Should be possible to make a twice-twice setup that forces players to toggle between levels every death... (and yes make it a red coin level) (think that's one of my first couple levels using the one-way + checkpoint setup to switch players to a different path when they die)
If we use jank warp tech it should be able to make players toggle based on red coin collection too. :V

I honestly think the 300IQ play for the Carl vs Geek level would've been that Carl's "True Ending" was that there was no true ending, but the level poses itself in a way that makes it seem like there's a true ending, so you keep running at it indefinitely.
I would've liked to see a coin trail maze between the pipe and the carlbox. Imagine Carl rabidly collecting a screen full of shinies and finally just end up in the box.
What if you just couldn't go in the pipe.

Basically, Carl's version has a lot more trolls leading up to the section with the True Ending pipes, so it makes Carl's route feel like it has a much higher value to complete. But after you get through all the trolls, the level smacks you over the head with the realization that you were chasing after something that never existed.

As someone with extreme ADHD who’s suffered from the sorts of issues you describe but like… on a hardcore life-changingly severe basis, pausing to talk a little about your challenges meant the world to me. Thanks Carl for the awesome vids. Been a longtime fan.

@@burntalive The level assumed that the player didn't know whether going in that pipe was possible. It puts 50 iq as "smashing your head into a wall until it works" when carl was big braining it because he knew that it was possible.
Also, that is just how ADHD works, speaking as someone with the similar ADD. He focused on the solution in front of him instead of trying to work around it. I think there is virtue therein, and it's not really nice to quantify his intelligence, especially without taking who Carl is into account.
I didn't realize it either until there were other options than 50 IQ available

holy crap. i know there’s no reason to believe me but i’m the world record holder “fartwallet” on that first level (a long time ago i took over my youngest son’s account when he stopped playing). my world record has since been beaten but i was also the very first one to clear it. this is one of the coolest things that’s happened to me. and that’s sad.

As someone who didn't get my ADHD diagnosis till a few years ago, that was cool to hear that even Carl couldn't figure it out either till the memes revealed themselves to him lol. That's exactly how it felt for me when I just went "wait all this weird shit I do sounds an awful lot like ADHD" one day. It's hard to realize it when you've gone undiagnosed for long enough that you think you're just weird.

i think Carl literally learned 2 mechanics on that uno mas level, but neither of them were what the level was trying to teach (i think u were supposed to hug the wall, drop the pow on urself so u're inside it, and then jump while holding right)

I would love it if someone made a Getting Over It/Only Up-style game but with actually good precision platforming controls and physics. I definitely like the idea of the big crazy climb, but I don't enjoy having to fight with janky controls and such as I go up.
I think you're talking about Celeste. Or Jump King. Both have very precise controls, although there is a bit of a learning curve to jump king.
@@magicball3201 Celeste is more of a series of separate platforming challenges, though, isn't it? Distinct rooms rather than one large thing to scale. And as for Jump King, doesn't that have weird controls? Like, the angle of your jump is base don how long you hold the button or something like that?
@@GuyYouMetOnline Celeste, I'll give you. Jump King, your jump angle is consistent; it's just how long the button is held determines the power behind your jump. Getting Over It/Only Up are 3D which brings some jank. Jump King in 2D and pixel based has some jank because all games do, but it doesn't have any weird momentum shenanigans GOi can have
