    If you have a Jeep JK Wrangler and one that's running bigger tires, I'm sure you've noticed a significant decrease in the amount of stopping power your factory brakes provide. While there are a lot of brake kits out there to address this, most are pretty pricey and only come with new front rotors and a new master cylinder. While these kits do help improve your ability to stop, they still tend to lock up your tires and cause a considerable amount of nose dive. Of course, this is because they only address the front end of your Jeep. In an effort to address these issues and provide a significantly better braking system, Dynatrac developed their all new ProGRIP brake system just for you.
    First and foremost, what makes the Dynatrac ProGRIP brake system so much better is the fact that it upgrades both front and rear brakes. They do this with new larger rotors, new bigger caliper brackets that sit farther out from the axle centerline and with new proprietary brake pads that provide maximum adhesion of your tires to the ground without locking them up. Of course, being that this kit utilizes the factory calipers, there is no need change out your master cylinder or address any of the plumbing and this means it's super easy to install and there no loss in pedal feel. All this results in an affordable balanced brake system that gives you a 30% reduction in stopping distance.
    This short video will highlight the Dyantrac ProGRIP brake system, all the components that comes with it and even covers the basic installation of it to show you just how easy it is to do. We hope that you find it educational and helpful.

    As much as I'd love to get this kit, with the Canadian dollar in the toilet and bringing it to over $1,300 CAD, I'll have to wait it out until our dollar is higher. Looks like an amazing product.

    Just installed mine today. This kit is no joke. After break in I performed a couple hard stops and man oh man...! Stops my JKUR on a dime riding on 35's and 3" lift. Still notice some nose dive but goddamn! Stops like my old E90 M3 and that's no lie.

    great video! something I've had issues with on other vehicles I went bigger on brakes was rotor/wheel clearance. I didn't see where wheel fitment was addressed but found it on Dynatrac's website: "The Dynatrac ProGrip Brake System fits Jeep Wranglers with 17-inch wheels (wheel spacers are required with 17-inch factory wheels), and the system will fit in nearly all aftermarket wheels without spacers. NOTE: This kit does not fit Mickey Thompson Sidebiter II wheels due to the unusual inner profile of the wheel."

    Great stuff, but what got my attention is the suspension, it is coil-over with an additional external shock, that's 2 shock on each side, total 8 shocks, no wonder you said the nose doesn't dive when you break!

    • @wayalife
      @wayalife  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +DeZert Fox eh, you can believe that if you want but you'd be wrong. Before the installation of the new brakes, we still saw considerable nose dive and saw even more on a similarly built Jeep running big brakes up front only. On that Jeep, the nose dive was even greater due to the front brakes doing all the work.

    Should have made clear that you should pump the brakes to take up the slack between pads, disc and caliper BEFORE driving, as someone is bound not to and find they have next to no brakes the first time they press the pedal. I know that's a bit saftey-sally but it does happen.

    • @wayalife
      @wayalife  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Mikeys Garage I suppose there's a lot of things I could have made clear but doing a complete and thorough installation video wasn't what we were trying to do. In fact, as you may not have noticed, we only covered the installation of the front kit only and not the rear let alone how to wrap things up. What I do make very clear is that the installation process we show was for "reference ONLY" to "help illustrate just how easy it is to install". I specifically state that people need to READ THE DIRECTIONS to verify that they are doing things correctly. The instructions give detailed steps that you need to follow and it covers way more than we showed in the video including how to properly break in the brake pads.

    Excuse my ignorance, I get the stopping power of a larger rotor, but if the break pads are not bigger to grip those bigger rotors what's the point? for what I understand moving the caliper outward creates more leverage, but also more friction/ heat, are you relying exclusively in the ceramic material of the pad? without considering increasing the size of the break pad? I need to upgrade my breaks, I installed a lift an a conservative 35 inch tire size I can feel the difference in the breaking with added weight and tire size an upgrade is necessary and fast.

    I thought that brake power was distributed the way it is so the lighter back end don't lock up first and you lose control. By making the braking power shift towards the back end and thus reducing nose dive, aren't you creating a hazard? What research have you done on this?

    • @wayalife
      @wayalife  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @wlh227 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Have you ever ridden a bicycle? What happens if you get on the front brakes harder than the rear brakes? When pulling a trailer which brakes should you apply the most force to? The correct answer to these question should give you a clue as to why you want a bit more pressure applied to the rear brakes.

      I suppose it is possible to fit on a 16" wheel but I wouldn't recommend 16" even if you could. 17" is a much more common size and you'll find that there are a LOT more options available in terms of wheel options and tire sizes and a lot of times, for less money.
