"Take what the mountains give you" Words to live by for a high country hunter. I will be going on my first ever high country archery mule deer hunt this fall. I'm just soaking in all the tips and lessons learned from all the videos I've been binge watching, yours included. Thanks for being raw and showing the bad with the good. That's how we learn. Thank you! And good luck on the next one.
Man, felt for ya on that one. Hunt long enough and it'll happen having to watch a critter suffer. Glad you found him. Another great mule deer video too!
Don't beat yourself up to bad you got a very nice buck. That sort of thing happens and you did the right thing. To many hunter push to soon and never find there buck. You found yours because you care about the animal and had patience. CONGRATS !!!
Awesome video man. Expressing the reality of chasing this amazing animals with a stick and string using a camera is not an easy feat. Congrats on an incredible buck. What broadheads were you using? It looks like they did great given the circumstance.
We are hunting the same bucks and same canyon. Camping in nearly the same spot. We hunted the muzzy last year. You steal that water from our camp? Clear jugs with white caps. That match ours. At 10500ft 5 hours in? If you're going to die you're welcome to It but we spent all summer getting it in there for us. Fantastic Video.
Have a little respect for other hunters hard work instead of taking advantage of someone else’s resources. Try hauling in your own water next time. If you’re dying, by all means, but don’t be lazy and steal our water.
I packed in my own water and it was a nightmare to do so. I clearly had Hyrdapacks, MSR’s and a Platypus. Someone else may have stole your water but it wasn’t me, so through your allegations at someone else.
Those aren't Platypuses being carried around or leaning up against your tent in those clear water bags with the white handle and white caps. We bought those on Amazon. We know exactly where your camp is and where you shot that deer. All those days you spent in there with all that equipment and the hell hole canyon you shot that deer in with no water source close by but water is on the hike in wrong side of the mountain from where you shot that deer. there's no way. Great hunt, we understand what you went though.
06:59 I show the water that I packed in, in Hydrapaks. 08:21 I show my self filtering more water on the way in for the hunt and I packed in a bunch of that water way in for the hunt. My buddy Mike also made a separate trip before the hunt and packed his own water in. He’s the one with the Amazon bags. But he definitely packed those in himself. And we packed out all of the water containers. Not my style to mess with other peoples stuff, as I know how much effort it takes to pack it in. Perhaps someone else stole your water. But it wasn’t us.
