In X-wing Alliance, an old pc space fight Sim game, you played as a family with a couple YT-1300's. Each one looks like the Millenium Falcon, but only have one laser turret on the top, were less maneuverable, and had a lower top speed. Later in the game you have a chance to fly as the Millenium Falcon, and you get the benefit of both laser turrets, extra maneuverability, and higher top speed. *If memory serves, I played it last over 20 years ago.
"Sabra" and "Selu". And also the YT-2000 "Otana".
That is a good game
The X-Wing series of games was brilliant.
Im glad someone said it. I loved that game and the Ortana is one of my favourite ships in Star Wars
Yeah i thought it was kind of odd - you play the whole game as Ace Azzameen and then the game abandons him in the final mission for Lando in the Falcon. It’s like the only “huh?” moment in a game that’s aging like fine wine, with the graphic advancements.
The Otana is one of the well known of the YT-2000 freighter models.
@@dennisdean7366 I remember the Outrider YT-2400
@@ColinKennedy-q1y YT-2000 made it's appearance in the Star Wars XWing Alliance video game. Awesome ship!
That is my favorite. Even had my buddy 3D print it for me
The Corellian family tree 🌴
I read this in the the voice of the Coconut Song, particularly the line "From the coconut family" x3
I like the YT-1930... seems like an easy "modifcation" would be to have a module for the mandibles that contains a couple of heavy blaster cannons and a proton torpedo launcher thus turning the "light freighter" into a heavy fighter (think F-14 in space).
The YT-1930 is my favorite YT model.
I have a company of mercenary Star Wars OCs that have a heavily modified version that's been stretched out to have an internal hanger bay capable of storing smaller starfighters and a dorsal opening landing pad connected to the hanger bay able to comfortably accommodate starships the size a Lambda-class shuttle (wings folded obviously).
1930 gang gang
I also am a fan of the 1930
Having grown up at just the right time of course I love the 2400. It also showed up more definitively in Cannon during the Rebels episode, “Iron Squadron,”
The Outrider Is What Introduced Me To The Star Wars Legends Universe With SOTE Being My First Game To Play For N64
Ah after SOTE. Id prefer the Outrider over the falcon .
.5 pfft
I just love Corellian ships
I'm quite taken with the YT-1930 myself.
I've been working (very slowly) on a SW fan fic with a character named after myself, via an old SW RPG character naming strategy. After Order 66, he was gifted a salvaged YT-1000, a C1 droid, and an AC-36 pilot droid by Bail Organa, and began working as a pilot running freight and passengers in the Outer Rim, to avoid the Empire. The ship was named "Wanderlust", because of all the traveling he ended up doing. I even had a small, low-detail, model of a YT-1000 3D printed to help with my imagination. Later on, the Wanderlust crew joined the Rebel Alliance.
Nice! Is this from the old West End Games d6 game, or the d20 Star Wars Saga Edition RPG?
Glad to see the comments mentioning the Otana (YT-2000) from X wing alliance. That game got me into Star wars and its ships lore
A TIE fighter video like this would be 2 hours long.
I just want to thank you for all of these videos. I assume a lot of people have questions about Star Wars lore and events, but you really go into the details that nobody thinks about until they actually start looking at the lore and questioning the movies. And you present the information with such ease. I started watching more of the animated stuff to get the background information just because of your videos.
YT-1930 has to be the peak of the line, seems like you get the most bang for your buck and a little of everything that came before it plus the most stable flight of the line
Give it up for the Otana, from X-Wing Alliance - a 25yr old-ish game that’s aging like fine wine. I highly recommend real Star Wars fans (not Disney SW fans) give it a look. The YT-2000 and -2400 are truly unique designs, from back when they actually cared about the products they put out.
I had some books from Starlog that had Millenium Falcon blueprints. These books were from the 90s, and before Phantom Menace. I preferred that layout to the official 2020s layout. It featured a kitchen/galley behind the circuit bay Han and Leia had their firsr kiss in.
The YT-2000, the Otana, is my favorite.
Finally a Corellian YT-Series type/Variant!
The YT-2000 has been my favorite of the YT series, only beat out by the CEC YV-929.
You need a much bigger crew for that one, the 2000 can be flown be a single pilot if necessary.
"ionosphere," not Lonosphere. Great video. That just stuck out to me.
Thanks
Thank you!!
im VERY partial to the 1930, my TTRPG character had one and modified it into a bomber using TIE Bomber Munitions. She also had chunks of TIE fighter imbedded in the mandibles from a mid air collision with said TIE fighter because the other players manning the turrets couldnt hit a barn if they fell on it.
I'd take a 2000 every time. Loved flying the Otana in X wing Alliance.
It was such an amazing ship.
Back when they cared more about the products they put out than the agenda they were pushing.
I love the design of the YT 1930, just wish I knew of a game that'd let me fly it. Well I can dream.
These videos are great! These must take many hours or days to search for all of these!
Great summary, although there might be 1 issue, the wookiepeedia (which might be wrong) says that the cargo of the YT-2000 is only 15 tons larger than the YT-1300.
Gotta love how they make up some weird stories of continuity about something a kit-basher came up with in the 1970s with the models he had at hand. The problem with modern sci-fi is also, that every design must be purposeful. Purposeful from our point of view doesn't mean it needs to look like anything we would make up, with our minds. I wish there was a little more randomness, especially in Star Wars, these days, again.
anyone else just bingeing these videos?
You forgot to mention another YT-2000: The Otana from X-Wing Alliance flown by the Azzameen Family
I'm especially fond of the YT-1930 & YT-2000. Being CEC designs, it's easy to make custom hybrid ships.
One such, the Krayt Pearl, has the aft portion of a 1930, the forward portion of a 2000, and the heavily modified cockpit section of a Skipray Blast Boat. This ship is operated by a crew of former Stormtroopers, and named after the method in which she was purchased & modified (they hunt Greater Krayt Dragons for their pearls, as well as the teeth, claws, bones, and bile).
If I was to pick one, it would have to be the YT-1930. Nice design in my opinion, but there were other good ones as well.
1:23 soft gasp of shock
Otana, YT2000.. Personal fav..
Peril in the EYE-ONOSPHERE. That was a capital i, not a lowercase L, lol!
Wow. I must've been really stoned when I said this, haha! Muh bad!
Well I love how years ago everything was a “modified Corellian YT-1300”. Examples from the Galaxy Guide 6 : Tramp Freighters. The Oo-Ta Goo-Ta and the Solar Flare.
My favorite is the YT-1930
I realize that this particular ship is part of the EU, but isn't the Ebon Hawk an earlier model of the YT freighter series?
What the hell is an aluminum falcon? 😂😂
I like to think the YT-series actually goes back thousands of years, with the Ebon Hawk being an early one. It's estimated the Millenium Falcon is over 100 years old by the time of the sequels, and it's known that Star Wars ships often serve for hundreds of years (and presumably the companies; look at Czerka which both canonically and in legends survived 4000+ years). So, it would make a lot more sense. If you go by the Heir to the Empire series, working YT-1300's were rare just a few years after Endor, so realistically there's got to be a lot more newer models out there than what we've seen in lore (maybe which don't fit the classic YT mold or are significantly smaller). The YT-1300 was considered older by the time of Shadows of the Empire, with the YT-2400 considered fairly new.
Sorry, the Ebon Hawk was a Dynamic class freighter, and not a member of the YT family. That said, many design elements found in the YT family were used in other earlier ships including the Dynamic class, and the XS stock light freighter, which is sort of like a YT-1300 scaled up by a factor of three. I'm still wondering why they called a 101 meter long ship a "light freighter".
I like the yt-2000.
My favorite is the YT-1930, but I might be a little biased since I’m the guy that created it. 😅
Seriously? I LOVE the 1930. How do I contact you outside of TH-cam? I have some ideas...
If I was to build a form of merchant fleet in the Star Wars Legends universe, I would definitely go with various models of YT freighters. Maybe a couple of VCX-100s and a modified Pelta-class frigate or two.
IMO I think the yt 1930 is the best looking
Funny how we describe these imaginary ships like historical pieces... you can basically tell anything in my mind
So the YT-1930s were the Honda Civics of their time considering all the mods you can do 😂
LMFAO!!! No, they're more like mid '50s-late '60s Chevies.
The 2400 and the 2000 do it for me. I may be biased because of being the target demographic for Shadows of the Empire and X-Wing Alliance though...
X-Wing alliance was peak space sim with a fantastic story!
Yt 2400 is my favorite
2000 for me, i fell in love with that type in X-Wing Alliance.
Also, i prefer my cockpits centered. But hey, to each their own.
The YT-1000 and YT-2400 are on my list of ship I want to own if I lived in a galaxy far far away.
The Otana, a YT 2400 freighter, was the main ship of the video game X-wing Alliance. That is what I got to know that ship from...
YT-2000, the one with the centered cockpit. YT-2400 would be like Dash Rendar´s Outrider.
I've vastly preferre the legends origin for both Han Solo and the millennium falcon. So much more interesting then the solo movie, although the imperial Army in solo was intriguing but trying to cram all of Han Solo's origin in the one movie just lost too much.
I prefer Legends (aka, TRUE Canon) as well.
I kit-bashed a YT-1760 mockup in 2004. Still have it.
What the hell is an aluminium falcon?
One of the Star Wars shows should have shown the YT1300 moving cargo like at 1:14... missed opportunity
Listen a star wars „Trucking“ simulator in wich you can customize your own YT modell freighter and you fly through the galaxy as either a legitimate cargo pilot or a smuggler wouldn‘t that be awesome?
My favorite YT ship is sadly not canon or legends, but a fan-made ship, the YT-2600.
I'd rather watch Fan-made videos over the Disney garbage.
I never needed to know this but I’m glad I do now
Yt-2400 yah true that was the only movie but It was on tv shows like Star Wars rebels and games as mentioned
10:35. That's it? The ship that was at the center of Shadows of the Empire, the biggest Star Wars expansion pre-prequels, and all that's mentioned is that it's Dash Rendar's ship?
YT-2400 is my favourite of the YT Series. You should do a video on the YV series of CEC ships.
Another yt2400 was used in the jedi outcast video game. I'm surprised it wasn't mentioned
How do you make this list and not mention the YT2400 the Iron Squadron from Rebels S3E8??
Not every type. 2400 types, we be here for a while. Every one shown or talked about yes.
The millennium falcon was based off a dinner plate with drawing a triangle on one side.
One thing you didn't mention about the YT-1300 was that there was a center cockpit variant. That might well be my favorite, but I do have a soft spot for the YT-1760 as well.
People don't mention the center-cockpit option for the YT-1300 because it disproves their headcanons about shipping logistics and how "small freighters aren't efficient".
Is this Ebon Hawk a corellian ship? I'm curious, it gives the right vibes
It was produced by "Core Galaxy Systems", a company that ceased to exist 500BBY due to competition from Kuat Drive Yeards.
Sadly i couldn´t find out where CGS was based from, might have been Corellia.
Could you please make one for C Series/Vcx Series too?
Honestly I like the 1930 and 2000 the most, might have to use one of those for a Star Wars 5e game
this is a strange family tree😂😂
heck, Dash Rendar was the main protagonist of a very iconic Nintendo 64 game.
You could say the Ebon Hawk from Darth Revan's era was an ancestor of the Millennium Falcon due to it's appearance and performance being on par with the Falcon. Perhaps this was purposely done by Bioware when they created the Ebon Hawk. To have a starship that is much like the Millennium Falcon to be a call back for Star Wars fans.
It was, Bioware fully admitted to that, though the Ebon Hawk is much more massive, being way larger and heavier than the Falcon´s YT-1300 series.
Did I blink when you mentioned the Ghost?
A Lego MOC YT-1450 Light Freighter - "The Nadir"
So what about the "Ghost" from Star Wars Rebels? That's not a Corellian ship?
My favorite Star Wars ship is the Otana (yt-2000) from X-Wing Alliance. It's an absolute beast of a ship!
Jesum Crowe! Were waiting for a Freelancer/Starfield type game in the Star Wars Wars Galaxy!
Since we saw the milenium falcon in ep 3 it doesn't make sense because we know that then it had the escape pod and was blue
Revenge of the Sith came out before Rogue One and before Disney bought Star Wars and so we had no idea back then that it looked the other way in Solo
Couldve been before lando got it
Do we know if it was specifically the Millennium Falcon, or was it just another YT-1300?
@@zacharybyford8200 the solo film mad it seem like the ship is blue sith the escape pod the ship we ship we see in the original trilogy and ep 3 would be unique to han
Love the Outrider.
YT 2000 would be my personal ship to take a ride in the stars.
No one cares
I don't know, my fav is still the YT-600. the "Ford truck" of the YT class. really small, really light cargo, only 80 tons cargo cap.. max of 5 people, 2 crew 3 passanger or 1 crew 4... it wouldn't really be all that special except that its easly modifyable.
its small, its light, it can go places larger freighter and shuttles cant... 60' long, 50' wide, 10' high... you can park it almost anywhere... and for a "hero ship" its small size and such makes its just feal right...
They make some excellent ships

Learn how to read words properly.
Everything you need is right there in the same sentence. A capital L(l) and a capital I (i)
I bet you know what the "I" in TIE fighter stands for but you've never heard of an ionosphere.
Asteroid dancer is a baller name for a ship
I just realize that the design of most of these remind me of the Kilrathi Dralthi´s from the Wing Commander games.
Otana crew rise up
are you going to play Lost Flotilla when it comes out
The Millennium Falcon (YT-1300FP) and the Outrider (YT-2400) are the ones I'm familiar with...
It's be-lied not bellied.
Most famous in science fiction. Must I remind you of a ship name U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 and all her variants
Hate to break it to you but Star Wars had more mass appeal. Not saying that Star Trek wasn't good, just that it was just a bit more niche. I'd rank the Enterprise in the top three, though, likely tied with the Tardis from Doctor Who and edging out Galactica from Battlestar Galactica.
6:02 peril in the Lonosphere? You mean the I-On-O-Sphere?
Question: what the fuck the prefix "YT" stand for? Cannon or tip of the cap, what were production designations meaning?
I don't think it actually means anything. "Y*" just seems to be CEC's designation for "light freighter", with the letter denoting its particular usage case. The YTs all seem to be general-use light-freighters, so I'm guessing the "T" stands for "transport". Another, less well known line from CEC is the YU-series, of which we only really know of the YU-410 which in its intended role was a specialized oversized vehicle carrier, so I guess the "U" means "utility". But that's just me spitballing ideas.
I would use the Corellian Spice Freighter as my personal ship
My favorite is the Millennium Falsehood and generally all things Wraith squadron
2400 all day. Change some cargo over to power generation n shields. Add some missiles.
I like the second to last one
What was the ship from KOTOR, i always just assumed it was a YT series because of the look of it.
YT 2000 baby. Wish it got more love.
Nacelle is pronounced nah-cell
What?
No volt cobra?
Doctor aphra needs a lil love ..lol
My fav is Millennium Falcon
If i owned one it would have to be symmetrical lol ,
and YT stands for ?
