Thanks for demoing this amp without playing only Hendrix songs. This is the first review I’ve seen so far that does that. The bias test points are a great idea also.
I think it’s refreshing. Hendrix is probably my biggest guitar hero but I don’t really listen to stuff like that anymore, his tones were always legendary
Didn't expect that solid heavy tone. Kudos to fluff for doing something different. All demos are just old school blues and after a certain point we get it.
maybe I'm crazy but I didn't realize you had that many PRS guitars. I love the sound of all things PRS. The amps, guitars and now even pedal they make are just amazing!!
My prediction is, at this price, a lot of guys who have never played this type of amp will try it and hate it. But once you learn to dial it in it’s gonna sound amazing.
That's a shame because this comes in way cheaper than Marshall's SV20/SC20 heads. With a tube screamer, OCD, or something else, you can easily cover both of those amps sounds AND you get a master volume.
The rear bias adjustment should just be standard on more amps in 2022. I wonder if amp manufacturers are worried about people messing up their amps tinkering with it and that's why they are hesitant, or if it's a cost thing? (Maybe a little of both)
I am positive that they don't want you going inside their amp designs and messing around tinkering and such experimenting, unless you know what you are doing and you are qualified. Because if you know what you are doing and are qualified, you probably already have all the required tools and equipment to perform the biasing of the power tubes in an amp. Therefore a qualified person that knows what they are doing can easily and safely bias an amp without the need of externally accessed bias points. The main idea is, I suppose, to keep curious but electronically untrained and experienced players from going inside the amp. Players often have questions regarding the actual bias measurements of their power tubes. Eventually they might open up the amp and start looking around. Checking things. Maybe purchasing a bias probe. And continuing to mess around inside the amp. But these same players often have zero knowledge of electronics or working on tube amps. This has become a dangerous situation, if you know what I mean. Keeping innocent people away from this dangerous energy is important. This is dangerous and can kill even the most trained and experienced person. Things like capacitors are dangerous. They have the capacity to store and discharge large amounts of energy, even after the amp or device has been turned off. This factor presents an immediate and present danger. You need to be conscious of this danger. You must stay out of the inside of these amps if you do not know all about this specific danger of tube amplifiers of which I speak. All tube amplifiers. Don't mess around inside without electrical theory and training in safety. Safety is 1st. In this way manufacturers are motivated to keep casual customers outside of their amplifiers. Manufacturers posses liability for the dangers presented to customers by their products. Manufacturers want to do the right thing. They want to protect you and they want to protect themselves.
Thanks dude! I’ve never actually looked at PRS amps. The price is good, I’m not sure how long this amps been out or why I’ve overlooked it. I’m looking for something a little more vintage then my evh 6l6.
The 5881 tubes get a bigger sound than 6V6 or EL84 tubes (typical 20 tubes) without the farty low end of an overdriven 6V6. Also, the 5881/6L6 are a cousin to the KT66 that was in Jimi's amps which were JTM45/100's as opposed to 1959 Super Leads (with EL34) adding to this amp sounding how it was intended. I love mine. Bravo, PRS!!!
Seems like an ok amp. None of tone was very impressive to me and you were running the SM7B into a Neve 1073 too. It seems like a good root amp for a lighter gain more melodic player running it with an HX Effects or other processor or a nice pedal board. Like you said a good pedal platform. I would like to try one when I get the chance.
what I really want to know is what is the cable you're using, it looks like the plug has a swivel on it? that would actually be pretty useful if it holds up to movement over time.
Fluff, I came here after watching loads of your videos and then listening to episode of URM podcast with you. Just want to say that I found my new favorite band in Dragged Under. You guys rock! I hope you'll find success you deserve, can't believe I was sleeping on you so long!
Hey fluff, hope everything is good. I noticed the new video space, and I know life can be crazy. Obviously I’m a total stranger, but if you need anyone to vent to, I’m available. Cool video though! Very cool sounding amp 🤟🏽
I'm in the market for a low volume amp and when I saw this was released I immediately thought it was exactly what I'm looking for. I'm really disappointed that they did not put an fx loop on it though, wtf?! But I dunno, I still may go for it cause it sounds great in all the demos I've heard so far. Thanks for sharing!
Tweed amps were made up until the mid 70s- they were just made overseas by a company called Marshall. The JTM 45 the JMP Bass same circuit as the tweed amps ... JMP Lead was a modded tweed with smaller bypass caps (and i think coupling caps ).. 2204/3 are truly different amps...those are something else..... a sui generis. Beyond what Roger Mayer thought up and implemented in his amps of course
Awesome alternative for huge amps and to get a great crisp sound and an idea of a full range tone. NEVERTHELESS I clearly hear that Orange Brent Hinds does the same trick extremely well. Not Rocker 15. Brent Hinds only.
Is this amp being made in Indonesia or China? I've got the PRS MT-15 and it's a beast of an amp and it's made in China and is actually a very high quality product so I was wondering where this amp is being made.
Well I hope it's better than the PRS mt15 cos the over drive on them a total crap I had to use the Clean Chanel and put a effects unit threw with a klone so not bad now. But hay highly over rated would not recommend them to anyone
In Europe Marshalls are cheaper than in the US, however Fenders are more expensive. So prices will differ in other areas, but at thomann: -Marshall SV20H is €829. -Marshall Origin 20H is €459. -PRS HDRX 20H is €965. I used to own the Origin 20, even had it modded but it just didn't sound right to me. Bought the SV20H and it just does it all from AC/DC to Hendrix to van Halen. Now I don't see why one would need this new PRS amp, the master volume is nice, but these amps need to be loud to sound right anyways.
who tf is this for? lol i just dont see 800 in value here, it didnt even sound that great to me, and thats with a nice cab most people who would buy this thing wont have. rip to your wallets
800 bucks for a versatile high quality Tube amplifier that can be used in a live setting (which I suspect can easily be done with this one) is everything but overpriced
It is at the upper end of the price range for a lunchbox type amp. But I don't think it is outrageously over priced. Especially considering the "Plexi clone" market and what some of those amps sell for.
Please list any other amp that has anywhere these features for $800 - we’ll wait. The amp may not be for you but jeeze calling it overpriced is both demonstrably false and bad karma for you, bro.
Thanks for demoing this amp without playing only Hendrix songs. This is the first review I’ve seen so far that does that. The bias test points are a great idea also.
You said the switch adds “Crispness”. I heard the switch adds ‘Christmas’ and now I want one to record a rock/punk Christmas album
Crispness came early.
Nothing will compare to the vandals Christmas album
Do a cover of Spinal Tap’s “Christmas with the Devil”.
I am the anti crisp
Don’t quit your day job 😂
I did Not expect this genre of a demo song, given the other demos I’ve heard, but I’m here for it!
PRS is making a name for themselves in the amp world, I’d love to mess with one of these in a studio setting.
PRS really knocked it out of the park with this one, especially at the given price point.
The full mix tone reminded me of an early mastodon tone. It had a specific punch on the attack that was very mastodon. Sick tones
Abbreviated, is the word ;)
This is a very nice amp. I really like the look too. PRS has just been so solid the past few years, sort of a revival.
maybe I'm crazy but I didn't realize you had that many PRS guitars. I love the sound of all things PRS. The amps, guitars and now even pedal they make are just amazing!!
I hate the Tremonti Stealth cab but everything else PRS I've tried has been the best
My prediction is, at this price, a lot of guys who have never played this type of amp will try it and hate it. But once you learn to dial it in it’s gonna sound amazing.
Slap a Precision Drive in front of it, and this thing becomes the perfect Blink-182/Linkin Park amp.
That's a shame because this comes in way cheaper than Marshall's SV20/SC20 heads. With a tube screamer, OCD, or something else, you can easily cover both of those amps sounds AND you get a master volume.
Mine arrived brand new on Thursday….it is waiting for me in my studio……yay!!
These tones make me sing! Thanks for the great uploads!

You should do a review on the updated new Friedman Pink Taco V2 amplifier
wow Fluff I never even knew about this line. I like it, and really enjoying you channel so far. Thanks
Thanks dude!
I’ve never actually looked at PRS amps.
The price is good, I’m not sure how long this amps been out or why I’ve overlooked it.

Spot on, Ryan. I have one pre-ordered, I’m looking forward to it. 😎👍🏻

I would like to see you review the Hughes & Kettner Tubemieister 18.
Thank you for this Fluff! The Fiore sounds really nice with the HDRX
Great video !! Thanks for doing these type of videos much appreciated
Whilst Ryan was playing for the full demo mix, he looked like Tim McTague from UnderØath

hey thanks man
Whats the name of the song at 1:40? The riff is amazing
Man I'm all about those bendy/articulated cable ends.
Great demo. Can you tell what cables you're using?
Thanks
You Made That Thing Sound Great!
Still love that custom 22
Hey fluff, hope everything is good. I noticed the new video space, and I know life can be crazy. Obviously I’m a total stranger, but if you need anyone to vent to, I’m available. Cool video though! Very cool sounding amp 🤟🏽
Can you make it a point to sneak Rain When I Die in every video?
Kind if wanna know more about those cables. The adjustable end looks super convenient.
apologies if you've covered them. in another vid, but what cables are those? digging the articulated jacks ends.
I'm in the market for a low volume amp and when I saw this was released I immediately thought it was exactly what I'm looking for. Different amps can 'musically' fill your room differently. A 1 Watt valve amp can do it too.
I want that PRS custom 22 sooooo bad
When did Fluf get a FIORE!??? 3:44 That’s my next PRS
Why didn’t you show more of what adjusting the two volumes and the master volume can do?
Wonder how this exact thing would eat the new Soldano pedal :)

Hendrix approved? How did they accomplish that? The guy has been dead for over 50 years.
Lol everyone knows Hendrix faked his death!
im interested in the cables, where can I find those.
Great! One more piece of gear I want and can not afford.
Will you do a Verizon stock analyses for us now that Q3 earnings came out? Thanks.
make sure to make kemper profile for this
Fluff, which of this small amps 20w will lats during rehearsal?I mean if drummer kill it or not?Is it possible?
Is a requirement that if you demo a PRS amp, you have to use a PRS guitar? Just curious.
Are these are loud as an MT15 I wonder if you know
What are those cord attachments (or plugs) called?
I was wondering the exact same thing! I Googled for a minute and found PIVOT-ALL cables.
@@thomasnickerson9035 so that is what it’s called! Thanks, man!
Fluff are you from Washington?
🎉
Wow $800 huh?! Nice!
When are you gonna do the MT15 seems more up you ally
Awesome alternative for huge amps and to get a great crisp sound and an idea of a full range tone. NEVERTHELESS I clearly hear that Orange Brent Hinds does the same trick extremely well. Not Rocker 15. Brent Hinds only.
Do you get your nails done professionally? They look great.
What was that riff that starts at 3:40 mark
Is this amp being made in Indonesia or China? I've got the PRS MT-15 and it's a beast of an amp and it's made in China and is actually a very high quality product so I was wondering where this amp is being made.
Indonesia
i wish they would make more 30-40 watt amps.. 25 isnt quite enough for playing with a drummer and 100 is too much.
A bit higher than 30-40 watts but there's a 50 watt version of the HDRX
The price is $3k though....@KevinTheMetalhead
I hope you made a Kemper profile before sending it back lol
i know i got a kemper
Doesn anyone know what kind of cables that are? Looks like you can change the angle on them.
Pivot-All
@@RiffsAndBeards Thanks man. But that price, oof.
Was that supposed to be aurora?
I wish this amp had an FX loop.
Then you dont understand how the distortion is produced in this amp.
@@tonedover I'm sure you're right.
Yeah, the SV20 Plexi has a welcome FX loop
I will be using it in my studio through an oxbox….that has beautiful reverb in any case…..
The bright switch really works when both volumes are like 12 o clock ish…..
Needs an fx loop 🤷🏽♂️
Great review, however.....I expected more from you. I got all of that from the other 100 videos, pls do a secound review.
Is it American made or made in Indonesia?
No effects loop? That’s just a mistake in 2022.
Did you move into a different house?
I did yeah
@@RiffsAndBeards
Hope all is good. Your home studio was nice.
Definitely not my cup 'o tea, but it seems like a cool little "plexi clone."
Abbreviation is the word your searching for
" abbreviation" maybe the word your looking for
PRS amps sound great...but their build quality is questionable. I owned the new PRS Archon 50 mk2 for a week before it literally went up in smoke.
if hendrix didnt play it then it isnt a hendrix amp. putting his name on it is kinda a marketing shame IMO. Sounds good though.
Well I hope it's better than the PRS mt15 cos the over drive on them a total crap I had to use the Clean Chanel and put a effects unit threw with a klone so not bad now. But hay highly over rated would not recommend them to anyone
Fluff are you breaking into abandon houses to do your reviews now?
You better like it or PRS will not 'Lend' you anymore amps, AKA Shill Kill
This amp is based on Jimi’s Marshall - proceeds to play modern rock on it. I love it! Screw the boomers! Lol
Yeah, pocket killer
I tried it without pedals, very touch sensitive.
I personally didn't like it.
The drums in this mix are a tad too loud, can't hear the guitar to it's full extent.
Hollow mids, probably the guitar
No effects loop :(
I expected it to be more than $800.
I prefer MT15
cool, too bad I don't have a beard otherwise I'd sub.
I just realized, I’m watching an ad, Which has ads. Ugh
You poor thing.
@@RiffsAndBeards all my faves just shill out the latest gear
why not review something other than big well established company crap thats already been done to death! give the smaller companies some love.
Cause no one watches those videos.
@@RiffsAndBeards oh, that's a shame. there's so much cool stuff out there!
No point. Get the Marshall Origin 20 for $150 less.

It’s $799 - seems very reasonable to me.
meh
How can you demo a PRS amp with a PRS guitar, and not wear an “Affliction” shirt. 😂 JK Fluff.
Hendrix is dead.He never played these amplifiers
That is one dull sounding amp.
Dude, I love this amp! Is it true bypass? Is it Gibson compatible? Can it get the ever elusive "negro sound?" Asking for a friend
Good for PRS, happy for them, but why in the world is the Hendrix amp not a Marshall???????
I assume because Paul did the research on Jimi’s amp and produced it and the people at Marshall didn’t
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Jimi played many different amp brands.
Yes but he’s most known for using Marshall
who tf is this for? lol i just dont see 800 in value here, it didnt even sound that great to me, and thats with a nice cab most people who would buy this thing wont have. rip to your wallets
Just like the new pedals, way over priced.
Bro what?! You get a spot on plexi sound plus a master volume and it’s only 799$ like Jesus Christ dude, how low do you think amp prices should be.
800 bucks for a versatile high quality Tube amplifier that can be used in a live setting (which I suspect can easily be done with this one) is everything but overpriced
