Imagine back in those days where battles were fought with swords my goodness one on one battles must have been super intense just you and your opponent both trained for this moment where one man can only walk away

Guns were also available in samurai times
And due to their nature were not effective past the start of the battle
Tho you can argue since we have more guns of different types now
What cannot be argued is the training soldiers have vs warriors
      Warriors train their lives
Soldiers are not prepared for death

I have a feeling that some of these exercises, while not practical, are a good way to test one's skill - as, if you can pull this off well in a training environment, you should be good enough at precision to pull off simpler moves even better in a battle.

Want to become a true samurai?
    1. Heian-era Samurai: practice Horse Archery and Grappling
    2. Sengoku-era Samura: practice Spear Arts, Firearm Marksmanship and Grappling.
    3. Edo-era Samurai: practice Firearm Marksmanship (for hunting), Tea Arts, Writing Arts and Swordmanship (for slashing unarmed peasant).
    4. Modern-era Samurai: practice Kendo and Hollywood Badass Arts.

Also a loud kiai or shout can intimidate or confuse your opponent, if you are a novice it will make you hesite if your rival has a superior determination (to kill you or hurt you).

Samurais - btw this word means "the one who obeys" - were basically tax collectors with a license to kill...

Ma/ Prz/ It means the way of the swordsman or women not many women where samurai but there are some documents online of that. The Samurai where like police men of there time But #A lot better. They die buy the sword because in there belief the sword is a sprint# part of them. For example if they die in battle by someone else's sword it's discrase to die if not your own sword why on the enemys.#Every thing they did was really spiritual.
