I just found out they're owned by a white racist family...but they continue to use Black women all over their site, SMDH. There is a lady on YT that did a video about this in 2020, and a former employee of theirs talked about how bad that family was.
Oh my goodness thank you! I keep telling people they are having issues because they stopped using sulfates. Personally, I went back to them because I found that even the sulfate free clarifying shampoos were not enough.

I thought I was the only one that doesn't like ECO styler for my 4c hair lol. I just found your channel while searching for the best gel or edge control that doesn't leave a white film on natural 4c hair.
I found your videos last week. I feel as though I stuck gold! I have learned so much. Just ordered the 2 Chic shampoo and conditioner. Can't wait to try it! Thank you!
Why do many stylists insist on using a moisturizing shampoo after using a clarifying one instead of going straight to the deep conditioner after clarifying?

I've heard to be careful with those steamers. Is it true they can give you heat damage? Is there a safe amount of time and/or days that they should be used?
Hey, I had a quick question about washing options with a whole-house water softener: potassium-based soaps/shampoos (Dr. Bronner’s, etc.) are recommended since they don't feel slimy with the sodium ion exchange softened water. Is that an acceptable choice (if followed by the ACV type rinse) or should I just go back to a co-wash (I've heard good things As I Am?) Thank you so much for your videos. They're teaching this old mixed lady how to wrestle her hair into shape! ❤
Hey Linwood, I hope you are doing ok with your beautiful self.😊 I like Cream of Nature only and usually wash my hair twice a week cause it is hot where I live.
Yes it's most likely buildup.Clarifying shampoos are a must at least once or maybe twice a month..then guess what...you have to do it all over again..for healthy hair and or a lasting style..
Explain why we need to protect our hair? The most insanity based statement ever. I got my hair combed every day, and I still do it. Now twice a day. Karen curl house stylist said moisturize morning and night. For me, lotion on my scalp made for it. More a spray liquid, but I'm in Egypt, so they call it lotion and cream on the ends. Hair is growing nicely under high manipulation. I have to part it obsessively to get the spray on my scalp. Cream on my ends.
I really want to get a hair steamer but, Ive heard they don't last very long when using non distilled water. Can anyone who owns one tell me from experience if the device longevity is truly as bad as I've heard/ Is it worth it if i cant use it in the optimum way?
Okay so what happens if you don't have build up. I'm fighting wearing my natural hair in Texas heat it is just so dry and so in need of I think intense moisture with a steamer help me?
The steamer can DEFINITELY help with that, and then making sure you are not using products for strength super often. Nearly all your products should be for hydration/moisture. Also, during the warmer months, using glycerin based products can help massively.
How to deal with dry summer hair 1. Use with a moisturing shampoo weekly. 2. Use a protein-free deep condition with a steamer or a dryer or a plastic cap and a hot towel for 30 minutes. Weekly 3. Use a moisturing leave in mist daily. 4. Twist you hair into an updo for 5 days out of 7. 5. Keep you hair wrapped or covered from the sun! In silk, technical cooling UV scarf or a panama hat! 6. If you have been swimming, when you are finished you need to wash the chlorine and/or salt out of your hair. I wear a hat swimming in the sea from the sun too!
@@GetGlamFam thank you I'm nearing 50. I don't want to have all this hair and I can't keep it moisturized. My mother's advice to me a long time ago was don't be one of those women who has long hair just for the sake of having long hair. I thought about recutting it off and just starting from scratch but it's grown for me being bald when I cut it off when I turn 40 and it's backed out my back I'm going to have to go through my products and see which ones qualify. Do you have any suggestions for shampoos that are are good for hard water? I have been using kera Care shampoo and design essentials and I recently ordered the 50 heavenly moisturizing box. I really just want to braid it up like one of the person suggested which is what I do most of the time and I just moisturizing and I'll leave in these twists and want to undo the twist you know I have the same bouncy curls. but even they become dry sometimes when I finish the whole twist out process. I stopped using grease in oil what should I be putting on for shine and moisture besides a leave-in conditioner because I was using kaleidoscopes leave-in conditioner and mizan leave in conditioner.
Me: braiding my hair myself and with braiders since the 90s..why they basting your scalp in edge control? My trichologists : edge control takes out edges.. Stop using it. New style braiders: super heavy knotless braids and edge control all over your scalp. The next generation gona be bald.
Hey, what’s your opinion on clarifying that don’t have sulfates? I notice the main ingredient that cleanses the hair is olefin sulfonate or something similar to it, is that am acceptable alternative to sulfates?
Omg I have sandy brown hair and keeping my hair moisturized is a Struggle! Even with locs! Can I use these same products to help my hair too? I try to use as little products as possible to avoid buildup but lawd my hair is Dry! Love love love your content btw ❤
1. How often do you shampoo? 2. Do you have tap water that is hard? 3. Use distilled pure rose water and glycerin daily. Make sure there is nothing else added 4.twist your locs up and cover them like the Rastafarians do to protect them from drying out and dust and lint
What's your opinion on the clarifying effects of bentonite clay masks (about once a month)? My hair haaates steam, but you truly cannot skip it after a chelating shampoo. So I look for alternatives that clarify but also help to smooth the hair back down without needing an ice bath. Thanks. ✌🏿
A clay mask will not remove build up as much as a chelating and clarifying shampoo. The shampoo is superior which is why professional stylists, cosmetologists, trichologists and dermatologists use them. I cannot say this enough the only products that smooth the hair down completely are styling products. Styling products come with their own hazards such as dryness and scalp irritation. Use styling products with caution. I live somewhere with high humidity even people with straight hair have Frizz. I embrace the frizz.
@@marleyhill34 I don't mind frizz; I prefer the volume. I mind losing all moisture within 24 hours of shampooing unless I immediately slather my hair in heavy butters...which requires stripping it again; simply continuing that cycle. When a product is both the cause and the cure, it's not for me - but I'll always be interested in his opinion because I appreciate that he considers the mindset behind haircare versus just covering up symptoms with stylers, but thanks.
@@MaxineShaw_84 My moisture cycle is 24 hours which means I have to apply a leave-in ( mist or cream: nothing with holding or smoothing properties) conditioner within 24 hours or my hair will dry out. Every week I shampoo, deep condition with steam for 30 minutes, apply leave in detangler and leave in condtioner and put my hair in a short term protective style that I take down the next week. Once every 4-6 weeks is when I use the clarifying and chelating shampoo. I get my hair trimmed every 6-16 weeks depending on how bad the ends are behaving- the more they dry out the worst they tangle, the more they tangle the more they split and feel dry. I don't wear long-term protective styles or wash and goes only because they dry out my hair, especially with my end exposed to wind, sun, freezing temperatures, central heating and air conditioning. I didn't make up this regiment as it's based on what my trichologists told me to do. I also don't use raw oils, raw butters, gels, jelly, twisting creme, defining creme, edge control, serums, holding sprays, or mousse because they dry out my hair. This is again advice from my trichologist. Hopefully you can find a professional in person who can look at and feel your hair and give you the advice that you are looking for. Online can only do so much.
The “allergy” part was me joking about covering my dislike for them as a cough. It leaves a lot of buildup on the hair, they follow TH-cam trends instead of focusing on hair care, and their gels don’t reactivate when you get them wet. Are they the absolute worst? Absolutely not, but their results are terribly inconsistent and because of that I can’t confidently recommend them to people because I never know how their hair will respond to it.
@GetGlamFam Wow. How have I been rocking with you for soooooo long and didn't know you didn't mess with Eco styler like that. Lol anyway. What do you recommend for a wash and go? Cuz you just blow up my world. Lol I have fine Low perciosity hair. I hate hair typing but to give an idea I'm a 3c 4a I guess.
@@rharris8121 my trichologists: throw all gels away if you don't want dry hair and an irritated scalp. Lol! 🙈 My wash and goes are dont with leave ins a puff band and I'm out the door. I struggle with hair on my face and neck.

Last week I used "Cecred Clarifying Shampoo" because I had a sample and I loved it! I had a pimple on my scalp that would not go away but, after using Cecred it just disappeared. I think it was dead skin that built up on my scalp in the form of a pimple but wasn't. Anyway just like Linwood said I followed up with a DC afterwards I clarify once a month.
No. It's not going to chelate. I rotate shampoos and co-wash. I can tell the difference. I use a clarifying, chelating shampoo once every 4-6 weeks. Because I swim, go to the spa and have hard water.

3. Use distilled pure rose water and glycerin daily. Make sure there is nothing else added
4.twist your locs up and cover them like the Rastafarians do to protect them from drying out and dust and lint
Why are you talking so fast? Brother, slow down.
What do you have against eco styler gel?
I think he may be allergic, because that's what flashed across the screen at the bottom when he mentioned it.
Lol
I have fine Low perciosity hair.
I just found out they're owned by a white racist family...but they continue to use Black women all over their site, SMDH. There is a lady on YT that did a video about this in 2020, and a former employee of theirs talked about how bad that family was.
😢aw oh, no Canadian access...but you ought to copyright that name...found copycats selling candles, hope it was you ❤
Can you review Fenty and Cer. Beyonc shampoos 🎉🎉🎉?
Last week I used "Cecred Clarifying Shampoo" because I had a sample and I loved it! I had a pimple on my scalp that would not go away but, after using Cecred it just disappeared. I think it was dead skin that built up on my scalp in the form of a pimple but wasn't. Anyway just like Linwood said I followed up with a DC afterwards I clarify once a month.
Is a moisturizing sulfate shampoo good enough or no?
It helps, but it’s not going to remove buildup like a clarifying shampoo will.
No. It's not going to chelate. I rotate shampoos and co-wash. I can tell the difference. I use a clarifying, chelating shampoo once every 4-6 weeks. Because I swim, go to the spa and have hard water.
👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Can clarifying shampoo be used on relaxed hair?
How can I make an appointment with you ?!?!
I’m no longer behind the chair, I teach full time now, but if I ever go back to salon you can bet I’ll be sharing that bit of info here on my channel!
