Sounds awesome!
Thanks ☺️
Great mods, thanks for sharing !!! Do you mind sharing where you bought the keycaps ??
In the description. I shared the link.
Nice work!
Thanks 😊
@@MandoRevswhen I bought this keyboard it showed me a rgb control panel to change the colors, how do I access it?
@@ahmadsultan2870 You have to donwload and install the app. Go to global.machenike.com/products/k500 and download the control center.
Incrível o seu trabalho. Ficou demais!
Thank you
Nice vid! Quick question, can i use the pe foam that came with the keyboard packaging for the pe foam mod? My K500 arrives tomorrow and I'll mod it as soon as I get it.
Update: Did the case foam mod, tape mod, band-aid mod (on the plate, i also left the stock stabs as it is as I have no available lubes on hand), foam mod on the spacebar, installed akko crystal blues and pbt matcha keycaps. Now it looks and sounds so much better compared to stock.
Yes you can use any PE foam.
Amazing transformation!! Is it worth just to add Eva foam, tape, pe foam and the switches foam?
Yes. You can also just do the EVA foam, tape mod and switch and stabilizer mod. That will already made a huge difference from the stock unmodded keyboard.
@@MandoRevs many thanks!
How did you manage to put holes in the PE foam at 7:38 ? did you manually put holes for each pins or did you ram a switch into it
Used soldering iron to melt the foam and make small holes. Hehe 🙃
Hi! Amazing video!! I got a question, if you don't mind, kinda new to modding. What did you do to the stabilizers? Did you cut something?
Yes I did cut the stabilizer feet and lubed it. Check this video about stabilizer mods. th-cam.com/video/4XCErBcn5lc/w-d-xo.htmlsi=9DDJmQZJYT3betAb
Hey, nice work! Do you know if I can change the layout to ABNT2 (Brazilian)?
I think so because you can customize your key layouts using the software.
Hi, very nice mod! I plan to buy one but do you know if we can reverse the keys to use it in Azerty? Thank you!
I think so because the keyboard has a software you can customize the keys and functions.
nice modding, just wanted to ask you something, can i put akko switches on them if i wanted to replace the switches?
I believe so as long as it's a 3 pin switch. Haven't tried though.
my kailh switches wouldnt fit the sockets, the holes in the sockets for the pins are way smaller than the kailh pins
Does changing the keycaps do more than modifying the switches? I only did tape mod and EVA foam so far, and it feels like the cheap noisy sound is reduced. I want to try PE Foam over the PCB too. And then switches + keycaps later after saving😆
Yes changing the keycap does make a huge difference depending on the keycap brand and quality you use. The one I used are thick.
@@MandoRevs Thank you! This keyboard is also just limited to 3-pin switches too, can't get access to the more modern ones, it's a shame :(
did you mod the switches? i noticed the pcbs for these cheap mechanical keyboards don't' have the 2 holes on the sides for most of the switches out there.
Not mod, just lubed.
Hi
How thick the foams have to be?
Regards
You can start with 2mm EVA foam and 0.5mm PE foam. You can also just disregard the PE foam.
you roock man thanks broo
Thank bro. Appreciate it. 😊
What's the difference between the k500 and k600? Thinking of dabbing my hands in the the mecha keyboard rabbit hole and want to try something cheap first.
K600 is only like 10 bucks more and seems newer
Sorry don't know for sure but I think its the wireless/bluetooth connectivity. I don't own the K600.
Need added keycup rings more and do best experience 😊
I have those and didn't use it. It made no difference. Maybe it will on thin keycaps. I have thick ones.
Hi. Does it make sense to add o-rings to this modding?
Very minor to no difference. I didn't put mine with o-rings. I think they're useless.
How thick is Eva foam? I'm scared if I buy a 2mm one and the case won't close
Mine was 2mm I believe. I forgot.
@@MandoRevs thanks!
How did you get the top plastic plate off 2:03? I spent hours trying to remove it and nothing :(
After removing the screws, use thin flat screw driver to pry the corners. It has a small locking latch thing in the corners.
@@MandoRevs Thank you very much! I'll try that.
Damn I'm glad I wasn't the only one who struggled to pull those switches out, they were hard af at first
you're not supposed to pull them out like that, switches have a clip you press for them to let go of the plate.
@@Arxgxmi Not these switches. It is just too tight on the switch deck.
i bought the k500w and mine had the clips on the top and bottom, I somewhat doubt these are different, i had the same problem as you because i simply wasn't doing it right lol@@MandoRevs
I'm trying to replace a swtich and that thing refuses to come out. Do I need a tool like yours to do it? Because the one that came with keyboard ain't working for me.
Yeah the switch puller that came with the keyboard is too weak. Those switches are really hard to pull. You need to buy or use those metal type pullers.
You can just use the included switch pullers. You have to use a bit more force when gripping the switches (push the top side & bottom side towards each other harder) though before pulling them out.
I damaged almost half of my switches' plastic covering before I realised what I was doing wrong
You can also remove the whole keyboard pcb and just push the keys out, i find that easier and therapeutic compared to wrestling with the keys
@@shannhanz4230 I finally got it out, it took a lot of tries and I had to do it horizontally because the grip on the vertical wasn't tight enough.
is that a regular masking tape?
Yep regular masking tape. You can also use painters tape. Whichever is available for you.
thoughts on this keeb after 4 months?
Still using it until now and still loving it. =)
Pwede pa mod Jing. 😂
Huy, dili ko pro uy... newbie ra sad ko. Hehe
Sigh, I can't pull out the switches with mine T_T
Use the metal puller.
Paytera sa mod oi.
Haha.. Salamat
Then you use a headset with noise cancelation =P
I know. I now have a better condenser mic. 😛
