  • A review of a knife that could to to hell and back, then half of Georgia. This particular model is the commercial edition of that issued to the U.S. Green Beret's upon graduation.
Hope you enjoyed and please like, comment, and or subscribe.

Recently got this exact knife. Chris Reeve 7" Green Beret, Flat Dark Earth, Non-Serrated, S35VN steel. It's a beautiful knife, especially in that color. The micarta grip is very comfortable, and the full tang blade ends in a strike point which doubles as the lanyard hole.
It's an easy blade to choke up for more precise work, since the top guard isn't as long, and there's a good choil on it. It's more of a combat knife of course, but is also very suitable for bushcrafting and batonning.

Yeah, never slam the cylinder shut on a Chris Reeve fixed-blade knife. I have a large Chris Reeve Inkosi that I got new a couple years ago, and I enjoy it very much. Do you know what this video makes me think of, though? My 12 inch Tramontina. I think it was $9 including sheath. I sharpened it up, custom-shaped the wood grip, and polished it a little. If I go out in the wilderness and expect to do some serious work with my knife, which do I take with me? Well, my Emerson a100. ;-)

Hi there. The steel is actually cpm s35vn. A steel developed by crucible steels and Chris reeve himself and it was developed specifically to be a blade steel.

@@TheGeekyNerd no problem you're very welcome. I have the same knife but with the black pvd coating. I also have a 5.5"' version in the same flat dark earth finish as yours. The reason I bought the 5.5"' is because they have now been discontinued and no doubt the price will increase over time. I believe I got the last new one ever available in the uk from the only official Chris reeve supplier in the uk (Framar knives). So I was really happy about that. The fit and finish on chris reeve knives is simply impeccable. Ive heard all kinds of things about other brands having amazing fit n finish like bark river and TRC and I've had them all and none are equal to Chris reeve. The best of the rest are TRC. Bark river... well all I can say is if they were once really good they no longer are. I recently got a bravo 1 and it had several blemishes. Some really bad. The grind on the tip was particularly awful. On one side it looked like it had been filed flat. Yeah we might pay more for chris reeve products but at least you wont be let down on that score. I've had three of his knives now and have never found the smallest issue on any of them. Real heirloom quality.

I doubt there are many with the same level of fit n finish. Chris reeve knives are absolutely perfect in every way. The highest quality control there is. They're collectors items not so much users. Obviously a user isnt gonna spend £300 on a knife that he beats on. These are for ppl who just appreciate a very nicely made product. No they aren't very practical but that's not the point
