I love Cindy Sherman and her Untitled Film Stills. She hit my radar a long time ago during her exhibit at ICA in Boston. Her "untitled film stills" struck me as being "poignant noir" (yes, I just coined this phrase). She and her work are highly artistic, well produced and avant garde for her generation. I would love to hear her speak or meet her in person one day!
Good Cindy Are this girls talking about Cindy or about art ?? Cindy has made herself the focus of Cindy. This is as much an art as it can be used as a tool in art But you can't look at it as art because when Cindy is gone, still the art remains and when the art is gone, there's at least Cindy. Art is never free but making art for free is making it not in vain.
it's really interesting how her work capitalizes on how women's identities are so different but need to all be appreciated.
