I rewatched kgf 2 still i wasn't able to figure out that what people liked about this film and where was the story.
I was really looking forward to "Dunki," but while watching the movie, it felt like I was trying to convince myself to like it, even though it didn't work. It just didn't meet my expectations. I grew up watching films by Hirani and SRK, so their collaboration was a dream come true. However, it ultimately led to a huge disappointment.

2000 - 2007 was Shahrukh Khan's absolute peak as a superstar.
None of his contemporaries could touch him back then. 2007 saw the release of two blockbusters, and SRK was the pinnacle of superstardom - Om Shanti Om and Chak De India. That craze was unprecedented... I was in school and everyone wanted to be SRK in the annual functions..miss those times..

The box office combined with the cultural impact of his films is something that has not been replicated yet. Salman's movies were blockbusters but 90% of them are already forgotten and have no respectability in terms of quality.

Raju Hirani hugely benefitted from Vidhu Vinod Chopra and his creative inputs. Dunki looked like a movie Raju made for SRK while SRK should have been a part of Raju Hirani universe. SRK did the same with Imtiaz Ali movie as well

When a film like Pathaan did 1000 cr, i thought Tiger 3 would replicate it's success being a spy film, hero vs. villain, pak integration & SRK cameo as Bhai had in Pathaan. If not that, atleast 700cr as possible. I seriously don't know what went wrong with this? Weak direction i guess.

Problem is bollywood's unconditional love for pakistan, as if they are the main heroes and we are villians. Yrf spy universe started with balancing bw IND and PAK, then they made movies glorifying pakistan.
War is the only good movie in whole spy-verse and it's a standalone film.

Problem with Shamshera and Bahubali are that the father characters are so strong that the son character does not hold up... though Bahubali is better of course

Prabhas sir have the most forgiving fan base I have ever seen
Brahmastra is quintessential to this topic. Perfect example of a movie that was hyped for years and years, saying it has been made with hardwork of 10 yrs, pushing vfx standards, indian culture, repest and what not.
The final product we saw on 9th September 2022, was unbearable and disrespectful. First of all, i was sure bollywood can't pull a movie on this big budget that too on Indian culture which bollywood has roots to, especially the elite writers they have. But i got excited when the trailer dropped 2 months prior to the release, promising great cgi, worl building and what not. Trailer had colourful and beautiful vfx and good music. I could 3ven ignore the live story if it was less in the film (which was not needed even though) but they made a full 2 hr 45 min movie with central them being LOVE and LIGHT.
Clearly shows main focus of the director was vfx and cgi exhibition and not the story, screenplay and dialogues. A 5 year old kid would find Brahmastra childish man. Ayan speaking on respecting Indian culture felt like some NRI who just entered Indian for the first time has been told to write an essay on India.
The main problem with Dunki is the subject deserves raw and real treatment but Raju hirani has a tendency of sugar coating every subject which worked previously but in this case it didn't.. The comedy was completely forced and outdated..
SRK needs to follow Amitabh's footsteps and step into character roles. Amitabh did it with Mohabbatein... so should SRK before he becomes the next Mithun.
Amitabh started his character role journey with Sooryavansham itself. He nailed the father role perfectly and also did his last film as a romantic lead too

What din work for Dunki is the forced romantic angle between srk and tapsee, like we never saw that coach pupil relation growing into romance, instead they could've made it a brother sister story and people would've loved it also cuz the fact that tapsee lost her brother....Also there was a lot of lack of authenticity in the whole setting....I believe that such setbacks are extremely important for great filmmakers cuz them not ever facing a failure makes them over confident and will lead to take the audience for granted, something that happened with LJP as well...A failure like this will help the directors analyse the failure, look into the shortcomings and really work on to give their best once again, and that's how great filmmakers are born!
How can you miss "Thugs of hindostan"?? Aamir was probably in the best run of films by an Indian actor ever, plus the collaboration with Amitabh Bachchan. An Aamir khan movie was a sure shot blockbuster along with being a good movie. The hype was unreal at that point ( which shows in its first day collection) and the movie was absolute garbage.
In 2011 I was very hyped for Jr. NTR Shakti and Pawan Kalyan's Puli. It shocked me man. I still remember how horrible Shakti was with Meher Nolan as director even after Kantri.

It is shameful that we cant let go of silly politics in making decisions that could help our movie industries in getting world wide acclaim for storytelling instead of just being good in dance. I agree that Dunki was Hirani's weakest work but if you judge it as a movie instead of a Hirani movie, it's a great watch with genuine laughs and cry. It has amazing music, genuinely funny scenes and it will make you cry. One of the factors due to which it did not work as great as 3 Idiots or Munna bhai is that the topic was not relatable for the audience.

dunki was decent one time watch, despite not being hirani's best. despite average to mixed response ,dunki made 400-450 cr ww which is a massive no. for the movie which failed to live upto the expectation, unlike other biggies - manish sharma's tiger 3, siddharth anand's fighter ,nolan's tenet,james wan's aquaman 2 & shankar's indian 2. Problem with dunki would have been long production delays ,making during covid & outdated story written by hirani not taking note of audience watching movies in ott during covid. Hirani also wouldn't have got the time to rewrite & change story to current trends. I still root for hirani to come back with a solid story & collab again with ranbir or aamir again or do something interesting with likes of rajkumar rao & vicky kaushal . Zero was the most disappointing srk movie according to me in terms of every aspect than dunki.
My only question is why noone, I mean NOONE in production seems to not care about writing??!

I wouldn't agree with the "0% execution" part, because the film did have some positive points like great VFX, good action sequences, music was okay (Deva Deva song was really good), and some actors did a good job.

I believe Adipurush with its marketing and all the hype was a major disappointment even before the film release. The teaser/trailer was enough to disappoint. Didn't't need to watch the film to be disappointed.
Imagine in 1996 a movie was submitted for the Oscars and it sequel literally had damaged the reputation of the original film and was a torture cringe fest in theatres and the movie is Indian

Dunki- the problem is that the story was not the hero which is usually the formula for RKH movies. It just turned out to make SRK a hero who can help his friends do dunki and then reverse dunki. I'm glad it didnt do well because I can't fathom to understand how Pathan and Jawan are super hits.
Leo should've made it to the video. The hype in the south was unreal. & 1st half along with the interval block lived up to it but Everything shattered when the 2nd half of the movie commenced

I don't know why people hate dunki. I watched in the theatre (2nd show, 1st day). It was an emotional rollercoaster experience. I enjoyed a lot. Furthermore, you can't always expect 3 idiots or munna bhai from raju hirani sir.
I generally don't follow film trailers or news most of the time but regarding Hype & Execution, I'm reminded of the game Cyberpunk 2077 by CDPR. Before this they were making the Witcher game n its 3rd installment broke the community, it was so good though it took some initial patches, So, everyone believed that past the success, CDPR wud have all the resources to provide a GOTY but due to hastened production & development, the game came out full of bugs & nearly unplayable. Though new patches were released & bugs fixed, the damage was done.
So, as Kratos said in GOW 2018, "Keep your expectations low & You'll never be disappointed.", this dialogue is a reminder to stay as neutral as one can.
Adipurush(at the time of announcement) was another wasted opportunity. Not even 1% of Ramayan's epicness and glory was captured on screen🥲
They could have postponed the film for prabhas ACL surgery but they made the film in a hurry 😮💨😮💨.

I noticed one thing guys. When SRK was about to work in an Imtiaz Ali Film(jab Harry met Sejal), the movie was not well executed. We are taking about the director who has made masterpieces like Rockstar, jab we met, tamasha. When hirani( the legendary director of 3 idiots, pk, Munna bhai) worked with SRK in dunki, it worked badly. Why does it feel that these directors are focusing on SRK's Fandom and not on the film itself? It's not like SRK is a bad actor, then how in the world is a good actor and good director are making bad movies???

I'm from TN, and I was deeply disappointed with both Indian 2 and Thunivu. I couldn't even believe Indian 2 was made by director Shankar whom I am such a big fan of. Felt like that whole movie was directed by some assistant director and simply bore the name of Shankar. Thunivu was another big, big disappointment. After watching "Sadhuranga vettai" and "Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru" I was hyped to watch Thunivu. I just ignored "Valimai" as it was said that it was not the director's original story. But Thunivu i had a lots of expectation and felt heartbroken after the watching the movie.
ENVISION is something you imagine about yourself or something you are producing or building.

I know we all loved Shahrukh and when we saw the posters for "Kaal", we thought "wow"!
But then it was a shitty movie with just a stupid item number by him. That was the major disappointment for me
For me it's definitely Animal the hype was unreal but it didn't live up to the hype. The movie was absolutely crass. Vanga's only intention to make this film was to trigger his haters 😭

Nah. The scenes Vanga even wanted to answer the haters, they're kept very cleverly. Even though, i criticise the pelvis scene and unnecessary dialogues in between. But absolutely loved the monkey story in start and gesture shot film ended with. They brought a smile on the face. In second half i feel, Vanga lost the track of the story and it never got in track till father-son conversation starts in last scene.
This is my criticisms for Animal, after saying Animal is the best film of 2023. 💛
