"I think the shot is pretty good with what I have to work with". Yeah, there's not much there. Just a bunch of rocks. Riiight. Just a little bit of an understatement. Personally, I like the first shot because you can see more detail in the background peaks. All I can say is, holy cow Mads! The whole video is just one phenomenal shot after another. Of all the locations I've seen from all the photographers I watch I think the Dolomites just might be the most epic. That includes places like Iceland, The Faroes and Antarctica. Thanks for the adventure.
Once again, your images and instruction are phenomenal. The lone tree growing on the side of the mountain may be my favorite image of yours that I’ve ever seen…and I rarely miss your videos. Besides being absolutely beautiful, this picture tells a powerful story of strength, survival, and independence! Great work and thanks for sharing!
I love love love the image of the little tree growing on the hillside. It made me almost cry. It is how I feel sometimes, like that lone tree in a massive landscape.
the images at 10:30, 12:30 and 23:00 were my personal favourites this week Mads. What a magnificent and epic adventure you have had and hope the adventure is continuing in Wales and the Lake District
Three times I have watched both videos into the last year. It's absolutely amazing enjoy watching. In each time I have learned anything more. Thanks so much for your incredible content and your training in TH-cam.
Hard to pick a favorite from such stunning photos. Normally I don't like people in landscape photos, but with these mountain shots the people really make it more epic because of the sense of scale.
Magnificent images captured in this series. Outstanding video and music selection. It's really difficult selecting the best since all the images are stunning. The one with the reflection by the lake is awesome! As well as the one with morning light and pink clouds reflecting in the lake. Thank you for Sharing this adventure. We live in a beautiful world. I'm always amazed at your ability to "see" and capture all the beauty, especially when not a "planned" image.
Thanks for putting so much good composition information in your videos. The epic mountain shots are amazing but I also loved the single tree backlit by the golden sunrise.
Mads, you are absolutely brilliant at putting these videos together. Your style and manner is so calm and collected that you create a style that people want to watch. they will keep coming back time and time again. Oh by the way the photography isn't to shabby either. Great job.
I loved the first video in this series and the second is just as breathtaking. I love how light plays over mountain landscapes and your work captures that beautifully.
My jaw practically hit the floor when I saw the shot starting at 23:38. The incredible majesty of the mountain shown in that composition actually brought a tear to my eye. Well done, sir! Well done.
Been to Dolomites just once and something about them is magical. The clouds over those Mountains give such a powerful scenery. As well traveld 2 times to chamonix France. Considering they are much higher than Dolomites, they are not as dramatic. Summer 2023 going for 3 weeks just Dolomites. Great video.
I think one of my favourite shots is the lone pine tree on the cliff edge with the distant sunbeams in the background at 13:00. At 18:35, I'm kind of torn, I like the action in the stormy clouds on the left but I like the simplicity and the light of the sunstar peaking around the edge of the butte (pillar). I love the photo at 26:15, the colours in the clouds and the reflections of those colours in the water are beautiful.
Mads, thank you for another amazing video. I agree the small tree with the sunlit background was amazing, but the reflection photo with colorful sky at the end was my favorite. You also seem to always choose music that adds to the drama of you videos.
Once again......WOW! It's hard to pick a favorite but if you had to twist my arm I would say the reflection image with Monica in the image for scale. I loved that one.
You ask the impossible. To choose a favorite amongst your epic photos is indeed impossible. Great adventure for you! Inspiring to the rest of us. Well done!
Hey, Mads))) This video is soooooo goooood! I'm absolutely in love with your photos and that locations!) AMAZING! STUNNING!) Thank you for inspiration!)
After all the admiring comments below, I would like to drop a critical remark on Mads’ Dolomites videos. But firstly the pros. The photos: absolutely stunning. The drone videos: breathtaking. The video overall: cool. Nevertheless, I would have welcomed appreciation not only for the spectacular landscape but also for the cultural identity of the Dolomites, i.e. their people, geography, and history. As a resident of the Alps, who climbed many of the mountains shown in this video, I truly miss that these alpine landmarks were not addressed by name, calling them frequently “background mountains” or “the peak over there”. In fact, almost all rock structures in the Alps, including small pinnacles and spires, bear names. As a visitor you cannot be familiar with all of them, but when producing a Dolomites video, I would expect the most prominent mountains to be addressed correctly. Some examples? At the beginning of video #1, after having shown the famous churches in the Villnöß valley at the foot of the Geisler Gruppe, it would have been respectful to mention that Reinhold Messner, the most legendary mountaineer ever, grew up in this village and acquired his phenomenal alpine skills in the Geisler mountains. And, unlike Mads suggests at the vista-point on the summit of Seceda, that range is not called “Seceda mountains” but Geisler Gruppe (Grupo di Odles) and the stunning mountains are the Fermeda towers, Furchetta and Sass Rigais. Such information is readily retrieved from a map or an app like Peakfinder. This lack of sensitivity is present throughout both videos, e.g. the stunning mountains seen from top of Lagazuoi are not only impressive landmarks but bear truly epic names including Tofana, Antelao, Pelmo, Civetta, Averau, Nuvolau that need not be concealed. Not to mention that the “sharp peak” seen from Drei-Zinnen-Hütte is the Paternkofel (and by the way, that peak played a most prominent role during the fights in World War I) and the “Matterhorn of the Dolomites” above Baita Segantini is Cimone della Pala. Just to mention a few … So, besides the excellent photographic performance, there is room for improvement, and I am looking forward to see this in forthcoming videos.
I love this channel Mads. Your expressions as you talk make me smile, and the excellent photography is inspirational. Thank you. 1 The first reflection photo is my fave 2 Of the 2 I prefer the sunny one over the stormy one. I think that's about the brightness of the colours and the over all 'crispness' of the scene.
18:41- I prefer the left one, just because of the dynamics, and warmer colors (which couldn´t seems it for first glance, but it is warmer, and i like warm colors 😁. Bud as always, all of your images are even slightly above first class👍).
Your landscape photos, and enthusiasm are second to none. Thank you for your excellent instruction and inspiration. You apparently use the Tamron 28-200 quite a bit at f/16. I use the Sony 24-105 and notice a obvious degradation in clarity by f/11 and substantial degradation by f/16. f/8 and wider is very sharp. Your images seem very sharp, even at f/16 (although there is only so much one can tell at 4K). Do you find a significant degradation in sharpness and, if so, do you use anything specific for sharpening? I understand you have used the 24-105, and I was wondering if you find the Tamron sharper at narrower apertures (I saw your comparison, but did not see this addressed). As a side point, I was wondering how you got yourself in shots so far away - thank you for explaining that. I was sure none of my remotes would activate the shutter that far away.
Wow! Thank you Mads! I've been on vacation with friends and family numerous times in Südtirol and the Dolomites, but have never had the good fortune of a workshop like that, so thank you for sharing and inspiring! Personally, it is perhaps the most beautiful place I've ever had the opportunity to visit. And I live in the Rocky Mountains, which is also quite "Epic"! We actually just returned from Südtirol. I'd be very interested in knowing how one can participate in such a workshop.
Cinque Torri is beautiful and my favorite location in the Dolomites. But with only a wide-angle lens it’s hard to find unique compositions. Love the vlog and photos. My favorite photo of Cinque Torri is the one you took early morning with the sunrise. It’s 👌🏽
Absolutely gorgeous photos! The lighting, the composition, the whole conception in each of the photos have been so meticulously curated that it feels a visual tour of the place even viewing the photos! But I'm curious to know why you avoid a little splash of color in the tiny figure used as a scale and sometimes, I don't know if it's for the size of the photo in the 26:56 because the concept of a little bit of color has become cliche or disconcerting? Mads, I'm already a great fan of your artistry in landscape and I've downloaded the light version of your eBook already and trying to download the full version of eBook for landscape and I'll remain ever grateful for your help!
As always, exceptionally done Mads. So glad to be a part of this trip. What's crazy is that I think I only saw you fly your drone twice. Seems like it was up all the time haha!
the first thing I can tell you is that my favorite photo is the one with the little lonely tree ... really beautiful! I understand very well your emotion on this trip ... I have been going to these places since I was a child and I still get excited when I see "my" mountains. thanks for these great videos! p.s sorry for my English translation 😬
Wow! I've enjoyed every moment of your Dolomites trip Mads. Thank you so much for taking us along. It is impossible to chose a favourite image , they are all stunning shots.
Can’t really find words that describe the feeling of seeing these gorgeous mountains and photos! Just WOW! Overwhelmed! Love the photo of the lonely tree, what an excellent life that tree must have, surrounded by those mountains. Thank you for these two videos, they are 👌🏻&🙌🏻
Great video again, thank you!!! About the "5 towers"... i like the 1 with the clouds. The lone tree on the ridge before the sun, the 2nd wider composition (with the opposite ridge) specific, is my overall favorite
Hi Mads, a wonderfull trip to the Italian Dolomites. Watching this video was amazing. A lot of epic spots and pics I found. My favorites are the ones at 12:30, 22:16 and 23:20. For me it is still unbliveable how you find all these amazing compositions like the one with the little tree. That's what is called experience. I need to learn more about compositions :-D Thanks for sharing this video with us.
Thanks again for taking us with you to one of my favorite places in the world! I really have to start focusing more on photography up there rather then "just" hiking and taking snapshots... Great video, the workshop must have been fun.
Just amazing! It's really hard to pick out a favorite image, they are all so beautiful. But, if I have to, the last image of the mountains reflected in the lake with that awesome sky is, in your wors, "just epic."
Once again, you have done a wonderful job in photographing the Dolomites, which are great and huge. You should go to photograph the Canadian Rockies; they are spectacular. I have a question, do you adjust your exposure one or two stops for the bright sun. You don't mention it and in viewing your live shot I can't tell from the live view what the exposures are. Mads, all your images are wonderful, but I prefer the one with the sun star against the peak on the right.
This has been an amazing serie! How I long to be back in the mountains after seeing this. Even when the conditions aren't as good, it's always good to be in the mountains, but with the weather you've had, it's really something special! I love the photos, from epic light to moody clouds, just stunning!
Great stuff,Dolomites are uniquely wonderful, glad you had fun. I always feel that while photos like the tree silhouette are amazing they could be anywhere. The uniquely Dolomite shots are the likes of the last one, the Tre Cime - really like the one with sunstar.
my favourite is the lone tree at 13:00 and of the two comparisons I liked the one with the starburst best. Thank you as always for such an awesome video - you are a master. Take care and be safe out there....
Amazing scenery to say the least! I prefer the moody, cloudy Cinque Torri sunrise. I think my favourite is the lone tree bathed in warm light. It's a challenge to pick a favourite with such beautiful surroundings.
Yes the little tree is great, so many great mountain images almost numb to them, but that tree image stands out as different.
Thanks for the adventure.
Absolutely spectacular ! Again!
an epic journey ❤️,
I am glad for you to be lucky to visit this location.
Amazing! Beautiful ! Incredible!!! Not enough words to describe the images you have captured!!!! Well done!!!!
Mine too Love it 😀
I love love love the image of the little tree growing on the hillside. It made me almost cry. It is how I feel sometimes, like that lone tree in a massive landscape.
No words that do justice to the video and the photos. Stunning.
High contrast sunrise with little tree was my favourite!
Excellent lets keep commenting on his Video so we can push him. He deserves it
Beautiful country!
the images at 10:30, 12:30 and 23:00 were my personal favourites this week Mads. What a magnificent and epic adventure you have had and hope the adventure is continuing in Wales and the Lake District
Having flown over the Dolomites dozens of times en-route to Greece, they never cease to amaze me.
Another trip in my bucket list…
Dolomites are unique indeed and your stills and vlog are excellent
Three times I have watched both videos into the last year. It's absolutely amazing enjoy watching. In each time I have learned anything more. Thanks so much for your incredible content and your training in TH-cam.

Thanks for putting so much good composition information in your videos. The epic mountain shots are amazing but I also loved the single tree backlit by the golden sunrise.
Magnificent video, Mads! Thanks for sharing your journey with us.
That litte tree at cinque torre is beautiful!
Mads, you are absolutely brilliant at putting these videos together. Your style and manner is so calm and collected that you create a style that people want to watch. they will keep coming back time and time again. Oh by the way the photography isn't to shabby either. Great job.
Just wonderful thank you. It’s fantastic pondering shots with you like this. All magic!
You are currently the World President of photography vlogging. Thank you for creating and sharing.
I can’t choose they are all stunning
I loved the first video in this series and the second is just as breathtaking. I love how light plays over mountain landscapes and your work captures that beautifully.
Absolutely loved the video series! The music you have picked perfectly fit the mood and the scenery 😎🤗
The left one of the Cinque Torri. Great photo, great place! Thanks for sharing the videos. Love them!!😃🙃
Another blast! Thanks Mads!
Favourites: lone tree collection and the new “smokin’ peak” 😁 epic!
My favorite ones are in 8.26 and 25.30. Awesome place.
WOW! What a fabulous job on both of these videos. Multiple goose bump events during both! Impossible for me to pick a favorite though....
My jaw practically hit the floor when I saw the shot starting at 23:38. The incredible majesty of the mountain shown in that composition actually brought a tear to my eye. Well done, sir! Well done.
Such a beautiful place! Great shots! Amazing!!!

the last picture is super epic that's all I can say WOOOW ❤️❤️❤️
too much beauty for me to choose a favorite. Stunning.

Wooow..., Incredíble photos, congratulaciones...😉👌
So great like watching a wonderful movie!
Two fabulous videos, Mads. So much work - thanks for sharing! Love the many moody images here!
Mads, thank you for another amazing video. I agree the small tree with the sunlit background was amazing, but the reflection photo with colorful sky at the end was my favorite. You also seem to always choose music that adds to the drama of you videos.
Absolutely outstanding Mads. both parts 1 and 2!
Well done!
Wonderful video of an amazing location. Thank you for sharing the details of how you look at the scenes.

Magnificent area, beautiful pictures and great video.
Absolutely fantastic,Mads!!!!
Just two words Mads - Absolutely Epic!
Just fantastic.
Perfect timing. Lunch time entertainment sorted !!
Having finished watching. All I can say is wow. Absolutely incredible images and as always perfectly portrayed and explained throughout the video
Absolutely Epic!
I like the sun star effect.
Epic Mads, loved these 2 video's on the Dolomites.
Breathtaking, can’t get better than this. Congratulations. Stunning photos and views. 🧡💛💜💚
the first thing I can tell you is that my favorite photo is the one with the little lonely tree ... really beautiful!

Absolutely breath taking!!! Bucket list item, for sure!!!
Artistic images Mads, I'm always amazed at the amount of gear you pack around! I suppose if you want a particular look, you need a lot of gear.
Stunning video. Very inspirational scenes. Thank you for sharing your amazing trip with us ❤️
absolutely magnificent!
The little tree with the sunrise is my fav, and I prefer the Mts with starburst from the 2 captures. Love your work!
Wow! I've enjoyed every moment of your Dolomites trip Mads. Thank you so much for taking us along. It is impossible to chose a favourite image , they are all stunning shots.

Totally amazing. Love it all.
Thanks for bringing us on this stunning journey. Fantastic music and images and also love the drone and Timelapse B-roll.
Stunning imagery. Very inspirational!
Thank you Mads.. excellent work
Great video again, thank you!!!
About the "5 towers"... i like the 1 with the clouds.
The lone tree on the ridge before the sun, the 2nd wider composition (with the opposite ridge) specific, is my overall favorite
But i also like the shot of the peaks with the clouds around it (without foreground) a lot!👍

I am absolutely speechless & thoroughly marveled! Looking forward to your April 2023 Dolomites. 26:57
One word….sublime !
Congratulations, Mads. These are the two best landscape photography videos I've ever seen. And the photos.... WOW! They are the best!
Poor Monica. Did she get to take any photos herself 🤣🤣🤣 Great video. Looks stunning
Once again, you have done a wonderful job in photographing the Dolomites, which are great and huge. You should go to photograph the Canadian Rockies; they are spectacular. Epic, as Part1. Congrats, great tour Mads
Wow, can't say anything else. I liked the moody image the best out of the two side by side photos.

Definitely deserves many many more views! Alot of effort went into these videos. Amazing moody pictures!!!
Beautiful images and so inspirational. Thank you
Amazing scenery to say the least! I prefer the moody, cloudy Cinque Torri sunrise. I think my favourite is the lone tree bathed in warm light. It's a challenge to pick a favourite with such beautiful surroundings.
Beautiful work again and wow, what a location 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Breathtaking photos and videos, thanks!
Really nice shots, you have been very lucky with the weather , I think your photo of Baita Segantini ( the cloudy one) in the best one I've ever seen.
