The fact that they ate over 40 menu items isn’t even what’s shocking....did anyone peep the prices?! Who’s paying $11 for a grapefruit? And $6 for a freaking boiled egg?!! I JUST WANNA TALK
To me that sounds like business like usual for a business that's all about food and cooking. The somewhat weird stuff would be ingredients like boxes of ostrich eggs or even highly specialized glazing machines, and the strangest of all would be the dremel tools and whatever other repurposed powertools Claire brings to the test kitchen for Gourmet Makes. Grapefruit for $11? Sounds pretty normal, especially given that they are situated in the heart of a big city with big boy prices and fancy establishments.

I was really surprised actually, I've never seen anyone react to spiked hot chocolate... but then again, I live in a country where people make brandy in their backyards
Claire and Delaney getting massively excited about artichoke hearts at the exact same moment is one of the sweetest things I've ever seen
Their faces at 6:50 is truly sweet. Definitely agree. 😇
The fact that they ate over 40 menu items isn’t even what’s shocking....did anyone peep the prices?! Who’s paying $11 for a grapefruit? And $6 for a freaking boiled egg?!! I JUST WANNA TALK
new york.
simple answer.
I was looking for this comment, everything is outrageously expensive
I came to the comment section to look for other people that are also outraged by an $11 grapefruit.
Isn't it like $6 for fried tomatoes? They better be the best tomatoes I've ever eaten
NYC plus high reputation = high cost as they can afford to be packed for all opening hours.
Most iconic scene for me was when they "MMMHHHMM" at the same time at 12:55 😂🙌🏼
oml 😣
Imagine being the finance person for the company, approving expense reports, and you come across a receipt with an eleven dollar grapefruit in it 😅
You don't think they can afford it? Besides- free advertising.
@@kimroberts2704 They can obviously afford it...
1/2 grapefruit
$11 for a grapefruit? On a cooking production? Did you watch the thanksgiving series? How many "organic Grass fed" turkeys did Andy and Brad go through? 15? at what? maybe $40 a pop?
Behind the scenes I imagine Claire stuffing pastries into her purse while drinking another bowl of coffee before leaving. XD
The moment I saw Claire in the thumbnail I was so happy knowing she wouldn't lose her mind in this episode
I love how Claire will tell someone to go ahead and do something on their own and then she judges them the whole time 😂
I am not sure that I could watch any episode with Claire and not be thoroughly entertained. I love watching Delany too! Someone below commented that he seems very charismatic and I totally agree. I feel like he could be the type that girls looked over when young and are now probably pounding his door down. He has an inviting demeanor and is very attractive.
I hope he sees this comment
On my browser this comment cut off before '...his door down'; still, I did not disagree.
@@daniellemhall1358 me too!
"Egg white omelettes get kind of a bad rap, and I think mostly it's deserved" ~ Claire Saffitz, 2020
Watching Claire’s eyelids get heavier and heavier and her bites get smaller and smaller as this meal went on is TRUE BRUNCH GOALS!
21:56 the way she looks at him explaining their favorite dish... Lol
This episode honestly makes me so happy. And Claire's glee whenever she mentions the menu item in French is infectious. Nice one, Delany!
Next on Bon Appetit, Claire will recreate everything she had on the menu.
Alex Delaney looks and acts like a boy you'd have known in elementary school
Can't explain beyond that lol
Yo but it makes sennnnnse! I love him 🥰
Exactly
My first best friend was a boy named Paulie. Alex could be his son!
Yeeess, one that you briefly consider having a crush on
And he's good at everything and everyone loves him
I love how Claire gets bashful when she names the dish using it's French name. Great episode.
Me looking at the prices for the pastry: oh that seems reasonably priced
Me later converting it to aud: ...oh nvm
NYC is actually a scam with prices like that.
reasonably priced BUT you also have to tip in America (and a decent tip is the bill doubled)
edit: i meant reasonably priced in Australian numbers
@@jhubeJELLO seriously?! I thought 20% were the norm! Wow...
@@emiliana1767 it is, he's lying.
@@emiliana1767 It is... Idk what the other person is talking about.

“Interesting Technique”
I’ve never seen Claire aggressively judge someone like that, not even Brad 😂😂😂
you need to watch the Thanksgiving special, she's..... even her mother acknowledged that she is hella judgy
Watching during Coronavirus and seeing the fingers and saliva all over that shared bagel. ☠️😷🙀
Claire: Starts shooting Jelly Belly Beans (~11/6/2019) and the debacle begins
BA: Emergency meeting, we're losing Claire
Delany: I can take her out for breakfast, would that help?
BA: Shots Trying Everything with Claire (11/12/2019)
Claire's sanity is saved
I am _super_ impressed with your eagle eye spotting of the date. You caught the date off the NY Times in the split second when they held the salmon up against it. Well done! (I had to re-watch that segment just to see if that's how you did it.)
She should be a guest on It's Alive! Going Places!
*blink*
Oh, American date style.
Is really no one else extremely upset that they didn't show footage for any of the beautifully poached egg yolks? WE ONLY SAW THE WHITES!!!
JUST A RECOMMENDATION FOR THE NEXT EP FOR OUR AMAZING CHEFS: HAVE THEM COOK 1 DISH AND LET THEM COOK IT ON THEIR OWN STYLE. THEN HAVE EVERYONE TASTE IT AND GUESS WHO COOKED IT.
LOVE YOU BA!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Great idea!!
Ooohhh I like this!
BA DO THIS
Dudette, no need to yell.
I would 100% watch this BA series.
I loved when they both “mmm’d” at the same time Claire has my heart😭😭
Elvy Best haha I know! They had a moment there.
The friendship energy pouring out of this video makes me so happy.
I'm so glad I watch this, Delaney is such a genuine person for real.
Delaney: 'I brought a friend, you know who she is, my friend...'
Jelly Bean episode: 😶
I mean, Claire was very irritated at that moment, and lashing out is very normal.
if it doesn't happen all the time, then it's fine. friendships can't be all roses and sunshine. there will be moments you lash out. and looking at Delaney, he probably forgave her.
😂
Delany just has that energy that everybody likes him, even my husband loves him
He's the guy you bring to meet your friends and they end up liking him more than they like you
not brad
@@mgnta1 this is so accurate omg
Wait are we not gonna talk about a segmented grapefruit being ELEVEN DOLLARS 😂
Manasvini Balakrishnan I feel like if i were there I would prefer if I paid them $2 for the grapefruit and then they paid me $9 for me to segment it myself.
Those segments were perfectly cut and there was no pith. And besides where they were and that restaurant has very high clientele, they can afford $11 for a grapefruit. This is definitely not your McDonald's breakfast.
Why does that surprise you? It's an old and very respected French restaurant in Soho, New York, of course it's expensive!
@@givememore4free still overpriced
@@bman2cool4u68 Things are worth whatever people pay for them. If they sell for $11, then they are worth at least $11
Claire’s smile and laugh are so contagious I love her 😭
