I have to admit I was never a fan of the original Amiga MODs mainly due to the low quality of the st-01 samples. I listened to the entire "Tracked In Time" music disk and there is nothing like this track on it. I'm willing to be proven wrong, but at this point I'd say without hesitation that this is the best "original style" module I've ever heard. Virt chastises himself for composing this in "80s filmmaker mode" but it sets the perfect atmosphere.
The Pokemon Mystery Dungeon vibes are real. Just imagine a water themed final dungeon were lugia is the final boss. Or following the trend of the newer games A giant ball of water energy called "The Tide Core" or something...
this is nothing like Mega Man music. this is far more Konami than Capcom, in fact I was just listening to "Nightfall" from Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake and noticed some striking similarities. Jake is the stuff of legends.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Music_tracker openmpt.org/ Not sure which he uses, but there are several options out there. I think OpenMPT comes with an instrument bank, but you can download large libraries of chiptune songs in the formats that the program reads so you can see and manipulate the full track and all it's components, but also importantly you can use the samples for your own songs. I still don't know how the samples themselves are generated, there seems to be a feature for that in openMPT, but so far just know that scavenging for samples as I mentioned is a good way to do it.
This song was part of an album that features songs using only samples from the ST-01 sample pack associated with the original Ultimate Soundtracker for the Amiga. It's composed in a 28-channel Impulse Tracker module.
I'm imagining that this would be used in a movie, or a TV show about 2 boys who are in love with each other, but they seemingly don't want to admit it, at least not with a crowd of people around them.

perfect music to listen to whilst trying to figure out how to complete a level without any starting keys
No starting keys you say?
perfect music to listen to as you struggle to figure out how to get -425 green keys and -10 blue keys
perfect music to listen when you realize that you really could have 13 stone keys right now
perfect music to listen to as you wonder what to do with the final level
@@djn_nathanthe "final" level
This might be both the most old-school and most beautiful track I've heard from Virt. It sounds like Skaven which is pretty damn good.
I also love Skaven. :)
I listen to skaven every day (including bejeweled soundtrack, but mostly his soundcloud page)
Goddammit, I'm in love with this track! The pacing is perfect, feels like it came right from an 80's video game~
I'm pretty sure this sounds more 90s as the audio quality here couldn't be done well until the CD consoles came to be.
The beginning makes me wanna sit down in a wide open space, deep into the night, and question the meaning of the universe.
This is by far my favorite Chiptune. It has an awesome 80's feel to it, feels like it would go well in some cyberpunk games/movies.
Heavy David Wise vibes! LOVE IT
Description edited with a download link, enjoy!
This is like...outrageously good. Holy shit O_O
haha i was so right about this channel it is filled with amazing soundtracks hehe i am gonna love to hear all these songs while drawing!!

Virt has actual talent. 90 percent of most tracker artists can't produce anything other than fast temp "UNN TISS UNN TISS UNN TISS".
Listening this masterpiece since 2013 and never get bored
Are you still listening?

Reminds me of Unreal! I love it!
the composer you're thinking of is Skaven of Future Crew - look up some of his music if you don't already know him :) beautiful stuff.
Kicks my ass every time I listen..
Great track! loved the hidden lick at 3:37
Wow, what a cool piece!!
This guy cooked with this music
seriously these are high quality tunes dude
Reminds me of a villains monologue to introduce them selves into the plot of a story
Excellent chiptune, probablement un des meilleurs ;)
je suis d'accord
Good and peaceful times

Great, slow, dramatic build up on this one.
*(turns into Super Saiyan dramaticly)*
reminds me of earthbound and LOZ

Straight outta Deus Ex
Jake told me that indeed... it was inspired by Deus Ex. Given that his music has far exceeded mine that's a crazy big compliment.
@@AlexCBrandon Whoa I didn't expect to see you here. Thanks for making one hell of a soundtrack for one of the best pc games of all time!

the gloves come off now.
This sounds a tiny bit like Corridors of Time from Chrono Trigger..... It could also sound like it could come from a Yume Nikki game.....
too complex for a Yume Nikki soundtrack imo. Those songs are usually like 20 second ambient loops.
Same thing with deltarune
love it...
Kinda got classic Deus Ex vibes from this.
vepho3dx know how to choose music)
Thank you :D
Thanks Jake Kaufman
Sounds like Uplink.
is that the lick at 3:36 lmao
what's the hardware specs on this song? Sounds like it went through an N64's sound chip haha

Honestly, this sounds like it belongs in a PS2 game, much like GioGio's Bizarre Adventure.
Speaking of PS(2), I'd literally hop onto the hype train for the release of a game based on Part 9.
+10% hype bonus if it becomes available for all platforms, including Switch.
