was by far the simplest way to change the character. Do you have any experience with ALS ? I wanted to replace the als character with Metahuman and all the tutorials i found were a bit complicated and too much time consuming for long run

Although I have had an error, I don't know if you can help me. It is when I assign the epic skeleton to the metahuman, that the program always closes and does not. The error says this:

No, "Animate Your Metahuman Character Inside Unreal" is a tutorial where you will learn how to retarget ready made locomotion out of ue5 skeleton to the metahuman, it's just an easier way and also you can avoid errors

У меня код перемещения другой. И при перемещении кода у меня Event BeginPlay заменился на CustomEvent
hey loved the video, however i made my own camera angle and it works with the Mesh from the original (premade) character but wont with the meta human
what's happening exactly with the camera?
@@LocoDev so i have fixed that problem, however theres a new one where the idle animation is the only one that works and then when i move there is no running animation or jumping its just idle walking if that wakes any sense
but its alr i think ima scrap it and restart making the meta human thanks for the help tho

I have that for some reason all the time my character is running straight, I press left - right, running straight ahead or backwards, help))))
copying locomotion code didn't work for camera movement. also assigning skeleton causes crash. I think it's because of missing bones
